    That paint job is stunning.
    Sadly, it will likely wear out with the loose fit bearings. They are supposed to be interference fit for a reason. The imbalance will cause vibrations that will reduce its effectiveness.

    • @jl3390
      @jl3390 3 роки тому +10

      Have to agree with you here. He should not have removed any material from the spindles for exactly that reason.

    • @dogsarebest7107
      @dogsarebest7107 3 роки тому +1

      @@jl3390 When he turns the grinder off at 17:33 you can literally see the spindles jumping around like a mm, when it was running the vibrations were intense. If he decided he was going to.. machine the shafts smaller, he should have pressed on a bushing or sleeve to bring them back up to spec. Or try to find oversized bearings. At least swapping the bearings will be easy in the future, they'll fall right out!

    • @Gaba-oo4qb
      @Gaba-oo4qb 2 роки тому +1

      That’s what stumped me too. It is clear when the bearings were removed, they were removed by force but put back in with no force. All machinery assemblies that contained bearings that I have seen had the bearings always pressed fit over the shafts. Don’t really see the point in a bearing spinning itself around the shaft at 100s of RPM

    It's fascinating to see these solid workshop machines Metabo made back then in the 70s and 80s..and probably long time before...They were made to last for life. They also had an engine version with 1400/2800 rpms. Wonder how you managed to get the spindle run perfectly. I have tried to find old catalog material on these Metabo pro tools..but so fare with out success! Thanks for sharing your work..an inspiration and help for all of us, who want to keep the best top tools from the past in life..instead of supporting the continous flow of short life-cycle shit made by cheap labor in the low income parts of the world. Lets stop trashing the world with poor new products! :-)

    Визуально сделано просто отлично и красиво ! А вот технически, вал прослабил, подшипники сами заскочили. Хорошо видно когда одевал на вал 14,26 минута , заскочили легко двумя пальчиками одел ,вместо насадки . И когда смазывал вал на 15,35 минуте отлично видно как вал болтается. НО как ЭКСПОНАТ выглядит очень красиво. ( надеюсь мастер не обидится на правду , понимаю такой новый ротор не найти ) Спасибо !!

      Думаю, даже если начнет подшипник разбивать, можно подобрать подшипник с чуть меньшим диаметром, и под этот диаметр сточить вал, чтобы плотно садился подшипник.

    A mistake machining down the bearing surface on the shafts,
    1. nobody will see the internal part,
    2. those bearings slid on too easily, they should be an interference or press fit to work properly (they are now loose as is evident from the wobbling, vibrating shaft when the machine is turned on at the end), an engineer should know that. In the lathe and polished with steel wool or high grit emery paper would have been better. I would also have taken the plastic seal from the bearing and put a good quality grease in it (replacing the rubbish they give you) and then replaced the seal.

      There was a balancing problem in the mill. it works very well right now. I started using this tool myself, you can see it in the last video. Finally, projecting each work to the camera is a separate job and a difficult job.

      @@meinemechaniker ctiley2212 is correct in what he is saying. What you did with the shaft is completely pointless there was no need to do that. The vibration was so bad that it made the camera go all funny.
