- Barrett rifles are legendary for their long-range precision, mainly because they are known for their huge, long-range cartridges such as 50 BMG and even Barrett's own 416. But now the wholly American, Tennessee-based firm is downsizing with a fully modular platform that can be fired using the inherently accurate 300 PRC round. It's about as small of a cartridge as feasible for one mile shooting, but as JJ found, man is it accurate---and fun! JJ shoots at Branded Rock Canyon's notoriously windy range, but has no problem putting his second and subsequent shots on the 9 ft. Bigfoot target stationed 1774 yards downrange. Sure, the rifles are expensive, by JJ feels every legal American should own at least one Barrett. Especially if you're a Yeti hunter!
For less than half that, a Ruger Precision would also be advisable.
great rifle at a great price.. no doubt. I've never fired one that wasn't sub .5 moa.
