Thanks for sharing your story. I also notice that the commercials for the medications so often cause worse conditions than the thing they are prescribed for. Yikes! I have NEVER had a doctor talk to me about curing anything. My doctor just couldn't believe my blood work was so good (I'm 75 years old), so the next time she ordered TONS of blood work to try to find something. Guess what? I really WAS that healthy. hahahaha

I started eating healthy when I was diagnosed with MS in 2001 but wasn’t vegan( I ate chicken and fish but no beef or dairy) until 2016 I read the Engine 2 diets. What a difference food makes. My Ms has been in remission since 2001!

Hey Reebs, love your story. I started going WFPB in November of 2017. My doctor suggested I watch FOK and What the Health, after I complained about gaining and losing the same weight over and over and over again. At that point, I had recently turned 58 years old. He told me to let him know what I think of the movies. Well, after watching them, it just clicked for me. It was a lightbulb moment and I tried to slowly change over, but after a couple of days, I said screw this, I’m going whole hog. My husband still eats the Standard American Diet, but not me. He makes his food and I make my food, of which he is beginning to eat more like me. But, I don’t ever see him giving up meat or eggs. It doesn’t seem to affect him as he is a very healthy man who works out every day and never gains a pound. I lost about 25 lbs and kept it off until 2022. I think it was just frustration from covid, but that November I caved and ordered a bakery cake for our 30 anniversary. Well, that led to sugar cravings and chocolate cravings and I gained back 15 of the 25 lbs. Since watching your previous video, where you asked us to join you and eat healthy, I have cut out the sugar. Thank you for that. I have dropped a few pounds, but it’s not coming off as quickly as it originally did. No worries, it will come off eventually. I know this is the best way to nourish my body and keep me healthy. Thanks for the much needed push, Reebs! Take care!

Thanks Reebs for sharing your story about how you eventually got on to a healthy vegan whole plant foods diet. It sad to hear about your grandma's friends getting sick and passing away. It is annoying how everyone seems to blame genetics for every health issue and never consider their diet. Love 🥰 the video and love 💞 Reebs.

Thanks for sharing your story. I wish I would have known about this WOE when I was young. Then, like you, I could have raised my boys on a healthy lifestyle. The information I had back then was meat and potatoes with plenty of butter, sour cream, gravy and maybe a vegetable on the side was a healthy meal. I was 62 when I got the information and now I’m one of those grandmas who is thin, energetic, and med free. But I’m watching many of my friends suffer and learned they will have to find their own way. However I may have influenced about four people by example and that is a good feeling.

Thank you for sharing! Many yrs ago my mother & a brother got colon cancer. Drugs, surgery, yaddayadda followed, but dietary change? Nope, that wasn't discussed. What?! I thought, HOW can this NOT be caused by food choices? I refused the tests they went through, & decided to eat plants instead, to avoid what happened to them. It's been nonstop nutrition/dietary tweaking ever since, listening to what my body tells me. Whole food plant based feels the best, though there are some plants I am having to avoid as time goes on. The social issues of eating differently from rest of family & friends is challenging, but older I get, the less I care about that.

Yes! I feel so much better eating plant based, but the peer pressure is hard. I am a part of a tight knit religious community where there is a potluck at least once a week if not more and its hard being the one with the weird food all the time. My priest I talk to urged me to give up my diet because i was "going to crash". (Priests are just people and can be wrong, but it's still confusing to hear!) All those around me are agaisnt veganism. But I've been eating this way the better part of 7 years, and any time I veer off I feel awful! So I will just have to keep being weird!

@@karaleenicholson3423 Yes! I recall some people in my church some years ago eating the "Daniel Diet" Maybe one could research that and just call what they bring to the potluck part of the Daniel diet. It might be a gentle way of getting people insterested

@karaleenicholson3423 I think it's mostly because in the christian community at large there is an anti vegan sentiment going around. With a correlating interest in the carnivore diet. I think I'll just keep doing what I'm doing and people will see I don't wither away, and become interested 😂

I was the same, I was in college but moved off campus and had to start learning to cook...I learned meat was super expensive and not fun at all to cook. I started cooking beans and rice and eating huge salads and eating fruit because these things are so simple and cheap. I started feeling so good and then heard more about a vegan diet from a friend and realized there was a name for what I was eating haha. I had a couple of things like butter and occasional cheese or eggs to let go of but then I started feeling healthy for the first time. I like a higher raw diet and love how it makes me feel.

This story resonates with me. Food is medicine, yet so many people refuse to make the connection between what they are putting in their mouths and the ailments they have. I think my family is too stubborn to want to admit that eating all the high sugar high fat high salt foods is something that isn't good for them. They would rather "eat what they love" instead of have to change their habits. I have given up trying to change anyone and just try to go about my life the way I know will help me thrive. I love you and this channel ❤

Nailed it. And sadly others who deny this truth will come to it later, only when it’s harder to fix. But they’ll be ok, we will help them too when they finally come around. Keep at it. You’re doing great just sticking to it among a group who won’t accept truth.

Oh, if only I had learned about the dangers of dairy decades earlier! I started wfpb two years ago, in my mid-40's and I can honestly say I've never felt better in my life! I honestly blame dairy for my health issues since infancy- chronic congestion, sinus infections, ear infections, sleep apnea, brain fog, fatigue, and later on, menstrual issues. Life would have been a lot more pleasant if I had not been addicted to dairy. But, I thought that "milk did a body good" and I needed it for calcium and protein. Quite the opposite! 😠 Thank you Reebs and Dillon for all you do to promote better health! 💞

Wait until you are in your seventies and all your friends have died in their sixties: the addicted cigarette smoker who could quit alcohol but not cigarettes, the health crank weight lifter who lived on a “high protein” meat diet for muscle mass, the proud bon vivant who went from obesity, to diabetes, to kidney failure. I wanted to be polite and not impose my values onto them, set an example. But they never forgave me in the end for surviving with my healthy lifestyle while they died in such pain.

It's this experience that made me proselytize to my friends.. but they don't want to hear it.. it's a sad place to be. Glad we have each other.

but people do live on juicing. and they seem to be doing amazing. i'm not raw yet, but it makes sense to me that cooked food is dead. that can't be good.

No this is not correct. Read Catching Fire by Richard Wrangham.
Also, it would be hard to live longterm on just juice unless you have a lot of fat stored, which you will burn off pretty quickly. Juice fasting is very low calorie.
