Before those there was Star Wars Episode 6 the Return of the Jedi with the massive head on convergence of rebel fighters and imperial fighters. And as much as I love Star Wars I give props to Stargate for not just paying homage but taking it up a notch too.
I know exactly what you mean. Until then the SG teams had been sneaking around blowing up ships with bombs, stolen cargo ships and a lot of help from their allies. That was all great, but this moment was when the Tau'ri stood up and fought head to head against an imposing Goa'uld force all on their own, it always makes me think of how far they had come in such a short amount of time.
Well, sad to say it but 'The Siege' has been soured for me...manned railguns? Seriously? Even a small radar and a computer instead of a human operator (damned, we aren't in WW2! We have radar-guidance now and an Aegis-Combat-System that WWII ship captains would have given an arm and leg for!) would have made much more sense....not to mention that they only (badly!) fixed the defense satellite when the Wraith were already at the gates! Damned, they knew of it way way way earlier and might have truly been able to destroy all three first wave Hives!
Seeing Earth finally go toe to toe with the Goa'uld with capital ships and fighters was awesome to see. Shows you how far we came in only seven years and also how close we came to becoming a galactic superpower.
I miss this TV Show I remember so many episodes so well I hate to think how many times I watched the shows but this is one TV show I will never get bored of watching. Best ever TV production.
it is tailored to cater to US patriotism. Generally series that do that tend to be successful, series that make the (usually American) protagonists look bad or weak tend to fail. See Enterprise(Archer)/Discovery and in contrast TOS Enterprise(Kirk) and Orville. do not take this as an insult, it is a mere observation. obviously producers would want to crate products that are successful, so they get written accordingly.
@@kensaiix its not the patriotism its the build up. 7 seasons of SG1 crawling by. Saving the planet by the skin of their teeth fighting a space fairing galactic empire with just conventional weapons. The desperate attempt to create our own weapons to fight and seeing them fail and struggle Then this scene... earth with its weapons 2 entire squadrons of 302s and Prometheus going head to head with Goa'uld. All the hard work of the characters paid off in this moment. After 7 seasons we were finally able to go toe to toe with the enemy
@@kensaiix I'm not American, and I am against patriotism. The look on Bra'tac's face. That of seeing the fruition of his life's work to free the Jafa. It was one of the most satisfying moments of the entire series for me.

I think this is the quintessential SG1 scene for me out of the entire series The years' of buildup to get here: Earth not only having the tech & material to build a fleet capable of defending Earth but also the sheer size of the Stargate program to make it happen; a culmination of multiple alien allies and tech; and of course a solid build up of Anubis' power as the big bad who actually returned to Earth to threaten the planet for the first time since Season 1. Finally we have the writing which is just pure SG1 - techno babble, drama, and humor all mixed with a soundtrack and visuals that are so rooted in this series Sure the series continued on and the final fight to take out the Replicators is a close second, but those later fights were so large that this is the high point for me because it still retained that very basic premise of "SG1 saves the world" that carried the series for the first 10 years
When I first saw this video, it gave me goosebumps, I have all of Stargate on DVD this is one of my favorite scenes along with the Stargate Atlantis scenes as USS Daedalus and USS Apollo with combined fleet took the Replicated Humans.

I mean he did give the invading leader a big middle finger with what he said Also now I'm reminded of the other General of SG who told an Ori Prophet "if we're going to hell, we're taking you with us"
One of the things stargate did better than any other series was a smooth yet amazing increase in power of the humans. At this battle they are in desperation and needed Lantean weapon to save them, at the end of the series, Deadalus would have wiped the whole fleet before tea time.
This episode and "Heroes" (S07E18) are my favorites. Such an amazing story arch. I wish we could see how Tauri are faring "today". They have the Asgard core, they have Atlantis, they have X-303's and -302's. We need big story-telling minds to imagine this world.
I always really liked how the president handles that conversation. Regardless of how much bluffing he did, that's the perfect way to handle that situation. It always gave me the impression that no matter how serious the threat of the Goa'uld and huge the galaxy is, Earth is still doing its own thing. Anubis was just an interruption for the president.
The best way to handle that negotiation would've been to just start laughing in his face. I mean hysterical laughter, from everyone in the room. Extremely unsettling to egomaniacs

@@T0FFII Yeah! Wasn't it originally gonna be a movie??
General Hammond is a man you’d follow into battle 10/10 times with out hesitation
Hammond of Texas *gestures at head a brave and noble warrior
@@Nr15121 Ya He was a Big Gun Of Texas.
