Qibil and winters friendship is absolute golden! I felt like qibil could honestly just bring out the best in winter and winter doing the same. I mean even in winter turning winter thought about he’s joke when he returned home. Honestly they have such an amazing relationship it’s just very funny. They really do being out the best in each other and you can tell they really do care about each other I’m very glad winter has a friend like him cause I feel like qibil really did bring out the best in him.

Idk maybe not to me it does but you do raise up a good point at least winter is somewhat trying to get better which I’m glad he’s doing
Fathom and Darkstalker was very hard to rate. There are good sides, and there are bad ones. When I saw that Darkstalker enchanted a bell that rings whenever Fathom was sad or lonely, my heart melted. They could’ve been the best. However, sadly, that wasn’t the case. Like you said, Darkstalker also trapped Indigo into a statue (idk why but it’s so funny 💀) and in book 9, Turtle snuck up to Darkstalker and heard that he forgives Clearsight for tricking him and putting him into a 2000 year sleep, however he does not forgive Fathom. The thing is, Clearsight was the one who requested to do it. This just proves that the friendship couldn’t have lasted long anyway.
For Blister and Morrowseer: I never really saw it as a friendship, more like a power duo. They were just using the other to amplify their own power. If they had won, I bet their ‘friendship’ would have toppled and one would have killed the other. That’s why I gave them, like, a three. There’s no friendship, just maximization of power.
Some people ship them - what is wrong , they pretty much don't really care for each over , plus , Morrowseer is married to Secretkeeper , Blister was only interested in Morrowseer because he was on her side and he was a nightwing (who at the time where thought to have special powers) , She didn't even like him , he didn't like her that much either , that's not very good for a relationship is it?
Cricket and Sundew make my number one favorite dynamic duo because of how well their opposite personalities constantly compliment each other. I can name several examples of the great teamwork between these two completely different dragons: Sundew instructs Cricket on how to safely use her sedative plant who executes the plan perfectly Simultaneously carrying wingless Blue to escape the Clearsight temple Sundew leads away the HiveWing guards while Cricket hides loopy Blue Blending into the crowd disguised as a fancy HiveWing and a servant SilkWing Cricket instructs Sundew on how to attract the bait-fly who executes the plan perfectly Cricket distracts the Othermind with clever questions to buy Sundew time to break them free from its trap They also make the funniest comedic duo in the franchise too. Cricket’s excited curiosity confuses the heck out of Sundew, while Sundew’s edgy ambitions startle the heck out of Cricket. But the best part about it is that **neither of them are trying be funny.** They are constantly being themselves when they’re being hilarious together and don’t realize how hysterical they are.
9:20 the Snowfall and Lynx friendship went exactly where they belong: the top spot. Lynx is in my opinion the best supporting character in the entire Wings Of Fire franchise, which is saying a LOT considering the massive competition against dragons like Kinkajou, Indigo, and Swordtail. Lynx was the only supporting character Snowfall needed to make Book 14 so fantastic.
I agree 100%. I think the only characters who could even try to contest Lynx for #1 supporting character would be Sky and Thorn, but neither get enough page time to get close. Kinkajou is a solid second imo. Maybe Morrowseer if you count antagonists as supporting characters.

Qibli and Winter have my favorite interactions in the series (and are among my favorite characters). I'd read a book about just those two dozens of times.
I always love seeing the friendships form in this series, especially if they don't get along at first. Idk it's nice to see them learn to appreciate each other and become good friends :) I'm also really hyped for the Villain tier list. That's gonna be an interesting video
God, book 6 was my absolute favorite book. I was sold on Moon being cuter thsn than the moons. And then Qinter (carroed by Qibli) showed up and were *hysterical* (atleast after that initial meeting. On rereading it was chilling just how agressive Winter was about Bandit.)
I feel like Whiteout and Clearsight should have been on there. I know they have very little page time, but Clearsight is so kind to her and I love it! (Also, if you do another teir list, it should be headcanon relationships, both friends or romantic)
I think a cool idea for a tier list would be ability variations. For refreshers, those being Firescales, Fire resistant scales, Mind reading, Foresight, Flamesilk, Leafspeak and Animus Magic. I guess the myriad of different abilities Hivewings can get could count as well
I’m sorry’ but Quinter deserves S+++++++++++ LIKE DUDE, I LOVE THEIR PERSONALITIES TOGETHER, ITS UNBELIEVABLY GOOD. They really helped each other with their jokes and seriousness.
If I had to go into more depth of why I like this FRIENDDDDDship, it must be because Qibli perhaps in a way helps Winter learn about how real genuine good relationships between friends should be like or he simply sets boundaries for what is and what isn’t allowed. Albeit Winter doesn’t treat Qibli with the same respect, their friendship dynamic is extremely humorous to some and is overall just a joy. And someone other than Lynx or Kinkajou has to put Winter in his place after him being taught that he was above everyone all his life. I cant say the same about the ship though, there’s something about it that makes me feel like it’s nails on a chalkboard, fork against a plate, bakudeku all over again in my opinion.
I kinda disagree bc I hate Moon, tbh. She acts like such a main character and is definitely two- faced. She’s not Kind. And she always acts like she’s not hurt and she’s just ANNOYING THE BRAIN CELLS OUT OF ME. :) sorry if u disagree

