Hammer vs Fatalis but I'm in Pre-Fatalis Gear (Beginner Friendly!)

- I wanted to post this so people who are new to the Fatalis hunt with Hammer can watch. The focus of the hunt was to make one that is easy to follow for solo players. Happy Hunting!
Items you need: 1 Smoke Bomb is needed for the start of the second phase but 3 is good in case it flies in the later phases. You can use the smokes to make it land by using the smoke then standing in it. Bring Max Potions and Max Potion crafting mats.
//About the Clutch//
It can be used in some situations but the hunter might get hit depending on the following attack. When Fatalis is standing on 2 legs if it falls down quickly on you then it's most likely going to lead to a cart so I wouldn't recommend it if you're trying to beat the hunt.
//Phase 1//
Start off by grabbing a stone and equipping Rocksteady then claw onto the head and use the stone make it fall to the ground. By making it on all 4 legs like this you can safely tenderize with Rocksteady since it cannot fall on you now. After you tenderize both the head and chest, wall bang Fatalis and begin the fight! If you tenderize the chest again later in the first phase it will make phase 2 Roaming Ballista knockdown easier and do more damage.
//Phase 2//
Run out of the safe area and grab the binder nearest to you. After this run over to the roaming ballista and use a Smoke Bomb and Temporal Mantle. Once Fatalis begins to land start hitting it in the chest with the roaming ballista. Using the entire roaming ballista with Heavy Artillery 2 will cause it to fall over. Once it's fallen down run over to it and tenderize the head using the charged claw combo. Hopefully the head is broken now. If not that is okay! It will be close to breaking so just continue to bonk away until it breaks.
//Phase 3//
Start the phase by running to the right side of the castle and after dodging the roar (you can superman dive this) use the binder you picked up in phase 2 to bring Fatalis down. Turn around and grab the second binder so you can use it right after the first one. Run over and bonk Fatalis on the head a few times then run back and use the second binder. If Fatalis crawls over to you like in the video then proceed to jumping bonk Fatalis. If Fatalis didn't crawl to you that's okay, charge your hammer and perform the charged claw combo to re-tenderize the head.
If Fatalis flies in Phase 3 then use a Smoke Bomb to bring it down safely!!
If you're having trouble breaking the head make sure to wall bang as often as possible since it does a large amount of damage to the head!!

a completely normal (but good) run without too many smoke bombs and OP gears. I think this is what newbies are looking for, great job!
Well shit if this ain't just the most relatable run I've ever seen. No fancy "gotta learn to do that" stuff, just rudimentary success I can see myself recreating with stuff I already have. Really well done!
After a very long time I've come to the realization I don't think many of my hunts are relatable for most hunters so I wanted to make a hunt showing an easy to follow plan. I'm happy to be getting this kind of feedback on this hunt. Thank you so much!

There are the kind of runs we need to be seeing. Not after the runner already has fatalis gear.

@a1m3r67 nothing about my comment says "tutorial". a real speedrunner would play the game without using Fatalis geat. I simply stated the fact that most "speedruns" are AFTER the Hunter gets Fatalis gear. It's a better challenge and show of skill not using Fatalis gear.
Hey nimrods. The point of a speed run is completing a hunt on the shortest amount of time. Gear doesn't matter if your skills are useless.

There are speed runs that don't use Fatalis gear and then there are runs that do...
People need to see how to kill monsters faster without using Fatalis gear because it can take some time to reach the ability to farm Fatalis. It also helps other players learn how to play the game better. Fatalis gear is over powered in the way it let's you stack skills. Completing hunts fast using any gear that is pre-fatalis is a true show of skill. If you think I'm foolish then please posy a video of you speedrunning and using no Fatalis gear.

Bro you are such an inspiration. Watching your videos I started trying fatty hammer TAwiki, and even though I don't always have time to play, I always try to lower my time when I do. My best time is a 17:27 and I think I'll be satisfied with a sub16. Anyways, mhWilds is still far so I'll keep grinding. Keep up the good videos!

Thank you! It's the KT armor. I think if you just fight Kulve Taroth you should be able to unlock it as a Layer armor!
How do you get the damage numbers to show like that ?
Are there cosmetics (skins) in this game? or you get what you get from the armor that u're wearing?
There are cosmetics but that appearance is from in-game gear. Specifically it's layered armor that provides no stats but lets you customize your appearance so you're not locked to what your actual gear looks like.
I’m not sure how beginner friendly those cone breath punishes were- are you I-framing the ground explosion afterwards?