Yep and Everyone on StarGate command and there Team will Do Everything to make sure SG1 Return home. It Show How Much of a Family They was when everyone Rush into Danger without Hesitation to save SG1.
@@Drakesonone in character and reality don Davis was an absolute legend
Not follow-- you _join._ He leads among his troops, not over them.
The smile on Bre'tac's face when he heard Hammond's voice, he truly did respect him as a leader.
Nice call to when he asks has Hammond of Texas fallen in battle?
1:26 of every episode of stargate sg1, this moment, right here is forever engraved into my memory. the intial head on pass between earths X302s and the go'uld death gliders/bombers. it always brings a small tear to my eye. its so awesome. that and the first battle of atlantis, when they darken the city and it starts lighting up from the AA fire going out at the wraith, from stargate atlantis are forever engraved when i think of stargate.
@@Milamberinx yeah indeed. And still it show how Tau'ri is still under powered. Prometheus was doomed basically.
4:26 O’Neill: “And this is for Abydos!”
From a timeline stand point that was only a year earlier which is crazy.
While 4:28!
1:58 may be the only time that an al'kesh still controlled by the G'oauld actually manages to hit its target
Shit, you right😂
I miss this TV Show I remember so many episodes so well I hate to think how many times I watched the shows but this is one TV show I will never get bored of watching. Best ever TV production.
Anubis' First Prime said " My Lord, The Human Attack Vessel Approaches!" Should have said ... Tau'ri ...
I mean, the Tau'ri call themselves humans.
So it's a strange form of respect? I guess...
I remember watching this come out with my parents. We were all like 'FUCK YEAH!' when the battle started.
it is tailored to cater to US patriotism.
The desperate attempt to create our own weapons to fight and seeing them fail and struggle
Then this scene... earth with its weapons 2 entire squadrons of 302s and Prometheus going head to head with Goa'uld. All the hard work of the characters paid off in this moment. After 7 seasons we were finally able to go toe to toe with the enemy
@@kensaiix I'm not American, and I am against patriotism.
While what you said might be true for some, the context of this victorious battle within a series that has lasted for so many seasons at that point is the reason why it deserves a "fuck yeah", not internalized Propaganda.
I do believe that there is a collective sense for all of humanity that makes this moment so exciting.
@@laurencebarnes5361 Patriotism is fine. It's loving your country, warts and all.
It's Nationalism that's the problem. Russia being a prime example of this.
Still remember watching it for the first time in 2004. Like it was yesterday... Good times.
that moment when you realize shield tech is not perfect tech it is not always able to protect you from danger as this episode shows
I remember the premiere day. Was on the edge of my seat the whole time for the 2 part event!. Wish they would bring back this franchise.
One of the greatest tv shows of all time! Boy was I crushed when I found out all the Stargate series were getting canceled 😭
Don’t worry, they’ll make a new show eventually and it will be terrible. Be thankful they haven’t rebooted it for now.
@@TheHolyMongolEmpire Yes, i am thankful everyday they have not remade it as this current crop of writers we have would destroy it.
@@breakerm5187 I mean... depends on writers. I think Star Wars Andor's writers did a great job. But sadly, big companies like to make remakes and bet too much on 'old memories' rather than making something new.
Stargate is the greatest TV show ever
This is technically the first episode with Cam in it!
He’s flying around out there somewhere, and um… getting shot down
Yeah. I remember when they announced that ben Browder's character was part of the Stargate universe in a pivotal way and they revealed he was the leader of the F-302 Squadron during the Battle over Anatarctica. I was like okay that's cool.
I wonder if Shepherd was flying too 🤔 although in actual canon, I remember him being excited to fly an F-302 for the first time while in the Pegasus galaxy. Head canon though, he was instrumental in the fight.
@@gryffon7497I don’t think he knew about the star gate or anything like that until the drone came at him and Oniells helicopter. But it’s been a while
@@aaronmaxwell7475 Shepherd didn't have clearance and O'Neill knew he wouldn't get it because of his background but wanted him in the program. O'Neill having him pilot him to the ancient outpost was his way of forcing the issue. That was my interpretation anyway.
The guy who played Senator Kensy was a great actor, he made me hate his guts every time I seen him in the show
That's the mark of a great actor when they can make you truly hate or love the character they play.
Ronnie Cox. He played Capt. Jellico in TNG. A character you initially loved to hate. But when you rewatch the episodes he is in, the more you realize he was right.
And yes he is a Great actor.
This is my favorite ship to ship battle in the franchise. 7 years, hundreds of planets explored, alliances made all culminates in this moment.
