I think I'm entering the market for a smartwatch more seriously and these videos are tremendously helpful. Always entertaining and packed full of information. Keep up the great work!
I bought a gen 4 just on Saturday... so I returned it today for the Gen 5. Gotta be honest, I liked the design of the Gen 4 better but this one is still pretty nice. It’s also miles faster than the Gen 4 and I only had it for 2 days... lmao.
I just picked mine up today to replace my Fossil Sport and it's fantastic! With 1GB of memory the OS is buttery-smooth and it runs circles around the Sport. Love it!
Thank you so much Mr. Mobile for making the specifications card with nice high contrast text. I've been begging you to do that for a while now since I wasn't able to read your previous style of specification card. The light text on a dark background is perfect. Thanks again.
Jumped from Android Wear (Wear OS) early 2018 for the Galaxy Watch 46mm and have been very impressed with it, however, I do crave a return to Wear OS and this looks really promising. I look forward to your full review. Supporting your channel from over in the UK, keep up the great reviews 👌✌👍
@Sowande good to know that you are happy with it. A couple of questions, how is the speaker volume, is it pretty loud? The speaker on Fossil Q Explorist was pretty good and I am curious if they have made any improvements, also have fluid is the latest Wear OS? Also Google Assistant was buggy as hell when I last used it, so I am hoping that has improved....thanks in advance for any help it would be appreciated as I am in a position to grab one directly from Fossil.....like now! Cheers 👍✌
I just got my Carlyle about a month ago, and I have to say I absolutely Love it. My battery life is so much better than the Gen 4 that I had, and without the back falling off. This happened to me 2 times, and the battery wouldn't charge 1 time. Fossil took my old Gen 4 as a trade in for this current Gen 5, and I couldn't be more happy with my purchase.
I'm a believer that a watch doubles as a bit of wrist jewelry, especially for men who don't wear other kinds of jewelry. And for my tastes, this design is perfect. Classy and classic looking, and among the best looking smart watches. For me, it's classy looks are enough to overlook that Android Wear isn't quite as good as the software on the Apple Watch and Galaxy Watch. (I'm still wearing the OG Huawei Watch after almost 4? years and still loving it!)
I’m so tired of these watch screens not going all the way to the metal frame. That empty black circle is ugly. Make it like the moto360, that was truly a beautiful watch
@UCjrUHtSVUiy-UyuLAGpXR-w Yeah that one tempted me, and shows that what I'm talking about is definitely possible. But I won't buy a watch without standard lugs.
Speed Racer Don’t even get me started. The Fossil Sport is the worst example of this. Whether you get the 41mm or 43mm case the screen size is the same, the only difference is the size of the bezel going around the screen. Why do they do this, it takes so much away from the experience. And I absolutely hate displays with the flat tire.
hi dude, i like the combination you are using for this watch, so you got the Silve? one with the Metal , and changed it with this awesome looking brown bracelet? Can you tell me wich one excactly is the brown one and where to get it? I am looking for exact the combination you are wearing. thanks
I just searched for a smartwatch for my Google pixel 3xl today and noticed this watch came out a day ago, plan to purchase it next week! So excited!!! 🤧😩♥️
My first watch was a fossil, I really enjoy it for his quality, 15 years later I still have it, but I don’t know if the smart one has the same reliability
Well, my friends Gear s3 just got an One UI update, and it works like a new watch. Battery can be changed easily, if needed. And the watch was released 3 years ago.
I'm actually kind of glad I got this my gen 3 diedlast Wednesday went into the Fossil store with my receipts since it was still under warranty and I was able to get the Gen 5 for only $66 definitely worth it.
I was waiting for this review! I'm so excited for this one! I was in a fossil store yesterday, just before they put them out on the floor. I think I really want this one! I'm also gonna get a mesanger bag from them... Because it's cool.
Can't wait for the full review! What I am interested in regarding this particular watch: 1. Google Pay - if I can use it on my smartphone then it will work 100% with my card on the watch? 2. Pedometer, activity tracker (move your ass mode!), Google Fit - can I use it as 1 out of 2 smart wearables and combine the results? 3. Notifications from phone - any limitations regarding apps? 4. Resistance - water, dust, scratch? 5. Customization - I prefer leather strap to bracelet.