I wish I could dodge and hit him like that. My runs he never sits still, and is just going everywhere. I'm also terrible at remembering moves so trying to remember his move sets are the worst :(
Imma still trying to figure out how the "baiting" mechanic works, when i try to bait him, he just starts to run across the map and im chasing him like a lunatic.
The thing with the smoke bomb is absolute genius, btw, i would never thought about even using them in this particular fight(mostly cuz im caught chasing his a*s and the other half trying to survive...
...anyway in my opinion this is something i dare to call "Godlike" hammer gameplay! i love it
Thank you for the nice compliments. To bait easily I recommend standing near or under the chin. It's a little harder on hammer because you are often trying to hold your power charge but since you have to attacks you sometimes might need to do the overhead 1/ overhead 2 / golf swing combo for cone punish until you can find the proper position to out-distance like it is in this hunt. There are a lot of times where it doesn't do cones for me too, just so you don't think all my hunts look like this when I'm practicing.
try searching cone bait. dont bring cat to make it easier to control fatalis AI. dont stand to far (he wiĺl do fireball) to close he will do fire breath in a straight line. gotta find that sweet spot in between.

lol true. I'm sorry I know it's still a bit much for someone's first attempt since they will likely start trying to beat it before MR 100 but really my feeling is the MR requirement is way too low for this quest and it should be at least 100 which would give the hunter access to all the upgrades and augments I'm using.

@@peep0705you need elemental against alatreon if you want to survive the judgement* otherwise you can still go with braky weapon, die to judge but kill him faster because you are dealing more dmg

Im a hammer main, been getting my ass kicked by Fatalis. I spend like 90% of the fight healing. I just cant get a grip on his moves enough to know when to go in for hits and the positioning.

why are your damage numbers so high?
What screen/resolution/etc settings - mod perhaps(?) - are you using to make the cam go further back and almost overhead even when you're right next to it?
For really large monsters, all I really see is its foot in front of me. It's hard to position without rotating my view or taking a step back a bit to get a "bigger picture." 😅
Resolution is 4k. There is a mod list in the description. You can adjust your camera settings ingame to Far to see more and you can turn on Player Silhouette if you're dealing with some big monsters that block the view of your character.
Am I blind or something? But that much uptime on the head with hammer and not a single stun?
Fatalis is immune to stuns

It's a modded hairstyle on Nexus called Longer Wild Ponytail.
Honestly it has always been that way in monster hunter, you dont need all the meta decos or gear to have a successful hunt, in the end it comes down to knowledge of the monster and your skill with your chosen weapon.
Sure meta stuff lets your end hunts in under 5 minutes but who wants that anyways ? Having a 15 minute hunt is way more enjoyable at least for me.

find it odd that every fatalis run out there regarless of if theyre running full fatalis or not shows their equips at the end, which you, suspiciously, did not.

True! I was more concerned with getting a good picture than showing off the set. It shows I'm wearing 3 pieces of Teo for the Masters Touch set and 2 pieces of Goldian for Divine Blessing Secret. I put what slots are using what armor in the description if you want to copy 💪

But "safely tenderize when on the ground" is not true. He can still kill you by moving instantly. And sorry, the way Fatalis moves in your video is just not experience I have. He gives literally no openings.
Thanks for the input. My experience with tenderizing on all 4's is that if you start the tenderize animation during one of Fatalis's attack it's very unlikely it should be able to cart you. Using Rocksteady has a massive damage reduction built in plus the Health Boost and Divine Blessing skills should be enough to safely get through this but as always, really bad RNG can be a factor. If you tenderize when it's on 2 legs there is a high chance it will flop down and squish you. The squish is avoidable but the timing is very tight so I don't want to show this since I think it's less consistent and more likely to cause the hunter to cart.
Some attacks you can safely tenderize during the standing animation include cones, sweeping beam attacks or downward breaths (although if the timing isn't right it's easy to get hit with a follow up beam). When it's on all 4s nearly all attacks can be safely tenderized if using Rocksteady except for the Fireball and Fly which is kind of the known 1 shot ability of Fatalis for phase 1 and phase 2. In phase 3 it's replaced with the Triple Charged fireball when enraged and during this the head cannot be tenderized, the chest can be though!

Still the amount of cone attacks you had in your run are insane. Nothing like how my Fatalis moves. I know about baiting, so it seems I'm doing something wrong. Needless to say that having to bait out a specific move is kind of a weird design.

Players, you just need to git gud. Even with No armors and Decors, you can easily beat Fatalis as long as youre good at dodging and timing. My friends and I defeated Fatalis with only Guild Armors and Safii Weapons. I suggest you hunt fatalis with 2 Switch Axe Users, 1 HBG user and 1 Longsword or Greatsword user for max dps. Switch axe users should aim for the head with the clutch explosion thingy move and HBG user should use Sticky 3.