As a fan you know how hard and perhaps what episode it was when they develop the ordinance for the 302s.
Prometheus shields. We were there
It's the most cathartic moment of the series. Its the day the Goauld stopped being the dominant species in the Milky Way.
This is the best script in the whole franchise.
Always loved Hammond's little nod of satisfaction when Anubis' fleet was destroyed.
are shields are of no use
time to poop your pants dude
Everybody gangster, until Prometheus shows up
Ori in S9:I'm about end this ship whole career...
*scientists at McMurdo when futuristic combat fighters start landing on the glacier*
"What in the fuuuuuuuck?"
"Sign here, and here, and you are now sworn to secrecy."
Eh, just put them in the hanger where they're storing the Thing's makeshift saucer.
A little latter the prometheus shows up..
WHAT THE HELL?
Love that Walter is there. Dude is loyal as fuck.
I loved Walter's character just s good smart desk jockey but like you said honorable loves his job and gets all the fun with flying the alkesh ect
That and poor old master Sargent silar
@@samfazers8818 The actor playing sgt. Siler was also the stunts coordinator of the series.
As to Walter, his most bright performance was in the alternate reality, where he took the AR in futile attempt to repel the Teal'c-lead invasion into the Cheyenne complex, trying to give "our" Jackson some more time
@@Sergei_Agarkoff wow you still learn something about sg1 even after years lol cheers for the info bud
@@samfazers8818 yes, it full of hints, easter eggs and secrets. Some are clearly visible, some are very subtle.
For example, note the slogans in school (ep. where Vala & Mitchell arrived for classmates meeting) - these stickers says something like "Mallozzi for treasurer!" (or something very close)
Or (already well-known) Latin tutorial book by Ph.D. Mallozzi ("window of opportunity")
One of the best Science Fiction Series of all time
That was the most epic stargate moment ever. I almost cried of joy it was so cool
@1:23 Teal'c has seen a lot of battles and a lot of crap go down. But, it is this moment he is paused in awe over the epicness going on before him.
I love how you can hear snippets of what would be SGA's future soundtrack throughout this episode.
I remember watching this tv show when i was little, man i loved it. Time flies fast.
It's like a recurring thing with the gould system lords die screaming look how apophis went out
I love the Prometheus's 'throom-throom-throom' engine noise.
The look on Bra'tac's face. That of seeing the fruition of his life's work to free the Jafa. It was one of the most satisfying moments of the entire series for me.
I love the way the bad guys always yell NOOOOOOOOO!😂
I wish they had thrown in a line for Jack, something like "okay so you remember when I told you the shuttle was a formidable vessel? I... Might have been stretching the truth there. But hey! We've been busy since then, wouldn't you say this ones pretty formidable?"
@@TheValentineEnemy yes... so we would need to translate and learn a new language
1:00 (president turns around) Now, can somebody remove these bulletholes out of my desk?
I think this is the quintessential SG1 scene for me out of the entire series
The years' of buildup to get here: Earth not only having the tech & material to build a fleet capable of defending Earth but also the sheer size of the Stargate program to make it happen; a culmination of multiple alien allies and tech; and of course a solid build up of Anubis' power as the big bad who actually returned to Earth to threaten the planet for the first time since Season 1.
Finally we have the writing which is just pure SG1 - techno babble, drama, and humor all mixed with a soundtrack and visuals that are so rooted in this series
Sure the series continued on and the final fight to take out the Replicators is a close second, but those later fights were so large that this is the high point for me because it still retained that very basic premise of "SG1 saves the world" that carried the series for the first 10 years
I can’t be the only one who got chills and a full chub when Hammond and the boys arrived.
This was planned as a potential series finale before being renewed for season 8. If the show ended here they would’ve went out with an awesome bang.
Captain Benjamin Sisko of DS9 and General Hammond of SGC are the two foremost people you really wanna have during a war🖖🖖🖖
Как же я люблю этот сериалы и Атлантиду и вселенную. Шикарно. Пересматривал раза 3.
the president is terrific.
Can you imagine the first encounter with an alien by saying : "I've got to be kidding" 😂
The Battle of Antarctica! One of my favorite SG-1 scenes ever! KICKASS!
"Defend that scout ship at all costs." Hammond knowing SG-1 VERY well.
I loved this. This is the first time you see Earth defending itself.
0:05 yet not a single bullet hole in the furniture, wall or windows after shooting a dozen or so rounds each.