Turtle and Peril. I love their dynamic so, so much. One moment in Talons of Power I spotted one time after re-reading it was this chapter: “ ‘That’s our Peril,’ Turtle said to Qibli. ‘Spreading a little terror before bedtime.’ “ “He was pretty sure they were friends, though. Which was crazy; never in a million years would he have guessed he might end up friends with the SkyWing queen’s deadliest weapon.” “Oh, Peril. Turtle kind of wished he could hug her, let her know he understood.” “She beamed at Turtle. ‘Qibli thinks Clay likes me,’ she said in a loud whisper. ‘I heard.’ Turtle smiled back at her.” And just a little further down the page, “ ‘I’m going to follow Darkstalker to the rainforest tomorrow,’ Turtle said. ‘Just…to see what happens.’ ‘Oh,’ Peril said, her wings drooping. In Moon Rising, not even KINKAJOU’s, his supposed crush, wild personality was able to convince him to go on a journey. But Peril, who is more dangerous and intimidating than the entire Winglet, is able to convince him to go.
Oh my gosh,YES! I just love their dynamic and how they care for each other. Some people ship them, which I don't understand. Why change what is already perfect?[plus peril is a grown dragon and turtle's a dragonet]

It's so fun joining in on these videos fully now that I've finish book 15! I think my highest favorite friendship is Peril and Turtle because of how mismatched they are, but how well they worse together. A lot of these other ones are great too. I think the genuine friendship Darkstalker wanted to have with Moon is very important to his deniability as a deeply evil villain throughout the start of Arc 2. I love all the submitted extras. Man, this is my favorite Wings of Fire channel. Thanks for helping me feel like I have someone to talk to about this lovable series.

