The Motoz weight here says Rear for both, I'm guessing one is the front? I've been looking at switching from the Motoz Dual Venture (I've run 2 full tires down) to the Mitas since I get such a terrible wobble at anything above 80 MPH. We do a lot of riding in Montana where the speed limits are 80, and I've had some questionable times passing semi's on the highway.
@@manybikes I'm riding the NMBDR in September. It's gonna take me 1k paved miles just to get to the start of the BDR and then get back. I'm needing 1 set of tires that I won't have to change out before I head back home, so I'm very curious on how the Mitas tires ride and wear.
Hi Kyle. I got to the stage where I decided to fit motoz gps on my 1190 back tyre. Whats you view on front tyre between ax41 and gps? Will ax41 give same performance as gps onroad and will gps offroad give same performance as ax41? Thanks
@@CorneVisagie-x4u the AX41 is my preferred pairing. The GPS front is a good dry gravel road / hardpack tire. Any more aggressive terrain than that, I opt for the Dual Venture, AX41 or XT+ front tires.
Good review, but...For those of us running tubes in adv tires, it would be very helpful to comment on how stiff the sidewalls are as in which ones will be a major PIA to service roadside w/ small hand tools 100 mi from the nearest shop. None of you tire review guys seem to factor that in, which I assume is because you only use a tire mount station to install your tires 99% of the time.

Just completed 9000kms on the Mitas Enduro Trail XT+ Dakar F&R, incredible grip. I rode from Germany to Mauritania and back, grip in sand, piste amd rocks was amazing.
Just looking back maybe 2 years ago at a big comparison chart you made and the Dunlop Trailmax Mission was 2nd place overall. Just purchased a new Transalp and am considering them. They look like a good choice for 50/50.
Thank you for your inquiry. While the TrailMax Mission is advertised as a 50/50 tire it could use a little more LUG in the rear. They are great tires most places but not so much in deep sand or mud. Another great (and less expensive option) is the Mitas E07 or E07+ tires. Of course, I love my Motoz... The ADV rear and the Dual Venture front would be great too... or even the GPS.

Any comments on mounting the 2 Track rear tire backwards? I've heard rumblings that it actually performs better in soft/sandy conditions mounted backwards but can't find any reviews.
Hummm interesting. It's a directional tire so there may be safety issues doing that... depending on the manufacturer process. That is interesting though...
I thought they were going to have a 90/100/21 Mitas? You have 2 different fronts which one should I order for a T7? It will be interesting to see if it wiggles like a RallZ on the street.
The 90/100-21 is still in development. The two 90/90-21 versions are Dakar and non-Dakar. The Dakar is more robust. The non-Dakar front and Dakar rear are shown in this video.
30 psi riding single with zero luggage. Full pressures if I ride 2-up or loaded. I commute daily... and ride ADV on the weekend which is close to 50/50. Probably averages to 90/10 with the commute added in.
The big question for me is ease of getting the rear off the rim. Any rear tyre is useless if you can't easily get it off the rim to fix a puncture. I don't want to be carrying round giant bead-breaking levers, just pair of lightweight levers. Generally the 150s are a TL version which means a stiffer carcass which means a pig to break the seal on the road side and get the tyre off to fix a flat. So it would be useful to know how easy they are to get on and off the rim with just lightweight levers. I'm currently running a MT21 in a 140 on the rear of my T7 for that very reason, it's very easy to get off the rim on the trail to fix a flat. I've thought of getting the XT+ in a 140 for the same reason, but would obviously prefer the 150. So would be nice to know what the XT+ is like regards getting it on and off the rim. Thanks
@@manybikes it’s not so much the mounting it’s breaking the seal and getting it off the rim when fixing a puncture on the trail - all very easy to do at home with the rabaconda, but how easy is it to get the tyre off the rim? Not sure what you mean about 2Track, not sure what that is
The 2Track is Tusks new tire, mentioned in this video you commented on. It is a nightmare of a tire, even with the Rabaconda! All of the 140's will be easier to break with manual tire irons than the 150's. All of the 150's are reinforced and meant to carry heavier loads. Stiffer sidewalks, more robust carcass... the works.

