Dr. Douglas J. Lisle, Ph.D.is the co-author of The Pleasure Trap available here:
    www.amazon.com...
Dr. Doug Lisle is an evolutionary psychologist and co-author of The Pleasure Trap: Mastering the Hidden Force that Undermines Health and Happiness. He and his colleagues (Jennifer Howk and Richard Seidel) have developed a revolutionary method for approaching life challenges and improving self-confidence and self-esteem. They describe their approach as Esteem Dynamics - an approach with clinical insights derived from evolutionary psychology.
Central figures having major influence on the development of Esteem Dynamics include Richard Dawkins, John Tooby and Leda Cosmides, David Buss, Robert Trivers, Steven Pinker, and Geoffrey Miller. All of these individuals are considered world-leading theorists in evolutionary theory and human psychology. Somewhat surprisingly, insights from these trailblazers has yet to reach mainstream clinical psychology, and thus major advances stemming from some of the world’s greatest thinkers have yet to be systematically applied to problems of helping people improve their lives. Esteem Dynamics is the first such effort, and weds Dr. Lisle’s 30-years of clinical experience to the deep insights into human nature only recently available via evolutionary psychology.
Dr. Lisle received his undergraduate education from the University of California, San Diego. He completed his Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology at the University of Virginia, and was then appointed Lecturer in Psychology at Stanford University. His research and clinical interests include health and wellness, self-esteem, relationship satisfaction, the treatment of anxiety and depression, the genetics of individual differences, and optimizing achievement motivation. In addition to his work with Esteem Dynamics, Dr. Lisle lectures widely on health and wellness.
Dr Lisle is available at selected days and times for a one-to-one, personal phone consultation:

Instagram getting more addictive, well chef AJ beat them to it with videos about Dr. Lisle. They're cocaine to me, can't stop listening to all his talks and might start playing basketball because of him, waiting for the secret shooting technique video to get a head start!

If your friends are not willing to support you they are not true friends. So it is your choice to be their friend and visit them or just invite them to your home and be as flexible with your meals as you expect of them. Many people expect flexibility from others when they are just as inflexible. Food choices are your choice. Stop complaining and take responsibility for your decisions. You have the right to the life you want but you cannot expect to inflict your views on others.

Start with cooked rice and cooked fruit (fruit and rice) after a week add in green and yellow cooked veg then gradually introduce other starches. Avoid beans and pulses and onions/leeks to start with. These can be introduced gradually later when your guts are more used to it

Raw veggies and fruit can be introduced later too. Cooked food is more easily digestible

Great interview! It's baffling that Dr. Lisle's friends or family still eat an SOS filled diet. What's more baffling is that 250-pound overweight kid that won't take free sessions. With all he's done in his life, how much more convincing can Dr. Lisle be?

Yes, you are correct, none of the still living victims of the atomic bombs in Japan have trauma.

I have just lost all respect for his intellect after his trauma statements. I have c-ptsd and it’s ruined my life. I still have nightmares. If Im touched wrong I freak out. It doesnt just disappear after 5 yrs. I know this.

@@claudinestone6152 He has totally black and white thinking about it, is willfully ignorant of the research, and has no willingness to educate himself. It's sad to watch, because he really is clearly a very smart guy. But on this he is just out of his depth and he's too arrogant to realize it.

@@freewanderingstar yes he has obviously never experienced trauma himself. You just cannot unsee what has been seen, unhear what you have heard, unfeel pain, abuse, neglect and so on. If youve been neglected your whole life, it’s hard to learn this yourself. There are certain needs we have as a child for safety, nurturance and so forth that we need to get from others or it’s a lack later in life that we just cant give ourselves easily. But trust me what happens if it’s enough trauma, the fear never leaves. Especially with c-ptsd when it’s chronic. It doesnt happen just once.