Just my input on the matter but here are my thoughts on your video, JMA. While I do agree that Qibli and Winter's friendship dynamics do have some issues, I enjoyed their interactions. My best analogy that best describes them is stereotypical, anime-esqe, Shonen-style rivalry (yes, that is an anime reference lol). I don't know know if it's just me but their relationship was EXACTLY like anime rivals, like Naruto and Sasuke 🤣, Goku and Vegeta, and Asta and Yuno. Everyone just prefers the Orange guy. Jokes aside though, Qibli and Winter's friendship was wholesome in my opinion, like a healthy rivalry. Sure Winter can still be quite a jerk sometimes, but his character development was amazing in my opinion. Love this friendship. Another friendship I am so happy to see on the S tier is DoD. Or what I like to call the Destiny Winglet. While I do have some gripes about their dynamic, I love their teamwork. Clay is the father/big brother figure that helps holds everyone together (despite not being the sharpest) and because of his kindness, he helps everyone feel at home. Plus, he is a good listener. Tsunami is the mom/big sister figure who will just about kill anything that harms them. Although her antics are wild 🤣, everyone deserves a Tsunami in their life. I love Tsunami though, despite her "rushing headfirst into a problem" trait. Glory is the cynical sister, who is rough and tumble but good-hearted deep down. While she can be pessimistic, it was her seriousness that helps stable everyone together as the leader of the Rainwings. She is the Armin Arlett- Annie Leonhart of the series. Besides, we all need discipline in life because it teaches us that the world isn't all fluff and candy. Starflight is the brain. While I hate how everyone looks down on my Nightwing bro, this dude is A BADASS. FIGHT ME. Listen, this dude gave Glory the idea of taking the Nightwings under her reign, and he found a way to talk to Glory secretly. It was his intelligence that helped them escape the Sky Kingdom (thanks to Peril lifting those rocks, although it was a good first attempt). The point is don't mess with the big-brained folk. As for Sunny, she is the perfect "Lil' sister" character, and she is such a good-hearted character. Her morals are wholesome and it is nice to see someone who is philosophic in the Destiny Winglet. What a lass. In my opinion, I love the DoD but The Jade Winglet has my heart more. The Jade Winglet in my opinion is the best friendship group in the series. I think it is obvious that Tui took the DoD formula and significantly improved it. The Winglet's friendship dynamics were GREAT. Their interlaced friendships were amazing because of their development and their similarities. Peril is like the Big, serious sister who will protect them like a flame, Turtle and Qibli are the ones who use their smarts to solve problems, Winter is relied on for his serious nature to help keep the Winglet stable and Kinkajou and Moon are used for a good laugh and help remind them that they are the best of friends. I love these guys. Best Friendship Group in the series in my opinion. Finally, I will tell you all about one weird friendship I do like. And it's a Dragonslayer one. HEAR ME OUT!!! I don't know why, but I enjoyed Prince Undauntable and Wren's friendship. While I do agree with Undauntable was indeed a prick early on, it seemed like Wren kinda enjoyed or at least liked to tease him out of her fun. To me, their interactions were kinda beneficial because Wren got supplies and Undauntable got an insight into the world, as well as finally socializing with a person his age. Imagine being a kid stuck in a castle all day; I would go insane. I see a lot of potential in their friendship because Wren and Undauntable could be a great human relationship (platonically or romantically). Undauntable could help renew SOME faith in humanity for Wren and Wren can help teach Undauntable to be a better person.
Fun thoughts! I love how you called them the "Destiny Winglet" - that's such a good name hahaha. Also I 100% agree that Tui improved the friendship dynamics with the Jade Winglet. I think, for me at least, the reason the Jade Winglet are more fun friends than the Destiny Winglet is because they have unique paired interactions. The underlying structure is similar (a group of friends who would literally die for each other and who each bring something unique to the table), but their personalities/behaviors actually change a little in each of the Jade Winglet pairings. In the DoD's everybody pretty much acts the same, regardless of who they're talking to (except Starflight when he's talking to Sunny haha, but that's for a whole different reason); Clay is always a bit goofy, Glory is always a bit sarcastic, Tsunami is always a bit over the top, etc. In the Jade Winglet, who a character is talking to changes how they interact: Moon has a very different vibe when she's talking to Kinkajou than when she's talking to Winter, for example, or than when she's talking to Turtle. We get to see each of the characters acting in unique ways only when they're around specific other characters and that just makes those friendships seem even more special. As for Wren and Undauntable, I think they have potential. It isn't fully realized yet and we don't know if it ever will be, but it's at least there. I feel like most of their interactions in Dragonslayer were Unduantable going, "WREN PLEASE HANG OUT WITH ME," and Wren going, "Eww, no." But, to make an anime reference as well, it wasn't a tsundere sort of "eww no, I don't like you", it was a legitimate one. So, perhaps someday (arc 4?!?!?), we'll see their arc come full circle but until then it's in the "has potential" category for me.
Cricket and Sundew should have been higher, those two were hilarious! Also don’t listen to the haters, Qibli and Winter are a golden friendship despite there differing personalities.
3:54 Yeah, Qibli and Winter make a very entertaining comedic duo to read about, but that’s the furthest their dynamic goes. Aside from like one or two genuine moments, their “bond” is flooded with interactions of Qibli purposefully getting on Winter’s nerve and Winter insulting Qibli in ways that hurt him a lot more than he lets others realize. Their many interactions are entertaining, but their dynamic is also pretty toxic.
Hi! I noticed for your Villains Tier List, you've noted several character's that would be questioned as a Villain, such as Sora and Mastermind. I think the word you meant to put was "Antagonist" as the two words have very different meanings. Villains can be Antagonists, and Antagonists can be villains, but that's not always the case. For example, In Legends Darkstalker, Darkstalker is the villain, but is the Protagonist. And Sora Creates conflict for the Protagonists in Moon Rising, but I wouldn't say she's evil or a villain. For that reason, I would suggest changing the name from Villains to Antagonist.
Smart, smart. I hadn't considered that distinction. Now I'm curious though: why would you consider Darkstalker (at least in his own book) a villain, but not Mastermind or Sora? I think I'd say they all behaved in morally despicable ways while believing they were doing what was right.
@@JadeMountainArchive I think at the end of the day what seperates them and Darkstalker is morality. While they all thought what they did was right in the beginning, there are several differences between Darkstalker and Mastermind and Sora, the key one being this responsibility for their actions. Darkstalker kept trying to justify what he did both in the past and in the present. Mastermind and Sora did not. They accepted their punishments and owned up to their mistakes, while Darkstalker kept avoiding responsibility, blaming any and everyone before himself. Along with this, Sora and Mastermind both regret their decisions, while Darkstalker not only didn't regret his crimes, but also planned to do them all over again 2000 years later. They all knew what they did was wrong but in the end, Mastermind and Sora regret, and learned from their mistakes, while accepting their punishments. Darkstalker did not. I believe that is why while they're all Antagonists, only Darkstalker is seen as a villain

