homesick for a homeland ive never even set foot on. being born in Australia obviously i love this country but i really appreciate these vids of my homeland and its beauty and the beautiful indigenous people of the isles.
Not long ago i found your channel and honestly i am in awe of your strength and bravery ❤ your going to experience such a positive and fulfilling life just because of your awesome attitude towards everything. So many people will learn so much from you and this channel, even may give me the confidence to try solo camping one day ❤
Thank you so much for your lovely comment, this is why I love making videos to get feedback like this - it really means a lot ❤️ I believe in you to go for a solo camp - you won’t regret it! :)
I love your videos and I think you are a very inspiring person. I did the NC500 solo last year at age 63. I know I wouldn't have had the confidence to do it at your age. Keep on doing what you are doing.
I wish I was younger and on my own with my fur baby to do this, at 62 I’m a tad old now, x keep it up, your smile is infectious and your positive attitude is inspiring to all❤️
You are so engaging. Never stop smiling, even through all the rain. Done much of Scotland in good weather and it is 100 times better than in bad weather. You are much to be admired. Love your videos.
It takes some folk a lifetime to discover what life and it’s adventure is about. You found it so young and all credit to you. it’s not luck, you’ve listened to yourself and chose an amazing path. It’s so great to see a young person with honesty, positivity, appreciation and a love of nature. Great storytelling and awesome videography. It took me until I was 31 to see the light and 25 years later still adventurising ! in what could be described as different to the norm, who wants to be normal ! Keep enjoying the journey and I’m sure I speak for everyone here you’re an inspiration
Gosh I love your videos so much, Becky! You're making me miss the wilds of Scotland so much (and thanks to you and your Cape Wrath videos from a few years ago, I ended up walking the trail last year too - one of the best experiences of my life). Thanks for always inspiring! 🥰
Thank you so much! Ahh that’s amazing, so lovely to hear that! I hope you had the best time on the CWT and I sure know what you mean by one of the best experiences! ❤️
Elizabeth, it was nice know Becky inspired your trip on the CWT! Your own video was such a treat for the eyes and like Becky’s makes my soul ache to get back up there. 😊
@@mattsmyname77 @GirlOutdoors Ahhhh I love the inspiration circles, hehe! Thank you, Matt! I can’t wait to return to Scotland - it truly feels like a second home to me. 🥰
I agree, the solitude and freedom that Caithness, Sutherland and Wester Ross provide are wonderful places for reflection and introspection. I did a solo backpacking trip from Tongue to Ullapool in the summer of 1981 aged 17 reliant on post-buses and whatever accommodation I could find. The landscape, yes its beautiful but savage. Awesome watching, the place hasn't really changed that much. enjoy!
It’s great that you can visit these places, and relay them to us. I love your spirit, I knew you couldn’t resist running into the waves. Thanks for the beautiful video!!
The magnificent beauty of Sandwood Bay, a place that if I ever depart this earth a kind soul would make the long trip and scatter my ashes among the windblown grains of sand and let my spirit be carried forth ❤
Thanks for sharing adventures with viewers of stunning places few would have opportunity visit. Your smile while hiking makes it sunny regardless the actual Scotland weather.
Hi Becky, you’re just a joy to watch 😊. I love the passion you have for your surroundings, the nature and your life style. You are always appreciated, positive and present in the moment. I did the NC500 nearly 30 years ago before it was even a thing and I laughed when you said how remote and wild it is….you should have seen it back then. When you could drive all day and not see anyone else and of course there wasn’t any of the lovely coffee and cake shops around like now. Looking forward to your next episode. Take care. 😊
Thank you so much! Ah wow, i barely saw anybody on the route back in Feb and most of the tourist attractions were shut so seemed pretty dead! Must of been nice doing it back then 😊
That was exceptional. Don't ever stop making videos this was magnificent. Stay true to your heart and enjoy life and were it leads you. Thanks for the video. Safe travels and be safe.
