Batting Edman BEHIND Bellinger does a disservice to Edman since he is a better hitter than Bellinger. You potentially take an at bat away from Tommy Tanks. Anyhow, Bellinger makes less sense than Soto.
I would prefer a trade for Rooker of the A's, but if Dodgers can't sign Teo or Soto the Dodgers will be short on OF options. Bellinger would be a 4th or 5th option because of his glove and still has pop inthe bat. Also,remember that he can play 1st base if needed. That's 2 roster spots !!!
I think the Dodgers front office is hell-bent on getting Soto Because he fits so perfectly with what they are trying to build. They have increase revenue this year by nearly 200 million and Soto would only cost about 44 million more. They could easily get CT3s money off the books by trading him along with Lux and a decent prospect. So money won’t be the hard part, the hard part will be convincing him to leave New York for the West Coast

Put Edman in CF. Put Rushing in LF. Bellinger can be a mid season acquisition if someone gets hurt. Trading Taylor for Bellinger straight up seems reasonable but not necessary.

If the Cubs can eat some of his contract, sure. But that's the only if. That's the only issue: his cost contractually. Otherwise he'd be a nice asset in the bottom of the lineup, and still a good defender.
