I was in the server and watching the stream as this happened. Definitely one of the better runs where you didnt crash or have people interrupting the battle. Crazy driving, and Iroha is rough, man.

Do a comparison between drift racing (like initial d) and grip racing used for race tracks. See which one is faster on a touge road.
on a road like this you can see in this video its faster to slide the tight hairpins. any other time its not faster to drift. thats not to say a loose setup isnt fast, it is, but if youre countersteering the wheel more than 90 degrees than its too much angle.

ICKY427 when i was playing car x drift racing using minimal countersteer is faster if you had alot degree countersteer its making the car go slower when drift

Space Bean tbh i think they dont use the hand break to initiate the drift. They only use brake and shift lock technique to drift the car. Like how takumi does it.
He makes that 180 look so simple.

This is just a Theory. My Theory, That the Stage Universe ( Thsi one ) then the Legend Universe ( the Remastered version ) are accually the same Timeline. Thats the Takumi we all know and Loved appeared in Legend series. But his not the one playing the Protagonist, The Protagonist In Legend is a Reincarnaded Takumi Someone who is about to have the same Life that Takumi had. They have teh both same name Same Past and same ETC. Ok heres why, Stage Takumi saw thsi GT86, He got so Happy felt a Bond with that car and then he knew that was a spiritual succesor of the se86 that he blew up, So he saved some cash and Bought One. Then The new Takumi appeared same car,same name and more. The Real Takumi Fugiwara thet we love appeared in Legend as the driver of the Orange GT86 that refueled in teh gas Station meeting the New Takumi. So in legend 3 ending the new takumi finally meet the G Takumi in the gt86 why? When you play close attention , The character model of that guy does look like Takumi andThe voice actor of the GT86 is acually the same voice actor from the ORIGINAL TAKUMI that we loved. So that means The old Takumi went back to Akina to see how it changed and the NEw one Finally meet his Older Better self. And The new Takumi accually Spilled a little bits of Water which the Original Takumi never did. So theOriginal Takumi and the New Takumi are two Completly different People. ITS JUST A THEORY

DJ Universality they say drifting is slower but not on this hairpins
My guess is that you down shiftedbto first every time at the hair pin, while the gt86 might just stayed in 2nd and drifted and maintained a higher speed than when you were getting out from the pin in 1st. Try drift into it in 2 nd and keep the rev up slide in and out the hairoin. Just my guess.