Lovely video, the journey you take is a truthful reflection of what Scotland is, when you push yourself beyond the usual comforts. You take the time to embrace the simple pleasures that you generously share with the viewer. The changing weather - like the landscape itself - is welcomed as part of the experience. So many senses are stimulated - and the delights of what’s around the next hill, or being thrilled by diving in a loch or climbing a peak, are treasures to you. You don’t seem daunted. Instead, you develop capacities to match the challenges you take on. Your wise insights are impressive to me - like the part where the return to a built environment feels a bit alien - as you recognise that the real world is the wilderness - and how you miss it. We know we are the visitors there - with sharpened awareness that respecting the elements and reading the landscape are vital. I’ve got a strong feeling that Scotland - at least the wild parts- have captured your heart. Maybe you will end up moving up here? You’d be a welcome addition to the community, I’m certain.
I shared this video with my Mum! she's recovering from a hip replacement surgery and she enjoyed very much your lovely video, as did I ! also shared with my sister and my 2 daughters. Love what you do 😎
Fantastic, That North West stretch is beautifully remote! And as you stated at around 19mins, just as the locals realise too, no unnecessary superficial nonsense and only being able to rely on nature, oneself, knowing-and living- within what life really is!
Whether it rains, wether it snows, whether there is sand everywhere, strong wind, cold temperature, name it, you are always smiling. You are truly inspiring. Thank you for that great quality video 😃! Take care 🥾🥾!!
I loved this video Becky, you can't fathom the depth of feeling that watching you on all your travels means to me. Regardless of what you post I find it mesmerizingly beautiful, whether it was demonstrating sharpening a knife of how you make a brush shelter, they have all pulled at my heart. I find your outlook on how you live your life, the way you desire to be most refreshing. My this summer fulfill all your dreams as you journey forth to amaze us your devoted followers.
I remember Smoo Cave when a Norwegian guy rowed people across to go deeper inside. I went in a 1971 petrol L.W.B. Land Rover maybe 30 years ago. Truck cab with canvass back, mattress in the back and no cooking facilities so pub meals. Did the area on a motorbike and camping some years later.
Just over a year to go until my own van life dream becomes reality...loving this series as Scotland is my first trip..thanks yet again for a wonderful film...the fire within burns yet stronger❤️👏👏👏
Can't wait for the Isle of Skye video. It's somewhere where I've always want to go. Looking forward to it Becky. Blessings to you on your journey there . Hope you enjoy yourself, 🙏
Scotland is majestic with it's wild mountains rivers and lakes. I have done the West Highland Way and the East Highland Way and would go back in a heart beat. Colin😀
Thank you so much Becky letting us all join you on this epic road trip, I felt your emotions too as you reminisced about the awesome CWT. Wish you many more happy adventures 😊 💫
Having a dip in the sea during that weather was mad but it's sort of your trademark. I'm glad you can live the dream whilst young enough to fully enjoy it.
Absolutely beautiful and wild area, thanks so much for sharing! Best wishes as you continue on your exploration and following your passion. This is truly a gift.
You are an amazing person! Just found your channel and I’m living this wonderful adventure that I’m unable to through you! Your life is what many of us wish for! Simple and free with no ties to anything. You do a spectacular job with your videos! New sub for sure! You mention that being in a beautiful, secluded area where you were is addictive. Your soul cries out for that. All our souls do. It brings you back to nature and the way it’s supposed to be.
Suilven is my favourite! The way it dominates the area north of Ullapool to Lochinver is extraordinary. One to do over two days and spend a night on the summit!
I just discovered your channel. You are a very talented story teller and videographer and of course Scotland is rugged and stunning. I definitely must spend times there. Keep up your excellent work. Greetings from Switzerland
Wonderful video. I've lost a lot of my vision due to Glaucoma, so I doubt I'll ever make a trip like this now, but I've learned to appreciate nature's beautiful views all the moor. I envy your youth and freedom. Good on you.
Really admire younger people who have a sense of adventure when there are so many distractions these days. I think many who watch this type of content perhaps envy a simpler life and admire those that have the guts to do it. Well done you…….👍🏻 you’ve seen more of Scotland 🏴 than me and I’ve lived here for 50yrs……shameful I know……
I agree totally with your sentiments about that area Beckie, and the Highlands in general. It gets into your very soul, nothing compares. I was up there last in 2017, climbed Ben Hope (and others) with a pal of similar age of 73. Doubtful I shall visit again, but got quite teary watching your lovely video. Thankyou. Ps., great fish and chips in Ullapool.
