    I always struggle with zippers and welting, even with a walking welting foot on my sailrite LSZ. It slips off and gives me fits. But maybe I just need more practice.

    I love it! Growing up poor I always had to make due with what was in front of me, or do without, so I often do things 'outside of the box'. People then try to 'correct me' (doesn't work but oh well LOL). So I love seeing others doing it 'wrong' as it works great. It shows there are many ways to accomplish the same task with different resources.
    PS: I love watching your videos. I love your laid back personality and comfort level in your skill. It really shows.

      @@oldschoolautoupholstery No, I hopefully temporarily have to use a wheelchair and the circulation gets cut off on my legs if I sit there for longer than 15 minutes or so. It's something that you have to experience. Most padded seats are shitty and they want lots of Money. I am going to try something on my own and I'll let you know how it turns out. I enjoy all your Videos!

      Hello Dick, Thank you very much! I use a smaller stitch length for smaller items and sewing around curves like a 5 or 6 on my machine. or 7 or 8 for larger items like a top stitch or canvas. I believe the standard thread size I use for everything is a 92. Please keep liking and watching!

    Thanks Rudy. I learned two things from this, I have never tried cutting the tape on an angle and installing the slider on backwards. I think I could sew the zipper tape like you showed if I marked a “fold to” line on the fabric. You make it look easy.

    I have been upholstering for 30 years to make it easy we just cut the zipper fabric the same size as the boxing .Then we just bend in half it's a lot easier to sew ..I sew on top with my cord foot

      @@oldschoolautoupholstery my supplier comes out of Cincinnati and delivers to our door.I talked them into selling them and they are flying off the shelves .I'm sure you don't have to pull many staples as us furniture guys do .Just trying to help.

I have some foam damage in the seats of my truck but I don't know what foam to use to repair it. There are so many different types, I have no idea what I'm looking for. Cheers!