That distinction makes sense to me though I'm going to push back here a little - I don't think Sora or Mastermind truly accepted their punishments or owned up to their mistakes. Let's start with Mastermind. When Starflight asks him if he thinks the rainwings should hate him as they likely do (while they're escaping from the volcano), he responds: "But, but science - and my orders -and -" I could be wrong, but it seemed to me like the only reason he apologized for what he did and took his punishment was because the alternative was dying on the volcano. That's not exactly the kind of repentance that would transform a villain into an antagonist in my eyes, or maybe I'm just being too harsh? As for Sora, she expresses some guilt, but also one of the last things she says in the books is this: "- but it's just collateral damage, isn't it, Umber? We learned about that from the SkyWing generals." It's a tragic story, for sure, about how the horrors of war warped her. But that doesn't change the fact that she murdered two innocent dragons and refused to even acknowledge what she did was wrong. Furthermore, she doesn't accept her punishment. As both Umber and Darkstalker allude to in that scene, the proper punishment would be "an eye for an eye". Instead she runs from the consequences of her actions - and understandably so. In any case, I'll definitely agree with you that they're not on the same level as Darkstalker and I'll be sure to include a caveat in the video about whether they're actually villainous or merely antagonists created by the situations they found themselves in. @@JadeMountainArchive i also agree with OP, but not really because of mortality (because every character you put on the villains tier list has a pretty screwy moral compass 😬); more because of prevalence. the word "villain" makes me think of a big baddie who's important to the plot and is always on the hero's toes. characters such as sora don't really strike me as that...? i mean, i think Tui has forgotten all about sora at this point 😑 in my opinion, the word "antagonist" definitely suits her more. i still see where you're coming from, though.
I have always had a headcannon that Blue and Swordtail were good friends. I imagined Blue seeing Swordtail as, like, a cool older brother. (which is pretty messed up when you consider the fact that he’s in a relationship with Blue’s sister but WE DON’T TALK ABOUT THAT) I’m aware it probably won’t happen, but I’d love to see this type of dynamic between the two in future books.
Hahaha, I can see it - it's like a step-brother sort of thing, you know? My dad always treated my grandmother on my mother's side (his step-mother) as if she were his own mom and that really stuck with me.
I knd of feel heartbroken that Swordtail and Kinkajou never got a book , Swordtail does seem a bit bossy and silly , he could have a cool development , Kinkajou is so happy and not concentrated , she could have a development of how to help another's and have a higher alert
Swordtail absolutely acts like the older sisters boyfriend who develops a meaningful relationship with his girl’s younger brother… because thats exactly what it is. He’s an older, almost brotherly figure. I’m not sure I’d call it a friendship per se, because its really a familial bond. They are step brothers.
Quinter is the best “Friend”ship (more like couple” in the books! I love the times when Qibli is just “Hey, did you know that Winter is actually the queens (Is it Nephew?) woahhh who would believe” and I particularly like the “Well, we’ll probably get married someday” IT WAS JUST ‘CHIEFS KISS’ MUAH, I LOVE IT!
I really love Quinter, the interactions are sooooo good. I love how a lot of Qibli’s remarks go over winters head, but just enough of them are caught so that winter starts wondering what Qibli even means when he says something a bit too seriously. 😂
I think Qibli and winter’s relationship is so close to the idea of lynx and snowfall’s that if Qibli weren’t my favourite character I would probably have them tied in my mind for best friendships. Great video and I loved to see how many people put JMA and Qibli or Qibli and reader it was so funny to me. There has to be a Dragonslayer 2! The end of it has a cliffhanger with Undauntable and his dad’s conversation. PLUS, we never got to see Peril meet her not actually dead brother, Sky, and Dragonslayer 2 would be the perfect book to have that in! 😁 Also, I just want to say, I love the way that Dragonslayer and the first 5 books of the main series intertwine, it was super cool to see who the scavenger (Mushroom) that was eaten by Queen Scarlet in the first book was and what the scavenger (Leaf) on the mountain that Clay helped was trying to do. Plus I found it hilarious how Ivy and Sunny each thought that it was the other one’s idea for Sunny to fly around with Ivy. 😂 I also really liked how Wren was the reason that Deathbringer (AKA Murderbasket) was afraid of scavengers because she had talked to him and stabbed him a couple times which is why he told Glory that he would throw a sword waving scavenger at her one day and see how she liked it when she made fun of his scavenger fear. And another side tangent about Deathbringer, I loved the story about him in the Winglet Quartet book. It was really sweet and I enjoyed seeing it despite the fact that it was also really sad. It also gave more insight on why he’s so overprotective of Glory and it’s amazing. Glory and Deathbringer are definitely my second favorite WoF couple. (Moon and Qibli are the ones that beat them.) And now that I’m on the topic of Moon (last one, I promise), I found it very ironic how when they went to the Nightwing island and saw Morrowseer being burnt and dead, Moon said, “I wonder who he was.” when he was when he was her father.
on darkstalker and moon, i think you forgot where darkstalker manipulated and abused moon, compared her to his dead partner when she is 4 and hes 2007, tricked her, and guilt-tripped her. they deserve an F-

I wouldn’t say that Blister and Morrowseer were friends exactly. I’d say they’re allies. For a friendship to truly be a friendship both have to contribute love, trust, honesty, happiness, and loyalty. I wouldn’t say Morrowseer or Blister had any of those. Their ‘friendship’ is more of a temporary truse so they both can get what they want. If either of them had actually cared about each other then Blister would’ve won the war. I also don’t think Glory and Kinkajou were exactly friends. Glory was more of a mother or big sister to Kinkajou then a friend. The way Glory tries her best to keep Kinkajou safe and doesn’t want Kinkajou going anywhere Glory doesn’t feel comfortable about is such a motherly think to do. The way Glory treats Kinkajou shows she really loves her. And I think that’s so cute! Also Kinkajou listens to Glory. Before we actually get to meet her in book 3, Kinkajou is introduced as a troublemaker who doesn’t listen to her teachers. But when Glory saves her I know she earned respect from Kinkajou. But either way, I think they both love and care about each other and that’s one of the most important things in a good relationship. I really wish we had gotten to see more of FateSpeaker and Sunny. I think those two would have made it high on my list. I like Moon and Winter as friends. But Moonbli is the best ship. Anyway, that’s just my opinion. Great job with the video!
Lynx really helped Snowfall’s mindset change to a more positive one, so that one was perfect. Also perfect we’re the false dragonets… seriously what was Morrowseer thinking?? They absolutely hated each other’s guts and often in relationships you need diversity, but also similarities, it just makes it work better. I know it from experience.