I’m just about to release a vid on my own channel as I don’t get the point in fitting tyres you can’t get off on the trail to fix a puncture. Seems many don’t really know how to fix a flat on the trail and have never tried to get the tyre off at home, never mind doing it once you’ve committed to a long distance trip and limping home isn’t an option. I think it will be very close in performance and the front tire will rival Motoz wear. The rear XT+ I think will have slightly less mileage than the Motoz. 2500 miles in now and it's at least 1/3 worn in the rear (have not measured but looks...)
So I was fully sold on the Tusk until Texas. Strong diagonal wind and crappy Texas roads spelled wobble at high speeds. Did not like. Also the gravel roads were so slippery I thought someone robbed the knobs from my knobbies! I don’t know if the other knobbies on the list would have done better tho. My testing of the Tusk tires in NM had me absolutely sold on them. Here in TX I was having so much trouble, i was second guessing the air pressure. 33psi front and rear.

Any mention of silica or cold/wet performance on the Mitas? Haven't heard great things about the Tusk tires in cold weather (40F and below). Price is MUCH better in Canada for the Mitas.

2 track looks like an interesting tire, and would interest me a lot if the price wasnt so close to the rallz. The rallz has been an amazing rear to me, and is currently 13 dollars more than the 2 track from the only site that sells tusk. I will say the fact that you have tried the 2 track and are comparing it to motoz and mitas has me very excited to see how they turn out. Also excited to see how the new Mitas compare, as the pricing in the us compared to Europe generally makes them less interesting, but these may be worth their money.
@@manybikes So i dont know why, but looking around the internet it seems to be only the 140/80 18 TT Rallz that is super cheap. everything else comes up with the price difference your talking about and makes the 2track very interesting.
@@TheDacane the 140 is cheap as it is a tube type tire that does not have the structure of the tubeless tires. Much less goes into the makeup of that specific tire. The 2 Track is on recall but I can get you a deal on a Motoz Adv or a Mitas XT+ as an alternative.

I ordered a Motoz Tractionator Adventure rear tire for my Tiger 900(from your site). Unfortunately, Motoz doesn't have the correct size for my front tire. Would the AX41 be a good match? I heard it grips good, but the rear burned out a little too quickly, and the front is better wear-wise. (I ask because I already have a AX41 front tire in my garage)
Got ya! You were looking for the extra 10% sidewall height. Motoz makes the 19" in a 100/80-19 which works great on your Tiger. The AX41 is a great tire, one of my favorites. The rear tires melt off motorcycles, but the front tires last upwards of 5k miles. Tractionator Adventure Rear + AX41 Front is a fantastic combo. The next front I would recommend is the Anakee Wild.
Great video! I'm debating on a front tire for my Tiger 1200 rally pro. I have a Motoz rallz and don't like it because it's too loud and doesn't feel good on the street. I'm primary concerned about cornering on the street, quiet, and not washing out off road due to the heavy bike. I'm considering the anakee wild front in 90/90/21 but would love to hear your opinion. I'm concerned with the side hill traction of the dualventure. I'm 60 on road and 40 off. Thank you!

Working on it!!! Do you have any specific questions? Tusk is least expensive and it's harsh on the highway but amazing off road. The Mitas front is Amazing and the rear is good. The Motoz is KING all around.
@@HankOnWheels I just rolled over 3500 miles on the Mitas. The front is getting LOUD, the trailing edges are showing major wear… I need to flip the front tire so the wear can even out. I love the front tire, better than the Motoz fronts. The rear is really good, but not as good as the Motoz Rallz. Can't go wrong with either really.
fitted ET XT+ on my 690 and the confidence i get from the front tyre is massive , also very good on tar too , can hold 80+ mph very well for an 80/20 very happy with them
I totally agree! I really like that front tire! I have had it in triple digits without issue. The rear tire does swap sides a bit in the really loose stuff... but I'll take it!
In going over to a 1.85/3.0 tubed by the end of the year. I'm pretty sold already on the new mitas in the front. Unsure about the rear, mitas's new xt plus if the obvious choice, but I'm thinking about mitas's enduro i/t rear too.
@@houjous5131 for a big bike the only true knobby that will hold up is Motoz Desert HT. Don’t worry that it’s a HT if you’re not in the desert. It’s really the most aggressive tire you can put on one of these bikes that will hold up decently. Haven’t ran one but if I were riding 90% or more off road for sure I would get one of those. I think you gotta see what they have that available in a 150, since they are rated for big bikes at that point. Not just rubber compound but carcass construction is important for the high weight and horsepower. Guys definitely run dirt bike knobbies in 140 size and sometimes with narrower rims too and they hook up awesome just be prepared to change them often, and likely more susceptible to flats. Idk if you know NonekingADV but he’s got a couple 990s and does some sick rides. He and also others I’ve seen that run the big bikes looking for ultimate off-road performance go with the mitas enduro trial xt+ front, and motoz desert HT rear

The wear on the 2Track I am running is the same. The middle third of the lugs are wearing but the center lugs are holding in.
I found that to be intersting.
Have you ever tested the Mitas MC-23 Rockrider 40/60 tire? I'm very curious about this tire and applicability on a 800cc+ bike.