Frankly my biggest gripe with WearOS at the moment is it is absolutely buggy as hell. My ticwatch E regularly disconnects from my smartphone forcing me to reboot both to get reconnected and as of a few updates ago, WearOS no longer buzzes my watch when I have an incoming call which has lead to OH SO MANY missed calls as a result. It may have better features but the important underlying framework is even buggier than it was back when it was known as Android Wear and it's a damn shame.
@Cash Money I've stopped using my Z2 now since the battery life dropped right off after all the heavy use but I did use a number of custom roms while I had it.
@MrMobile sir you are the best, Informative, entertaining and satisfying youtube content creator that i ever seen in my life...Thumbs up for you best editing and wish you will hit 1M soon and go beyond🔥🔥🔥
Does it still have the problem with the knob getting in the way when working out? Try doing push ups, and not activating the google assistant or turning off the watch by mistake. If that's still an issue, then It's a pass for me, and the reason my gen 3 just lies in a box somewhere
The back of my gen 4 explorist came off, but I didn't know it was such a common problem. I pulled the watch off the charger and the back part stayed on it! Fossil's customer service was great though.
Is fossil garrett gen 5 better or emporio armani connected hybrid smartwatch 2 better? What is the difference between hybrid and gen 5? I cant decide which one to go for. Pls let me know.
How many days will the watch last if i use it only as a watch? That is all I do with my smatwatches excet when I am out traiing that I explicitly activate monitoring.
8Gb of storage!? A new competitor has arisen... Looking forward to your final review, with those battery features. Some features are simply non-negotiable, and battery is top.
@Sowande Thanks for the update! I think the battery features will make or break this device (for most people). 2 days is... weak though unfortunately common. I'll sooner buy a Garmin, Suunto, or Galaxy Watch (but 8GB of music would be fantastic).
Here's my own personal testimonial to Fossil's excellent customer service I further can attest to Fossil's great customer service. I had their gen 2 smartwatch, and while a bit bulky, and sometimes a little sluggish, it still was a cheap (It was $80 factory refurbished) and relatively good entry into the world of smartwatches. That was the case, until one day, where the seal for the screen failed (only a few months into use) and the whole display panel popped off the chassis. One drive to the nearest Fossil store later, and I was given two options: I could send my watch in for a free repair since it was still under warranty, or I could exchange to a factory refurbished gen 4 (the latest model at the time) for 50% off! This combined with an ongoing sale meant that I was able to snag a normally $179 watch for $80! So overall I wasn't disappointed Fossil's service, I was quite impressed and amazed how much they were willing to care for me, even though I had one of their cheapest, outdated models.
Had a problem with my fossil gen2 watch a week ago. Customer service told me that it's irrepairable and I just need to pay NZD130 to replace my gen2 with a new gen5 :)
What color is the stainless steel one? I can't find that silver color on the internet. It will be release too? Or it was just something like a sample for you.. Thank you!
Thank you for your insightfull content i love the way you do your videos its educational insightfull yet with a sense of visual continuaty that keeps me inquiring on your new videos so.keep.up the great work
Where did you find that leather band? I like that look a LOT more than any of the Gen 5 offerings. Can't wait for the full review! Need to see if it's worth upgrading from my Gen 3.
I got a gen 4 last year, I think it's one of the best designs! BUT I noticed a very bad mistake on this watch: since the bottom part is made from plastic, glass and a metal ring ( for charging purposes) it detaches very easily from the the back when exposed to warm environments! Mine did that in one week, making it impossible to use this watch... I think They should solve this problem on gen 5 by making the bottom full metal, but they didn't as shown on your video .. that's very bad.. see 1:54
It's weird that your review unit seems to be stainless steel, yet I'm unable to find a stainless steel option available to purchase. Only "Smoke" and black.
Got the Samsung Gear S3 Frontier when it was $100 and change and I think I'm good for awhile. The spec bumps are nice but Wear OS still lacking for me. Here's hoping that Wear OS will improve very soon.
I love my watch but I hate how low the speaker is my hauwei watch gen 1 has a speaker that was 2x louder then my current fossil I heard it was lowered in a update but I can't seem to find a way to make mine louder even at full volume it's barely coherent
Still patiently sitting at the table of tech waiting for the Lenovo Smart tab review. Hopefully it hits before the Samsung Tab 6 review comes up in a few.