I never noticed how many friendships there are in WoF! It’s crazy! I noticed some of these duos/groups but never counted. Qibli X Winter and Peril X Turtle are my feel good ships. They are just the perfect balance of chaotic and "chill" energy. Also, I know that it is toxic in a few senses, but I cannot get enough of Darkstalker and Fathom's interactions in Legends. Everytime Fathom freaks out over Darkstalker using magic and Darkstalker is like: Jesus bro, CALM DOWN, it just sends me. I absolutely love them together and wish that in another universe, they could have just been awesome friends.
Sky and Wren are my two favorite characters in all of wof so I started dancing when their friendship was mentioned and screaming when it was in A and not S.
Fatespeaker and Sunny deserved more, and your maniacal laugh was great. Loved the food comparison! 😂 Winterwatcher, I would have it at the top of B or A-. I wish Darkstalker chose to be better, like not making himself immortal, despite being shaken so badly. Or realized he didn’t need to be king of the NightWings, or just didn’t abuse his power so much. I loved the extra requests. I can’t believe I didn’t think of any of those. I wouldn’t consider Qibli and Thorn friends, I more see it as a mother son relationship.

I was heartbroken when Whiteout cried and the NightWings all fled. Quinter is a good friendship because their funny, and a good duo with a smart one and a fighter, also they both helped each other get through their own problems and, are just really good friends and Dragons.
Personally my favorite is snowfall, and while I was reading her book I felt how snowfall felt: lynx is annoying, to lynx is pretty great. I'm glad this friendship was high tier!
When I first got into the wings of fire series I listened to them on audiobook. Once I was done with the series I started to collect the books then the 14th book came out and my mother noticed my obsession and she talked to me about it and I said she should read them too. She started to read them and the 15th came out when she was getting closer to the end of the series. Once she was done with the 14th. I told her to read dragon slayer and she thaught this was another series. I told her she would need to read it so she could understand the 15th book better. LONG STORY short I dragged my mother and now the rest of my family with this Obsession.
If Albatross, Scarlet, and Darkstalker do not all make S tier on the villains ranking, the fandom has officially failed. Without those three wreaking havoc, the series would just never be the same.

Qibil and winters friendship is absolute golden! I felt like qibil could honestly just bring out the best in winter and winter doing the same. I mean even in winter turning winter thought about he’s joke when he returned home. Honestly they have such an amazing relationship it’s just very funny. They really do being out the best in each other and you can tell they really do care about each other I’m very glad winter has a friend like him cause I feel like qibil really did bring out the best in him.

Fathom and Darkstalker was very hard to rate. There are good sides, and there are bad ones. When I saw that Darkstalker enchanted a bell that rings whenever Fathom was sad or lonely, my heart melted. They could’ve been the best. However, sadly, that wasn’t the case. Like you said, Darkstalker also trapped Indigo into a statue (idk why but it’s so funny 💀) and in book 9, Turtle snuck up to Darkstalker and heard that he forgives Clearsight for tricking him and putting him into a 2000 year sleep, however he does not forgive Fathom. The thing is, Clearsight was the one who requested to do it. This just proves that the friendship couldn’t have lasted long anyway.

They were just using the other to amplify their own power. If they had won, I bet their ‘friendship’ would have toppled and one would have killed the other.

Cricket and Sundew make my number one favorite dynamic duo because of how well their opposite personalities constantly compliment each other.
I can name several examples of the great teamwork between these two completely different dragons:
Sundew instructs Cricket on how to safely use her sedative plant who executes the plan perfectly
Simultaneously carrying wingless Blue to escape the Clearsight temple
Sundew leads away the HiveWing guards while Cricket hides loopy Blue
Blending into the crowd disguised as a fancy HiveWing and a servant SilkWing
Cricket instructs Sundew on how to attract the bait-fly who executes the plan perfectly
Cricket distracts the Othermind with clever questions to buy Sundew time to break them free from its trap
They also make the funniest comedic duo in the franchise too. Cricket’s excited curiosity confuses the heck out of Sundew, while Sundew’s edgy ambitions startle the heck out of Cricket. But the best part about it is that **neither of them are trying be funny.** They are constantly being themselves when they’re being hilarious together and don’t realize how hysterical they are.

9:20 the Snowfall and Lynx friendship went exactly where they belong: the top spot. Lynx is in my opinion the best supporting character in the entire Wings Of Fire franchise, which is saying a LOT considering the massive competition against dragons like Kinkajou, Indigo, and Swordtail. Lynx was the only supporting character Snowfall needed to make Book 14 so fantastic.
I agree 100%. I think the only characters who could even try to contest Lynx for #1 supporting character would be Sky and Thorn, but neither get enough page time to get close. Kinkajou is a solid second imo. Maybe Morrowseer if you count antagonists as supporting characters.

If I had to go into more depth of why I like this FRIENDDDDDship, it must be because Qibli perhaps in a way helps Winter learn about how real genuine good relationships between friends should be like or he simply sets boundaries for what is and what isn’t allowed. Albeit Winter doesn’t treat Qibli with the same respect, their friendship dynamic is extremely humorous to some and is overall just a joy. And someone other than Lynx or Kinkajou has to put Winter in his place after him being taught that he was above everyone all his life.
I cant say the same about the ship though, there’s something about it that makes me feel like it’s nails on a chalkboard, fork against a plate, bakudeku all over again in my opinion.
Qinter is definitely a great friendship, they have perfect drama, and they are **perfect**

“He was pretty sure they were friends, though. Which was crazy; never in a million years would he have guessed he might end up friends with the SkyWing queen’s deadliest weapon.”