Trailmax mission can be a bit disappointing off-road

The XT+ 150 is more robust than the MT21 but it's way softer / easier to mount over the Motoz and don't even contemplate the 2Track!

Here the RallZ and the 2 Track are about $100 different in price! Big difference. Now with the Recall, we will see what happens.

I ordered a Motoz Tractionator Adventure rear tire for my Tiger 900(from your site). Unfortunately, Motoz doesn't have the correct size for my front tire. Would the AX41 be a good match? I heard it grips good, but the rear burned out a little too quickly, and the front is better wear-wise. (I ask because I already have a AX41 front tire in my garage)

Got ya! You were looking for the extra 10% sidewall height. Motoz makes the 19" in a 100/80-19 which works great on your Tiger. The AX41 is a great tire, one of my favorites. The rear tires melt off motorcycles, but the front tires last upwards of 5k miles. Tractionator Adventure Rear + AX41 Front is a fantastic combo. The next front I would recommend is the Anakee Wild.

Great video! I'm debating on a front tire for my Tiger 1200 rally pro. I have a Motoz rallz and don't like it because it's too loud and doesn't feel good on the street. I'm primary concerned about cornering on the street, quiet, and not washing out off road due to the heavy bike. I'm considering the anakee wild front in 90/90/21 but would love to hear your opinion. I'm concerned with the side hill traction of the dualventure. I'm 60 on road and 40 off. Thank you!

What you are looking for is called Bridgestone AX41, only downside is has low longevity
The AX41 is a personal favorite. Fantastic tire. Front wears well but the rear disappears pretty quickly.
Would love to see a follow-up with your on-road and off-road experience with these. I'm about to order a new set and the Motoz and Mitas are in the list of posslbles.
Working on it!!! Do you have any specific questions? Tusk is least expensive and it's harsh on the highway but amazing off road. The Mitas front is Amazing and the rear is good. The Motoz is KING all around.

@@HankOnWheels I just rolled over 3500 miles on the Mitas. The front is getting LOUD, the trailing edges are showing major wear… I need to flip the front tire so the wear can even out. I love the front tire, better than the Motoz fronts. The rear is really good, but not as good as the Motoz Rallz. Can't go wrong with either really.

fitted ET XT+ on my 690 and the confidence i get from the front tyre is massive , also very good on tar too , can hold 80+ mph very well for an 80/20 very happy with them
I totally agree! I really like that front tire! I have had it in triple digits without issue. The rear tire does swap sides a bit in the really loose stuff... but I'll take it!

Not quite, similar tread pattern for the rear tho. Search “mitas discontinued tires” and you will find what they say is the equivalent to each!
Tread wise is basically e09 rear and e13 front

Tread wise they look similar to teh E-09 adn e-13 BUT they are completely different in carcass construction and tread compound. They are NEW tires.
In going over to a 1.85/3.0 tubed by the end of the year. I'm pretty sold already on the new mitas in the front. Unsure about the rear, mitas's new xt plus if the obvious choice, but I'm thinking about mitas's enduro i/t rear too.
Depends what bike. If you’re riding something big with 100+ hp that i/t will last only a few rides

@@houjous5131 for a big bike the only true knobby that will hold up is Motoz Desert HT. Don’t worry that it’s a HT if you’re not in the desert. It’s really the most aggressive tire you can put on one of these bikes that will hold up decently. Haven’t ran one but if I were riding 90% or more off road for sure I would get one of those. I think you gotta see what they have that available in a 150, since they are rated for big bikes at that point. Not just rubber compound but carcass construction is important for the high weight and horsepower. Guys definitely run dirt bike knobbies in 140 size and sometimes with narrower rims too and they hook up awesome just be prepared to change them often, and likely more susceptible to flats. Idk if you know NonekingADV but he’s got a couple 990s and does some sick rides. He and also others I’ve seen that run the big bikes looking for ultimate off-road performance go with the mitas enduro trial xt+ front, and motoz desert HT rear
Totally agree! The Mitas XT+ in the front with the Desert HT in the rear, that would be a fantastic 90/10 combo.
I just saw your new video. We just got back from Big Bend,and my stock Karoos didn't do well at all. It was more the front tire than the back. I've been watching your videos for a while now,and think I'm sticking with the Adventure rear and dual venture on the back from Motoz.
