With the current gas prices, I wonder how many of those who called that engine crap are still willing to buy a big engined version? The point is X-terra is not Pathfinder! If you want the big engine, then go buy the Pathfinder. It is the same with Toyota. If you want the big engine Toyota SUV, then don't buy the Fortuner. when the car comes to the showroom it comes in standard mode and 2WD so you will have to switch it to sport mode(with D MODE) and 4H to get a fast 0-60 in 5.87sec

I owned the older version, 4L. This one is not for off-roading. Even Pathfinder has a larger engine. 2.5l is way too small. Nissan better change the name, so the old X lives
aside from the engine that would likely be different in USA how do you say it's not for off-road? it has a solid rear axle, diff locker, body on frame, it looks like it can fit 33 inch tires no problem and can be lifted too.
It is a very good looking and with Nissan you do get more car for your money. But I too am very disappointed it has a four cylinder engine. They should have stayed with 4.0 six cylinder and gave it more of a boost somehow. Looking forward to seeing it in person when it arrives at the showrooms.
Suprisingly the Nissan Xterra is much faster than the Toyota Fortuner's 2.7L, the 2.5L on this is also a tad bit faster than 4.0L fortuner, which is really ODD. I'm strictly speaking of 0-100 Km/hr acceleration.

This would be nice if I had a bigger engine 3.0l or 3.5l, more torque, about 190 or 195 horsepower and some bigger wheels about 20 or 19 inches better for the car and more ground clearance
if you see the car in person it has a lot of ground clearance and are you gonna drag race with the car or what because the car wont get faster the the speed limit because of the safety technology and it starts beeping a lot when you cross the speed limit ( i own a xterra 2021 )

Hi Ravi, The Montero has a bigger engine, but the XTERRA is the newer car, meaning it will have better tech. Let's put it this way, if you plan on going off-road, stick with the Montero, if you plan to use the car within city limits, then the XTERRA would be the better choice.

The 2021 GXR model actually looks very similar to the VXR, obviously missing features but from outside both looks almost the same except the VXR will have the nex taillights but same headlights as the GXR with some chrome design as the previous model

Yes, this one isn't an off-road champ like the old one, but then again Nissan just seems to be catering to what people are wanting to buy. The off-road segment all said and done, is a relatively small one. Many people who buy SUVs just use them as city vehicles for the family, and thus Nissan is catering to that need with this all-new model.
Pretty sure it's the same for the competition. If not it means drums are fine, after all Terra/X-Terra is quite light for its size (given the fact it's body on frame).