You see that? You see that everyone? In Moon Rising, not even KINKAJOU’s, his supposed crush, wild personality was able to convince him to go on a journey. But Peril, who is more dangerous and intimidating than the entire Winglet, is able to convince him to go.

It's so fun joining in on these videos fully now that I've finish book 15! I think my highest favorite friendship is Peril and Turtle because of how mismatched they are, but how well they worse together. A lot of these other ones are great too. I think the genuine friendship Darkstalker wanted to have with Moon is very important to his deniability as a deeply evil villain throughout the start of Arc 2. I love all the submitted extras. Man, this is my favorite Wings of Fire channel. Thanks for helping me feel like I have someone to talk to about this lovable series.

Just my input on the matter but here are my thoughts on your video, JMA.
While I do agree that Qibli and Winter's friendship dynamics do have some issues, I enjoyed their interactions. My best analogy that best describes them is stereotypical, anime-esqe, Shonen-style rivalry (yes, that is an anime reference lol). I don't know know if it's just me but their relationship was EXACTLY like anime rivals, like Naruto and Sasuke 🤣, Goku and Vegeta, and Asta and Yuno. Everyone just prefers the Orange guy. Jokes aside though, Qibli and Winter's friendship was wholesome in my opinion, like a healthy rivalry. Sure Winter can still be quite a jerk sometimes, but his character development was amazing in my opinion. Love this friendship.
Another friendship I am so happy to see on the S tier is DoD. Or what I like to call the Destiny Winglet. While I do have some gripes about their dynamic, I love their teamwork. Clay is the father/big brother figure that helps holds everyone together (despite not being the sharpest) and because of his kindness, he helps everyone feel at home. Plus, he is a good listener. Tsunami is the mom/big sister figure who will just about kill anything that harms them. Although her antics are wild 🤣, everyone deserves a Tsunami in their life. I love Tsunami though, despite her "rushing headfirst into a problem" trait. Glory is the cynical sister, who is rough and tumble but good-hearted deep down. While she can be pessimistic, it was her seriousness that helps stable everyone together as the leader of the Rainwings. She is the Armin Arlett- Annie Leonhart of the series. Besides, we all need discipline in life because it teaches us that the world isn't all fluff and candy. Starflight is the brain. While I hate how everyone looks down on my Nightwing bro, this dude is A BADASS. FIGHT ME. Listen, this dude gave Glory the idea of taking the Nightwings under her reign, and he found a way to talk to Glory secretly. It was his intelligence that helped them escape the Sky Kingdom (thanks to Peril lifting those rocks, although it was a good first attempt). The point is don't mess with the big-brained folk. As for Sunny, she is the perfect "Lil' sister" character, and she is such a good-hearted character. Her morals are wholesome and it is nice to see someone who is philosophic in the Destiny Winglet. What a lass. In my opinion, I love the DoD but The Jade Winglet has my heart more.
The Jade Winglet in my opinion is the best friendship group in the series. I think it is obvious that Tui took the DoD formula and significantly improved it. The Winglet's friendship dynamics were GREAT. Their interlaced friendships were amazing because of their development and their similarities. Peril is like the Big, serious sister who will protect them like a flame, Turtle and Qibli are the ones who use their smarts to solve problems, Winter is relied on for his serious nature to help keep the Winglet stable and Kinkajou and Moon are used for a good laugh and help remind them that they are the best of friends. I love these guys. Best Friendship Group in the series in my opinion.
Finally, I will tell you all about one weird friendship I do like. And it's a Dragonslayer one. HEAR ME OUT!!! I don't know why, but I enjoyed Prince Undauntable and Wren's friendship. While I do agree with Undauntable was indeed a prick early on, it seemed like Wren kinda enjoyed or at least liked to tease him out of her fun. To me, their interactions were kinda beneficial because Wren got supplies and Undauntable got an insight into the world, as well as finally socializing with a person his age. Imagine being a kid stuck in a castle all day; I would go insane. I see a lot of potential in their friendship because Wren and Undauntable could be a great human relationship (platonically or romantically). Undauntable could help renew SOME faith in humanity for Wren and Wren can help teach Undauntable to be a better person.
Fun thoughts! I love how you called them the "Destiny Winglet" - that's such a good name hahaha. Also I 100% agree that Tui improved the friendship dynamics with the Jade Winglet. I think, for me at least, the reason the Jade Winglet are more fun friends than the Destiny Winglet is because they have unique paired interactions. The underlying structure is similar (a group of friends who would literally die for each other and who each bring something unique to the table), but their personalities/behaviors actually change a little in each of the Jade Winglet pairings. In the DoD's everybody pretty much acts the same, regardless of who they're talking to (except Starflight when he's talking to Sunny haha, but that's for a whole different reason); Clay is always a bit goofy, Glory is always a bit sarcastic, Tsunami is always a bit over the top, etc. In the Jade Winglet, who a character is talking to changes how they interact: Moon has a very different vibe when she's talking to Kinkajou than when she's talking to Winter, for example, or than when she's talking to Turtle. We get to see each of the characters acting in unique ways only when they're around specific other characters and that just makes those friendships seem even more special.
As for Wren and Undauntable, I think they have potential. It isn't fully realized yet and we don't know if it ever will be, but it's at least there. I feel like most of their interactions in Dragonslayer were Unduantable going, "WREN PLEASE HANG OUT WITH ME," and Wren going, "Eww, no." But, to make an anime reference as well, it wasn't a tsundere sort of "eww no, I don't like you", it was a legitimate one. So, perhaps someday (arc 4?!?!?), we'll see their arc come full circle but until then it's in the "has potential" category for me.
Cricket and Sundew should have been higher, those two were hilarious! Also don’t listen to the haters, Qibli and Winter are a golden friendship despite there differing personalities.
3:54 Yeah, Qibli and Winter make a very entertaining comedic duo to read about, but that’s the furthest their dynamic goes. Aside from like one or two genuine moments, their “bond” is flooded with interactions of Qibli purposefully getting on Winter’s nerve and Winter insulting Qibli in ways that hurt him a lot more than he lets others realize. Their many interactions are entertaining, but their dynamic is also pretty toxic.
I completely agree with qibli and winter's cute funny friendship! Lynx and snowfall is also a cute friendship that makes me happy.
Hi! I noticed for your Villains Tier List, you've noted several character's that would be questioned as a Villain, such as Sora and Mastermind. I think the word you meant to put was "Antagonist" as the two words have very different meanings. Villains can be Antagonists, and Antagonists can be villains, but that's not always the case. For example, In Legends Darkstalker, Darkstalker is the villain, but is the Protagonist. And Sora Creates conflict for the Protagonists in Moon Rising, but I wouldn't say she's evil or a villain. For that reason, I would suggest changing the name from Villains to Antagonist.
Smart, smart. I hadn't considered that distinction. Now I'm curious though: why would you consider Darkstalker (at least in his own book) a villain, but not Mastermind or Sora? I think I'd say they all behaved in morally despicable ways while believing they were doing what was right.

