Lovely video! Seeing you go through the tasting process defiantly has helped me in my neat run journey. Side not I got Clairin le Rocher as my first Clairin because of your videos, and it is so amazing in my top 5 for sure.
this has solidified my decision to purchase the worthy park overproof. i love tropical fruits and minerality in my rum, and i also prefer when the briney notes are more subtle than up-front. i needed an excuse to fall down the unaged jamaican rum rabbit hole anyhow. great video as always, arminder.
@therumrevival I did a Rum Fire, Rum Bar, W&N in a Jaspers comparison last weekend. My conclusion was don't drink that much rum in that short a period of time ever again, but also that Rum Fire won. They were all good, but definitely RF was the winner. It's a great way to try OP Jamaicans. Jaspers and W&N is a really affordable and accessible cocktail.
WPO feels like a true successor to Rumbar. Now I am even more interested in getting a bottle of WPO and hope it can be a common shelfer among wray and rumfire. I hope your channel get big enough to visit distilleries across the world and make videos with all the experts. I hope one day I can try a custom rumrevival blend. Will you be dropping any merch?
I can also attest to the need for a substantial glass of water (or 3) for similar tastings. Love the video and comparison! I find myself searching for both bottlings locally mid-video. Gotta focus!
the Overproof is a decent sipper with a touch of water added and I found it to be a better sipper than a mixer in a Daiquiri. Going to get another bottle this week
Compared to Rumfire, Rum-Bar overproof being more subdued seems welcome. My wife and I both picked up a bottle of Rumfire on your recommendation when travelling and it was very far into the "not for me" category, lol. No harm no foul, happy to try new flavors, and I appreciate your channel/recommendations, but it's a pretty large flavor blast for someone who doesn't drink a lot of rum and not generally a flavor one would normally come across. Will probably give both of these a try if I see them anywhere. The Rum-bar seems more interesting from your description.
Thanks for giving some of my recommendations a try. As you mentioned, not all of them will be for everyone. Hopefully the next one is. I have tasted the new Worthy Park overproof and I definitely think its much more approachable than the Rum Fire and might be worth trying.
@@therumrevival WP added to my pickup list. Love your channel, man.. almost no one is giving out recommendations like this with thorough tasting notes/comparisons.
Not available in my part of the world yet but this (and your last video about it) made me buy a couple of bottles of Rum-Bar overproof if it’ll be phased out here too.
I bought 6 bottles of the rum-bar op as soon as I heard it wasn't going to be available in the US soon. It's essential to the Mai Sha Roa Na (my favorite cocktail). Interested to try the WP overproof. Haven't seen it available just yet.
OK, will pick up WP Overproof when I see it. Love the Patreon page! The Nuclear Daiquiri comparison sounds perfect!
Thank you!

Thanks! So glad you liked the le rocher! Its such an amazing (and crazy) spirit.

Thank you! Yeah, I really think the WP OP will really appeal to lots of people.
The Rum Bar OP is pretty good in a Jaspers Jamaican Punch.
That’s the one other cocktial I thought of including in this video but never got my act together to mix up the jaspers. May have to do a side by side

@@uraniumrock8381 lol yeah that's probably good advice.
Thanks for doing this side by side tasting! I’d love to hear how it tastes in a daiquiri!
Thanks for a watching. Definitely plan on doing more of a cocktail focused video with the WP OP in the near future.

I too would like all of those things to happen lol. I have ideas for merch for sure. Just need to find the time to make all that happen.

Thanks! and yes water is key!

Agreed that it’s a decent sipper. I’m hoping to really start mixing with it this weekend

Where I live, the RB OP is pretty much all cleaned out. Hopefully the WP OP makes it out to where you are.
I'm definitely picking up a bottle of the Rumbar for the collection, but I hope the Worthy is widely available.
I'm seeing it pop up all over the place. Hope it makes it to your neck of the woods.
Sorry to her Rum-Bar is being replaced here in the states. My favorite Jamaican Overproof white rum.

I snagged 2 bottles myself. I'll have to try the Mai Sha Roa Na

Highly recommend.
1oz rumbar op
1oz 5 year medium dry Madeira
1/2oz Giffard banane
1/2oz salted vanilla macadamia orgeat (see Derek's video)
3/4oz lemon juice
4-5 drops saline
I have the impression Rum Bar OP has changed compared to what it was 3 or 4 years ago. I used to get more banana notes from it. Anyone noticed that?
Oh interesting. I haven't heard anything officially, but would like to find an old dusty and do a comparison.
So, you want us to pay to see unpolished videos? Hooray?
