Neko is so cute! Its insane what people can survive. To lose more than a decade of your life and then be able to just pick yourself up and keep going is absolutely amazing.
yall, reminder!! even men - you can't ever let down your guard, especially if you are small and/or disabled. Im 5"4/5"5, small build (trans), and walk with a cane. I dont usually walk places, but after a first aid course not too far from my home, I chose to walk 20 minutes back through an area I wasnt super familiar with on foot - especially at night. Turned out that the neighborhood street wasnt lit well, so it was dark, and a car came from the other direction and parked right beside me where I was walking. As I walked, it backed up very, very slowly, keeping pace with me. Since I was a woman not even 10 years ago, I remember the instinctual fear that girls are brought up with, and before anyone was able to jump out or roll down a window, I walked up the pathway to the very next house I came up to and knocked on the door. A HUGE man answered (so now im scared for a fun new reason), but explained, "Hi. Theres a car following me. Could you talk with me for just a minutes just so they think I know you?" the guy immediately ushers me in and shuts and locks the door. again, terrified for a new reason - but less terrified than id at least been outside. the man - Vic - asked me what was going on (i think he probably only let me in because my voice is very obviously that of a gay, feminine man - i pass 100% all the time as male now), and anyway after a few minutes of me shaking and trying to text my partner, Vic looks outside and said, "huh." he unlocks the door, goes out to the steps, then calls me by name. i go to look, the car is gone, the guy's girlfriend is getting out of a different car with some homemade bread. he walks me to the sidewalk, i thank him, and i RUN home. usually im physically unable to do that, but adrenaline works in mysterious ways 😂 anyway all this to say, trust your gut. if something seems off - especially if its someone in a car you dont know well - do WHATEVER you have to do to get someone else's attention. act like you know a stranger, run through yards, run the other direction, whip out the phone and call the police, literally whatever you have to do to get away from the suspicious person. and men? youre not any safer. no mater how big and scary you look, someone of any size with a car and/or gun could still get you. dont take chances with your life - i wont be ever again. if i have to take a cab, Ill take a fucking cab - $20 isnt worth my life or worth never seeing my partner again. people are sick. stay safe out there!!
Oh my god that’s so scary!!! I was almost kidnapped in 7th grade in a very similar way only my friend and I managed to run long enough that we ran into other people and they stopped chasing us. Glad that guy was nice!!!
Congratulations on your fur baby. I usually feel a certain way about immediately replacing such a cherished furry member of our family, but your backstory and context made my heart so happy for you both!
I live near Cleveland and this was such a huge deal when they were found. I was young (I’m 24 now) and the more I learn about this case, the sicker it makes me feel
I do very much appreciate your sensitivity about talking about these subjects. I get enough information to feel the gravity of it but not enough to keep me up at night... Although the travesty of the situation is worthy of keeping anyone up at night. Thank you for your video and I will keep on watching
I watched yesterday and thought that I commented., but I guess not. I am happy to see that kitty is making herself at home, I know that yall and the dogs are going to love having her around. I'm glad to have you back, but I hope that you keep taking care of yourself. Don't push yourself too much for us. We all understand, and if they don't then they aren't cool anyway lol.
We never learned rhetoric in Arizona. I can barely carry on structured sentences and as you can see my grammar is horrendous. Our schooling system is horrible in so many ways.
Europe had to do some major adjustments of our views of the US when the MAGA movement hit social media full force, loud, proud and shockingly ignorant and cognitively dissonant. I didn't believe for a second that American babies are born with less potential than anybody else, so I started digging for answers to this (to us) absolutely bizarre phenomenon. It was literally like trying to discuss with adult-looking, ignorant know-it-all kindergarten kids. As it turns out, almost all of them grew up in red school districts, and that the quality of early education started rapidly declining in the 1980s. Educating children wasn't a priority anymore. There are very few things that outrage me more than children being denied the right to realize their potential for learning, and a chance at successful, adult lives. I'm sorry that you were robbed of a good education!