While they all thought what they did was right in the beginning, there are several differences between Darkstalker and Mastermind and Sora, the key one being this
responsibility for their actions. Darkstalker kept trying to justify what he did both in the past and in the present. Mastermind and Sora did not. They accepted their punishments and owned up to their mistakes, while Darkstalker kept avoiding responsibility, blaming any and everyone before himself. Along with this, Sora and Mastermind both regret their decisions, while Darkstalker not only didn't regret his crimes, but also planned to do them all over again 2000 years later. They all knew what they did was wrong but in the end, Mastermind and Sora regret, and learned from their mistakes, while accepting their punishments. Darkstalker did not. I believe that is why while they're all Antagonists, only Darkstalker is seen as a villain
@@3rdEyeLenny Mmmm, I see. That distinction makes sense to me though I'm going to push back here a little - I don't think Sora or Mastermind truly accepted their punishments or owned up to their mistakes.
Let's start with Mastermind. When Starflight asks him if he thinks the rainwings should hate him as they likely do (while they're escaping from the volcano), he responds: "But, but science - and my orders -and -" I could be wrong, but it seemed to me like the only reason he apologized for what he did and took his punishment was because the alternative was dying on the volcano. That's not exactly the kind of repentance that would transform a villain into an antagonist in my eyes, or maybe I'm just being too harsh?
As for Sora, she expresses some guilt, but also one of the last things she says in the books is this: "- but it's just collateral damage, isn't it, Umber? We learned about that from the SkyWing generals." It's a tragic story, for sure, about how the horrors of war warped her. But that doesn't change the fact that she murdered two innocent dragons and refused to even acknowledge what she did was wrong. Furthermore, she doesn't accept her punishment. As both Umber and Darkstalker allude to in that scene, the proper punishment would be "an eye for an eye". Instead she runs from the consequences of her actions - and understandably so.
In any case, I'll definitely agree with you that they're not on the same level as Darkstalker and I'll be sure to include a caveat in the video about whether they're actually villainous or merely antagonists created by the situations they found themselves in. Thanks for pointing this out!

the word "villain" makes me think of a big baddie who's important to the plot and is always on the hero's toes. characters such as sora don't really strike me as that...? i mean, i think Tui has forgotten all about sora at this point 😑 in my opinion, the word "antagonist" definitely suits her more. i still see where you're coming from, though.

I have always had a headcannon that Blue and Swordtail were good friends. I imagined Blue seeing Swordtail as, like, a cool older brother. (which is pretty messed up when you consider the fact that he’s in a relationship with Blue’s sister but WE DON’T TALK ABOUT THAT) I’m aware it probably won’t happen, but I’d love to see this type of dynamic between the two in future books.
Hahaha, I can see it - it's like a step-brother sort of thing, you know? My dad always treated my grandmother on my mother's side (his step-mother) as if she were his own mom and that really stuck with me.

Swordtail absolutely acts like the older sisters boyfriend who develops a meaningful relationship with his girl’s younger brother… because thats exactly what it is. He’s an older, almost brotherly figure.