I have never discovered the west coast of the Highlands hostile and savage. I would never describe this area, anything like this. Far from it, peaceful and relaxing. Many years in the past yes it was hostile and savage with clan wars, but not today.
It certainly was isolated but if that’s what you crave, all power to your elbow. Shame about the weather but it didn’t seem to deter you. Enjoy your next part of your travels and see you later. Take care, keep safe. 💕 Dorset, UK
I’ve lived in Scotland all my life, but only really started to explore my country during Covid, because of travel restrictions. Me, my wife and our son realised how lucky we are to live in such a beautiful country.
Another great video, thank you Becky ❤ Loved the part about outlays, cruises and hotels! Less is definately more and that takes a character to see it and fall in love with it ❤ Loving your bright smile as you talk about your adventures, very infectious! Inspirational video 👌🏻
Just wanted to say I think you're channel is amazing. Being from Scotland and living down south, I often miss the Highlands and you took me there. Also spent some time in the Lake District so absolutely loving it. I've binge watched a few episodes now. You're an absolute pleasure to watch and so very impressionable for such a young woman 👏. I always fantasise about such a free life but I'm a family guy 😄 Maybe in the next life eh. Wishing you all the happiness and success. Thank you for sharing your adventures.
Loving following along on your journey round my homeland. If your interested my nephew Kevin Woods has completed 2 rounds of 282 Scottish Munros one summer and one winter, it was truly a wonderful journey. He might be someone you could catch up with. 😊
Great stuff Becky, looks like you’re having a blast up there. Both you and Jake have been a massive inspiration for me to get out there…so much so we’ve just finished converting our first van and are planning a summer of adventures with our young lad. Keep up the good work!
The North West of Scotland is amazing and you did it justice. I first visited with my parents in a caravan stopping mainly in laybys. We climbed Ben Hope which was my first munro, It was even more remote back in the 70s!.
Ben Hope is my first and only Munro at the moment! And I loved it. Did a video on my channel of our hike up there. And even though Iv got some weight to loose I still managed to hike up!
Absolutely amazing! Thank you for coming up and appreciating the real scotland and not just the tourist traps! Your videos are just jaw dropping and you yourself are so enthusiastic! Ive had a word with the locals up here and we'd love to make you and honorary Scot! Haha. Looking forward to your next vid!
Good to see you still up this way and enjoying it. Those of us who live up in the North of the Highlands really are the lucky few I have been roaming around up here for decades and it just gets better and better the older I get. I could never see myself ever wanting to live anywhere else. I do nip down south to Inverness from time to time but honestly even just popping down there makes me appreciate getting back up here afterwards. I see you might have taken some of my recommendations in your last video and decided to nip off course to explore around Dornoch and surrounding area. It’s a lovely area and often overlooked by many. Be careful on the hills on your own in or visibility though if you don’t have things such as a GPS, waterproof map, compass, lights, also always having people aware of your hike and who know what time you should be back at your car etc.. a lot of people get caught out up here, even groups of experienced climbers get caught off guard and mountain rescue have to come to their aid at times. I also wouldn’t worry too much about fresh food on the NC500. Heading the anti-clockwise route there are fully stocked stores at Dingwall, Alness, Invergordon, Tain, Dornoch, Golspie, Brora, Helmsdale, Wick, Thurso, Bettyhill, Tongue, Durness, Kinlochbervie, Lochinver, Ullapool etc.. even on the less rural parts of the route there’s always a store no more than a short drive away. Far enough to be a pain if you have to walk or get the bus but always close enough with a car. I look forward to seeing more of your travels soon. It’s been interesting watching your channel change over the years. It doesn’t seem that long ago when you first appeared here on YT but looking back it’s been a fair few years I have been subscribed and watching you roam around some cool places. Keep up the good work and keep enjoying the travels whilst ur young. I do far less travelling now days as I have kids, a business, life in general. That said I am lucky enough to live and breath the Highlands every day and even just doing the school run with the snow capped hills towering over the school, running my business and leaving at the end of the day to see the insane sunsets, driving along the coast to the local supermarket in all the weathers, even just sitting out the back of my house burning a few logs and watching the northern lights above me, well even regular old day to day life is just magic up here 🤟🏼
Amazing video of you're adventures across a totally unspoilt land, thank you so much for sharing it with us. Love watching all your videos they make me feel so relaxed and excited all in one emotion.
