- Super megachill hunt. Since this takes place in the Guiding Lands, I did my best with the audio to simulate a quest.
I took a mean hit at 2:36 because to be fair I completely forgot it does that move twice, I didn't even practice one bit before going into this encounter and I kinda completely forgot how this thing's moveset even works
The funny thing about Deviljho is that in old world games, it looked goofy but had a mean moveset, and in World they switched up, they made Deviljho and Savage Jho look so much scarier but gave them a goofy moveset.
Even Savage Deviljho is a pushover that's actually so incredibly easy to bully, it's like a ball stuck in a pinball game. You wall bang it, it does one or two moves, it does that one move that you can counter to immobilise it, he breaks out, it claggers, repeat.
I can see new players absolutely getting deleted by both though, especially the event quest for Tempered Deviljho in base World.
I think they're still great monsters in this game, Deviljho has some great interactions both in and outside of combat, and with the lore about how one Deviljho can destroy an ecosystem, having it in World feels right.

Poor Wulg at the start got absolutely scrongled
The guy used to genuinely terrify me back in the older gens. Wasn’t actually scared but there was still that feeling of apprehension when facing him or his regular version even w endgame gear and all. He was so relentless in his moveset and you could feel the fight becoming harder and harder as he gets more hungry.
Worldborne chilled him out a little in a way.
I see a lot of people complaining that his topple makes him way to easy / less scary but tbh, it’s just a fun mechanic. Heck, I want more unique combat elements like this on other fights, just make it a bit more tricky to pull off lmao
I agree! I like unique combat elements but I think it should be shortened and that it should be slightly altered. Being able to shut a monster down like this is a part of the rewards in MH afterall.
Deviljho was piss easy in mh4u along with rajang. He was an actual punching bag if you stayed underneath. I think teostra and the zinnys were dumbedown too much in the newer gens. (Risen teo is amazing and is almost as good as 140 teo).
A soultion would be to make his topple a pin attack that puts you inside his mouth
He's definitely way easier in World (though Tempered Jho event quest back in vanilla world's first few months gave me a migraine as a MH newbies, taught me why people feared him), but he's also a better fight imo, especailly Savage Jho. Savage Jho in the older games was almost the exact same only he had a speed buff which is a completely lazy way to make a monster harder (I think his pin attack was deadlier too or something but it was a minor thing).
Regular jho in high rank is unironically harder but that was also before tenderise. Savage you just always hit his huge chest even without tenderise and it works.

I’m assuming you’re talking about loosing max stamina due to extreme cold.
In that case you can counter that by consuming a hot drink.
Duration depended on the zone in older gens but I believe worldborne is 6~7 minutes or so maybe 10 idk
Hot drink, you get from peppers. You can also buy them from the same guy you get traps from.