I really love Quinter, the interactions are sooooo good. I love how a lot of Qibli’s remarks go over winters head, but just enough of them are caught so that winter starts wondering what Qibli even means when he says something a bit too seriously. 😂
I think Qibli and winter’s relationship is so close to the idea of lynx and snowfall’s that if Qibli weren’t my favourite character I would probably have them tied in my mind for best friendships. Great video and I loved to see how many people put JMA and Qibli or Qibli and reader it was so funny to me. There has to be a Dragonslayer 2! The end of it has a cliffhanger with Undauntable and his dad’s conversation. PLUS, we never got to see Peril meet her not actually dead brother, Sky, and Dragonslayer 2 would be the perfect book to have that in! 😁
Also, I just want to say, I love the way that Dragonslayer and the first 5 books of the main series intertwine, it was super cool to see who the scavenger (Mushroom) that was eaten by Queen Scarlet in the first book was and what the scavenger (Leaf) on the mountain that Clay helped was trying to do. Plus I found it hilarious how Ivy and Sunny each thought that it was the other one’s idea for Sunny to fly around with Ivy. 😂
I also really liked how Wren was the reason that Deathbringer (AKA Murderbasket) was afraid of scavengers because she had talked to him and stabbed him a couple times which is why he told Glory that he would throw a sword waving scavenger at her one day and see how she liked it when she made fun of his scavenger fear.
And another side tangent about Deathbringer, I loved the story about him in the Winglet Quartet book. It was really sweet and I enjoyed seeing it despite the fact that it was also really sad. It also gave more insight on why he’s so overprotective of Glory and it’s amazing. Glory and Deathbringer are definitely my second favorite WoF couple. (Moon and Qibli are the ones that beat them.)
And now that I’m on the topic of Moon (last one, I promise), I found it very ironic how when they went to the Nightwing island and saw Morrowseer being burnt and dead, Moon said, “I wonder who he was.” when he was when he was her father.

Asides from those three, my favorite friendship in Wings of Fire would probably have to be Osprey and Peril. I know we hardly see them interact in the books, but they must've been pretty close. I mean, Osprey basically sacrificed himself for Peril's sake... That's some hardcore shit right there.

I wouldn’t say that Blister and Morrowseer were friends exactly. I’d say they’re allies. For a friendship to truly be a friendship both have to contribute love, trust, honesty, happiness, and loyalty. I wouldn’t say Morrowseer or Blister had any of those. Their ‘friendship’ is more of a temporary truse so they both can get what they want. If either of them had actually cared about each other then Blister would’ve won the war.
I also don’t think Glory and Kinkajou were exactly friends. Glory was more of a mother or big sister to Kinkajou then a friend. The way Glory tries her best to keep Kinkajou safe and doesn’t want Kinkajou going anywhere Glory doesn’t feel comfortable about is such a motherly think to do. The way Glory treats Kinkajou shows she really loves her. And I think that’s so cute! Also Kinkajou listens to Glory. Before we actually get to meet her in book 3, Kinkajou is introduced as a troublemaker who doesn’t listen to her teachers. But when Glory saves her I know she earned respect from Kinkajou. But either way, I think they both love and care about each other and that’s one of the most important things in a good relationship.
I really wish we had gotten to see more of FateSpeaker and Sunny. I think those two would have made it high on my list.
I like Moon and Winter as friends. But Moonbli is the best ship.

Lynx really helped Snowfall’s mindset change to a more positive one, so that one was perfect. Also perfect we’re the false dragonets… seriously what was Morrowseer thinking?? They absolutely hated each other’s guts and often in relationships you need diversity, but also similarities, it just makes it work better. I know it from experience.

I never noticed how many friendships there are in WoF! It’s crazy! I noticed some of these duos/groups but never counted. It’s awesome that JMA really notices this kind of stuff and wants to help others notice them WHILE being hilarious and making jokes about how unhealthy friendships are like cold fries 😂 😃
Qibli X Winter and Peril X Turtle are my feel good ships. They are just the perfect balance of chaotic and "chill" energy. Also, I know that it is toxic in a few senses, but I cannot get enough of Darkstalker and Fathom's interactions in Legends. Everytime Fathom freaks out over Darkstalker using magic and Darkstalker is like: Jesus bro, CALM DOWN, it just sends me. I absolutely love them together and wish that in another universe, they could have just been awesome friends.

Sky and Wren are my two favorite characters in all of wof so I started dancing when their friendship was mentioned and screaming when it was in A and not S.

I wish Darkstalker chose to be better, like not making himself immortal, despite being shaken so badly. Now, let me just make one thing clear… THE FALSE DRAGONETS WERE NOT FRIENDS, they constantly fought, argued, complained, and threatened each other. I didn’t like them at first, not even Fatespeaker, because it was like seeing them with a blindfold on your head.

When I first got into the wings of fire series I listened to them on audiobook. Once I was done with the series I started to collect the books then the 14th book came out and my mother noticed my obsession and she talked to me about it and I said she should read them too. She started to read them and the 15th came out when she was getting closer to the end of the series. Once she was done with the 14th. I told her to read dragon slayer and she thaught this was another series. I told her she would need to read it so she could understand the 15th book better. LONG STORY short I dragged my mother and now the rest of my family with this Obsession.
