The Xbox servers going down really made a lot of people see how silly always online requirements are. Been saying for years its not good for us and people just brushed it off but now they see what happens when everything is controlled by one part which can fail. Weird thing was that less than a day before PSN was down for a short time compared to xbox, starting to think this was caused by some outside influence.
@@jubei20111 Annoyingly yes, it was an interesting reaction compared to when PSN was down where that had people just flat out mocking sony for yet again losing peoples data and how it wouldnt happen on xbox, then the xbox got hit much worse but people just said it sucks and xbox needs to fix it, far more tame on the xbox. We need snoop dog yo make another vid on why tf xbox needs to be connected to play games, just some big callout for change.
The All-Digital-Future isnt't the biggest problem here when a lot of your physical games also does not work due to some DRM-Check or forced always Online. That's the most concerning problem here.
Nah, not concerning. So long as these corporations continue to enrich me and make me even wealthier with my varying investments, they can DRM all they like. This is what’s funny about gamers. They engage in faux outrage and in spite of, corps and investors like me have always benefitted.
@@cbgg1585I know people are gonna laugh at you or whatever, but I’m gonna be the guy to not get hotheaded and actually read what you said. I think you make a valid point - how many times have incidents like this happened, just for gamers to forget or move on? Honestly apart from HELLDIVERS 2 I can’t think of anything that was changed because gamers protested - they mostly rage for a couple days and then just move on. And people wonder why we are in the state that we are in.
@@TheAufziehvogel Thats the key issue, what our games rely on to be played and stored. It should always be down to having just a machine that turns on and a game thats on the hardrive or disc, nothing else should get in the way like logins or drm. Its why Im supporting GOG more, but its also why I bought my first PS console over xbox because I saw this coming a mile away when digging into what changes the Series made, and even when PSN went down I could still play my games.
This should be a real wake up call to those that defend all digital, always online etc..I still prefer physical over digital. And yeah, they are making physical copies rely on digital aspects now too. But at least old physical games on like 7th gen and older is fine to play offline and stuff.
Jon - "I hate when companies release digital first and physical later, super annoying." Also Jon - " I will be double dipping on both digital and physical." This is why they do it. Have some restraint.
he wanna report on the game and be among the first to do a youtube video about it or discuss it online. what do you expect? not make a living because it's super annoying?
That xbox outage was strange, I could still download and update halo infinite, I just couldn't actually play it lol, and since it's xbox you can't launch UA-cam or any TV apps without signing in turning the console into a paperweight.
I was at work while it happened so its now working for me. But it really put into perspective Xbox as my main platform. On PS5 at least you can play and install games offline.
@CarTastic-fv6eo You can't download games offline in any platform without wifi. If you set your xbox to home xbox you can play offline or if you just buy the damn disc.
This MIGSwitch nonsense will hurt the second-hand market. Any used game has potentially been dumped and therefore susceptible to bans, because somewhere there is another identical ID.
you really think nintendo care about that? companies want to get rid of second hand stuff this is another reason to but its also another reason to just aquire them however you can. kinda like the fake digital is taking over while not even doing anything to push physical. they want all digital so they can shut down games whenever they want and force you to the next game or you aint playing the game anymore. to be honest nintendo isnt even up there anymore they released like what 4 games complete the 2 legend of zelda games and some others and look at how many they released half complete that need downloads. the sports game animal crossing, mario sports, i think even mario party has updates adding new stuff, console is very quickly becoming an illusion. 3 consoles need to just go already to be honest
Well if you can prove you have the legal physical cartridge they would be required to unban your system otherwise it'll be a potential lawsuit. Easy enough to prove if you got it anyway.
Got a call from my mother, the Xbox service being down prevented her from being able to play solitaire on her laptop, stop this always online garbage Microsoft.
Solitaire is available offline, I just tested it on Windows 11 with Wifi disabled. It tells you your progress isn't automatically saved on the cloud, but it lets you play. Your mom's app probably needed to be updated first.
@@LogicalError007 her profile with her current games being played could not be accessed. In the past all these things were saved locally but now it's server based. Sure she could play the game itself but she could not play her game, think of it like playing a ps1 game but having the memory card being online server based.
Idk why people fanboy for consoles in the comments, if you only hype one and want the others to die, guess what, if they die then your company has a monopoly and has no incentive to keep prices at what they are. Say microsoft/sony said gnite. Suddenly nintendo might be like “hmm our console is worth double and games are $100 now” and vice versa. You want all companies to do well as you need competition. Not just for prices but for innovation.
@@lemonlime8949 there are no regulations for prices like that. Those only apply to essentials like food and water and only certain types of food and water and only for price fixing among many companies to raise them
I waited for the physical version of Metroid Prime Remaster; I can wait for anything at this point. It's great excuse to tackle the rest of the backlog.