When I first saw this video, it gave me goosebumps, I have all of Stargate on DVD this is one of my favorite scenes along with the Stargate Atlantis scenes as USS Daedalus and USS Apollo with combined fleet took the Replicated Humans.
The late Prometheus refitted with Asgard systems would have one-shotted the invasion force like brushing off mosquitoes. .
"They are coming from the surface, My God, beautiful..."
Supreme Commander Hammond of the Earth fleet! May his memory never die ( Don S. Davis rip good sir)! Edit When Master Bra'tac said "they're not Goa'ld l, was like yeah boys cavalry's here!!! First time I saw this battle, it made me fall in love with Stargate all over again?
The kull warriors flailing around was pretty funny
ikr it looks like a power rangers vilain
I love how drones can pass gould shields like the ancients knew they be a freat
A lot of people are correctly praising Hammond... but can we also for a second admit that the President has a SERIOUS pair on himself as well?
I mean he did give the invading leader a big middle finger with what he said
Also now I'm reminded of the other General of SG who told an Ori Prophet "if we're going to hell, we're taking you with us"
One of the things stargate did better than any other series was a smooth yet amazing increase in power of the humans. At this battle they are in desperation and needed Lantean weapon to save them, at the end of the series, Deadalus would have wiped the whole fleet before tea time.
Look at that gun training as the agent fires his gun sideways while shoving people out of his way, excellent form lol
"What the hell was that!?"
"That was SG-1."
God, I miss going off-world with these guys...
This episode and "Heroes" (S07E18) are my favorites.
Such an amazing story arch. I wish we could see how Tauri are faring "today". They have the Asgard core, they have Atlantis, they have X-303's and -302's.
We need big story-telling minds to imagine this world.
basically the most anticipated part of Stargate during my childhood :D
Anubis: "Bow to your new god!"
POTUS: "Unfortunately for you, I invested in gold."
The best sci-fi series ever made imho. Very underrated by critics but beloved by fans.
we all remember how this felt... man i miss those days
I like how all these sci fi shows have massive ships just hovering in the air
I always really liked how the president handles that conversation. Regardless of how much bluffing he did, that's the perfect way to handle that situation.
It always gave me the impression that no matter how serious the threat of the Goa'uld and huge the galaxy is, Earth is still doing its own thing. Anubis was just an interruption for the president.
The best way to handle that negotiation would've been to just start laughing in his face. I mean hysterical laughter, from everyone in the room. Extremely unsettling to egomaniacs
One of my most favorite episodes.
I was a kid when i first time have seen this episode and i was so fascinating and still after so many years this moment gives me a goose bumps, thank you SG1 and Atlantis for reminding me my childhood ❤️
Best one by General Hammond! That was SG one!
Just reinforces what a fantastic feel good show this series was!
What a show it was. Lucky are us who got to live it back then.
3:00-3:01 in slow motion you can see missiles being fired from the port and starboard wings? idk what they would be called. i could be wrong but the missile launchers were located in the center mass launching "vertically" or aft horizontally.
also if you follow the missile it appears to go through anubis shields
Now they need to explain shooting up the Resolute Desk.
It was satisfying to see Earth able to stand up and protect itself with its own ship and fighters for once instead of being helpless.
The greatest battle the world will never know
This will always bring a tear of joy and wonder to my eyes...
Accidentally put the subtitles on and they had me in stitches! "If you possessed weapons magic Bobby... You'd of used them" thank you UA-cam auto gen 🤣🤣
Remarkably little damage from the hail of bullets fired into the desk and wall behind the hologram.
Jack Oneil: DANIEL!! 😑
Daniel Jackson: Jaack!? 🤔
Have you noticed that there are no bullet holes in the wall when they are shooting at Anubis
"Bow before your god."
"I don't think so."
This show was so unabashedly, unrepentantly American its like it came from a different universe compared to 2023.
They should have done an episode in where SG1 found itself trapped in an alternate universe where Earth has fallen to Anubis.
Anubis wouldn't spare anyone, it was as a matter of fact another reality were defeated anubis, but they made public the info about the stargate. And everything went south
A stargate episode with an alternate universe? Never happened before 😉🤔
Best episode in entire SG-1
Too phuking bad they can’t make shows like this anymore.
Gotta be in the Top 10 episodes
La mejor serie que he visto. Duro más de 10 años
This really was one of the best episodes of the show, hands down. William Devane as the president was an excellent, excellent choice.
Stargate is the bomb! 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Anubis: "Bow before your god." SG-1: "Puny god."
I can't help but admire President Hayes' trust in SG-1 :D