Your videos are magnificent. I am so impressed by your camera work and editing. I love your narration as well. Be safe, and keep up the good work. Doug

Great video Becky really enjoyed watching this whiles having breakfast Scotland is a fantastic place for some alone time and looks amazing keep living the dream mate atvb Jimmy 😎😎👍👍
Did Durness / Ullapool on two wheels a few times about ten years ago. Nowhere like it on a mid summers evening(when we used to actually get decent spells of summer up here). Just braw.
The far north west of Scotland, Assynt, is wonderful. Ullapool is MY town. Was up there withy wife visiting her sister and brother in law in January and, with luck, will go back later this year. How long ago was your Cape Wrath Trail walk? I remember starting to watch that series on a PREVIOUS visit to Ullapool. The Geopark is really interesting and when up there again, you should have a look at Knockan Crag - a stop on that coastal road northbof Ullapool - REALLY important for geologists! A good video, as usual. Thanks!
I know all too well how remote this area is. I was on a trip with my mum and step dad and we had a break down at the bottom of Ben Hope. I had to walk/run for miles to finally get phone reception. We then had a 5 hour wait on the nearest recovery truck getting us and also a taxi coming to take us to Achiltibuie, looks up Ben Hope to that small town for an idea of distance for a taxi, thankfully it was covered by the AA. Was some drive, pitch black but the headlights kept catching the deer running across the road, unbelievable amount of them. Stac Pollaidh is one of my favourite little hills in Scotland. Everyone that enjoys the hills should climb that little beauty if in the area. I also want to climb Ben Hope (feel like I need to have the break down) and Suilven is on my to do list.
Seeing you taking these off road trails in a 4wd was something I would have liked to do 24 years ago, but not having internet then, I did not know they existed.
A vista that hasn't changed in centuries, unspoilt by man. Mother Nature is majestic
She sure is! Thanks for watching 🙏
Umm, the NC500 route has seen massive pressures asserted on it due to the influx of visitors. Whilst numbers are up, per visitor spend in the area is not what you think, a lot of people shop in the city or from home before venturing, then leaving the local infrastructure to clean-up behind. Increased visitors also impacts on the natural environment too. The roads are narrow, more narrow than you expect, and put numerous vehicles, especially inexperienced people in campers, and it's chaos at times.
Not that it's featured, the Old Man on Skye, footfall has caused a massive negative impact on the landscape to the extent where path networks have been installed to corral people and try to keep the damage to a minimum.
Spoilt by sheep believe it or not. They eat all the trees so they can’t grow.
homesick for a homeland ive never even set foot on. being born in Australia obviously i love this country but i really appreciate these vids of my homeland and its beauty and the beautiful indigenous people of the isles.

You are creating videos as like i want to see always. You are living as i want to live,,, love your content.
This is in my bucket list, hopefully in the future. Awesome video!

Did Durness / Ullapool on two wheels a few times about ten years ago. Nowhere like it on a mid summers evening(when we used to actually get decent spells of summer up here). Just braw.
Great video Becky. Loved it 🏴🏔️🙏🏻
Love your content. Such a nice lady. Content is great. So much look forward to more. Take care out there x
Thanks!
In recently found your channel it's so relaxing I've been binging non stop thanks for such beautiful content ❤❤❤
Thanks a lot! I really appreciate that 😊
Hi Becky love the Scenery and the water 💦 falls it’s Amazing Awesome Beautiful Gorgeous 😊
Lovely Video! 😁 I freaking love the music in the intro! Please take care of yourself!
Love love your Adventures pls keep enjoying the Simple but Epic Life❤
Seeing you taking these off road trails in a 4wd was something I would have liked to do 24 years ago, but not having internet then, I did not know they existed.
Lovely to meet you too.😊
