I just found this channel for the 1st time - this video was very good and you have a very nice manner - you sound like a kind and polite person - thanks for making this. I'll definately check this knife out!
Had this knife in Iraq and the pommel was probably the most used feature because I smashed many car windows to search cars for IEDs. The integral sharpener is good enough, but not great. Grip works when sweaty and DEET does not degrade it from what I can tell. Probably one of the best all around military knives ever and was very popular.
They did a good job- this style of blade has some heavy competition these days… I don’t discount it- but, Gerber uses some kind of magic steel no one seems to know what- guesses are 440-SS etc. I’m not a steel snob- I buy a knife for numerous reasons not just steel Content. The sheath is useable- has a lot of attractions- good vid on an older design thanks.
i still love the knife! ive always been a fan of Gerber Knives, and this one holds up to the hype. like any knife, it will get dull with a lot of use, but ive got a friend with a great sharpening system who gets it back to me better than new! thanks for watching, i hope you liked the video
That’s a tough choice. Both are great knives. The Infantry has a few more features and seems a little more robust, but the strong arm is lighter. I think the Infantry knife is my favorite, unless weight is an issue for you. Hope that helps! Thanks for watching
Well I have this LMF2 Knife for about 12yrs now and I tried to like it but I couldn't this Knife had eveything I wanted but the Reason I don't like this Knife is it can't hold a edge at all I keep coming back to it and it's Horrible can't cut though A leather belt...or a seat belts... Even twine...even my 20$ knives can cut though A leather belts and seat belts and twine..no problem...I would not trust this knife even as a back up knife I will use my 20$ Knife they cut better now i have alot of Knives from Tops to Esse to Kbar and more and this Knife is the Worst one..mybe I got a bad one with a bad Heat Treatment...but its now my Junk Knife that i dont use because its always Dull..its just Junk

Don't have Links on Amazon Sir. They sell counterfeit items. Straight from the "Gerber Store" Plenty special Knifes
I've had mine for almost 20 years and have brought it with me for OEF, OIF, OFS, and OSS. It hasn't failed me yet.

Picked one up last year. Wow, best bush knife I’ve ever owned.

Great info! Thanks for watching, and thank you for your service. -Tight Lines ‘n Short Blood Trails
Always buy Gerber direct from Gerber. Too many counterfeit items on Amazon. I've bought a couple sadly.
I’ve been fortunate. I’ve bought 4 different Gerber products from Amazon, and they are all legit. Thanks for watching !
When I show my friends mine and they go to pull it out of the sheath 😅. I say you have to pull it with intention. Great video
You certainly have to! No limp wrist pulling for sure. Lol. Thanks for watching, enjoy your knife!
I have this knife and actually found an original LMF 1 on eBay in mint condition with a low serial number that I bought. They are excellent knives
yes they are! thanks for watching. enjoy your knife
True do it all knife! Love this thing!
glad you like it! thanks for watching

Maybe you can send the knife back to Gerber and have it repaired?

The steel on the LMF2 is known. 420HC
they certainly did! thanks for watching
How are you liking it 9 months later? What about edge retention? What kind of steel is it? Thank you for the video. 😎👍🏼

It's 420HC steel. Decent steel and stainless which I prefer for a survival type of knife.
I just put one up for sale. New in box. Bought in 2008. $100.00 on my towns craigslist. I tried to find out the steel. I'm told it changed in @ 2008
Good luck selling it! Thanks for watching
So what knife do you recommend the strongarm ot the infantry ll?
That’s a tough choice. Both are great knives. The Infantry has a few more features and seems a little more robust, but the strong arm is lighter.

sorry to hear that, sounds like you may have just gotten a bad knife. i have been really enjoying mine, and it seems to hold an edge pretty well
@@Horn_n_Fin_Outdoors Nice.... that's is what I was thinking I just got a bad one.
@@spectermad9180 Yep I have 4 of them and all keep an edge really well. Maybe get a new one and give it another chance! 🙂
You should probably contact gerber because there is no way a knife wouldn’t go through a leather lol
