  • In this video, I'm talking through three things that I bought almost immediately after I picked up my new 2023 Nissan Frontier Pro-4X. I've seen some people asking about recommendations for things like this in a lot of the 3rd gen groups, so I figured I'd put a quick video together with some ideas for must do, budget mods for the new Frontier.
If you think I missed anything, drop your ideas in the comments below!
Here are links to the items I mention in the video to make finding them easy.

Appreciate it Ken! I actually have recorded a video talking through the suspension set up, but since I shot that, I changed it up a bit and added a longer shackle in the rear, so I think I'll have to shoot a new video the next time I go out, haha.

Do you have nay recommendation for a roof & bed rack that I can put lumber on and then use for overlanding (Nissan Frontier)? Thanks for the videos!

No problem! There are only a few roof racks, but there are quite a few bed racks. As far as putting lumber on them, you could probably do that on any of them as long as you properly secure it. I personally run an Xtrusion bed rack and I love it. Super customizable and it's relatively easy to add and remove stuff from it.

So, really like the front grill of the older ones. Wish they would have kept it, with that said how you feeling about this truck? I’m ready to pull the trigger on one. Thanks for your vids and info

I'm loving it. I've put about 7500 miles on it now and a large chunk of those was over 2 weeks going from IN to Wyoming and running the Wyoming BDR (all offroad) for 2 weeks and it's performed flawlessly and been so much nicer and more comfortable than my old second gen. Really looking forward to owning (and exploring) with this truck for a long time to come!

So happy I found your channel. I have a 2022 Pro-4x that I'm starting to do some mild upgrades to. I see the comments below about axle breather relocation kit. May I ask which you recommend and how necessary you feel that is? Thank you!

I’m so glad that it’s helpful! I’m loving my new truck and they are fantastic buys. I had an ARB relocation kit sitting around and it worked great. Here’s the one I used: amzn.to/47JtNUF

Oh yeah, and as for how necessary it is, if you do water crossings I wouldn’t go in without one. If you never go through water, you can probably skip it but it’s nice insurance to have just in case.

After owning 2nd and 3rd gen, how much better do you think the ride quality is on 3rd gen? Also, are the seats much better than the 2nd gen? Those seats look like the ones in my 2019 Rogue. If they are then they are way better. Great videos.

    • @AllThingsOverlanding

Thanks! I think the ride quality is way better in the 3rd gen. It still rides like a truck, but it's comfortable. The seats are WAY better. They're honestly probably one of my favorite parts of the truck. I drove 21 hours each way to Wyoming in July and I was super comfy the whole time with no fatigue. I honestly love the truck and feel like it's a big upgrade over the last gen (even though they're mechanically very similar).