@@djhowell5273 this is the lawsuits “The first lawsuit accuses Modded Hardware of violating the DMCA by selling mod-chips and MIG devices, as well as shipping modded consoles with pirated games. The second complaint accuses 'Archbox', a moderator of r/SwitchPirates on Reddit, of facilitating piracy and operating various 'pirate shops'.” The gaming giant reached out to its alleged owner and operator, Michigan-resident Ryan Daly, who also operates under the alias “Homebrew Homie”. “In March, Nintendo threatened to sue him, after which both parties agreed that the allegedly unlawful activity, which includes selling MIG devices and modded consoles, would stop. Despite this agreement, Modded Hardware didn’t close shop; that led to further outreach by Nintendo earlier this month after which it still remained online” Not only were the allegedly selling modded systems preloaded with games they were contacted twice by Nintendo to stop before being sued.
A legit use case for Mig Switch seems to be, only if you have a huge physical collection and want to take it with you on the go ... Backing up every copy.
Exactly. Not only is carrying around a ton of physical carts a bit troublesome, there could literally be thousands of dollars in there if you have a lot of games. In that sense, a flash cart with personal back ups makes perfect sense. The problem is, the switch (hardware and games especially) is still being sold and therefore Nintendo is going to care a LOT, especially since the switch successor is rumored to be backwards compatible. Hopefully it still will be.
I mean I don't pirate switch games but at which point can we consider it unsupported? You can still download your purchase Wii U games but not buy any. Is that considered currently supported? I think it's fair game once they move to the next system and maybe shut down the storefront from purchase.
With the amount of internet services down yesterday, I'd argue that losing access to our video games would be the least of our concerns in the face of a major internet outage.
Still have yet to play Alan Wake 2. I will play it when I have it physically. Same with Baldurs gate 3. No game is too big for me to wait for a physical release. And if its digital only then I skip it. I have plenty of games to play.
Sony was doing such a good job the past year of showing that a all digital future is not the way to go, that XBOX was feeling left out and had to just get in on some of that action.
Xbox outage is an example as to why I use Nintendo. With the lack of quality single player games (not to say the multiplayer games are quality either, haven’t played online mp in at least 7 or 8 years). it’s pretty much a paperweight until it’s back on
I lost my Red Dead Redemption savegame (xbox 360 backwards compatibility, disc in series x). It couldn't connect so i started without saving. You couldn't save without logging into xbox live. Today i reconnected and there is no old savefile left. Fck online DRM
Mig Switch peeps acting surprise Pikachu over all that's going on just makes me roll my eyes. Nintendo has been Nintendo-ing for YEARS. This was as inevitable as the annual stories of fingers/lmbs lost on the 4th after people are stupid with fireworks.
I couldn't play my Elden Ring disc at first due to the outage, but then I realised that just turning the wifi off meant that it would no longer try to connect and I could play just fine. Beat another boss. It was a good session.
Nintendo views them all the same. The mental gymnastics is comedy. To defend Nintendo after decades of them literally trying to stop everything. Fan made games are mods that were shut down. But Nintendo isn’t going after modded😂😂😂
in Japan, modded consoles is illegal... alot of modded console distributors has already been arrested there.. you are naive if you think Nintendo like people modding their consoles lol.
This is one instance im glad Nintendo is being aggressive. The Mig switch ripper being able to rip the UID's of games makes it Very risky to buy used games now out of fear someone ripped that cartridge then just sold it to the store.
yea they should have just released it without a dumper cause 99% of people are using it for piracy anyway. They thought the selling point and to keep it legit was to get people to dump there own carts but that has backfired and could ruined the used game market if nintendo continues bans.
You guys are getting ridiculous with not understanding how "Home Xbox" works. MVG made this mistake too in his video which he should know better. Especially the fact everyone seems to think this is an Xbox specific issue, despite the PlayStation 5 using the exact same system as Xbox when it comes to licenses. It's actually worse on PS5 cause you can't profile share with an active profile like you can on Xbox. On a PlayStation 5 if you sign into an account that doesn't own a specific game, but the account that does own it is signed in, as soon as you use the controller who doesn't own it to try and launch the game you will be unable to launch it. You guys have no idea how Microsoft AND Sony handles your digital purchases, and you guys always pick on specifically Microsoft while Sony gets away with doing the exact same stuff
The good old days when i could pop in a cartridge / disc and play without interference from the outside world. Good thing i'm selective on what i buy and don't buy into this digital crap.
Exactly! The DC/ PS2/ had so many great FULL games. Then the DLC crap started and became the norm. Remember when you’d play a game to unlock things? Pepperidge Farm remembers..
I'm honestly baffled how people are still only now learning that digital on console, means always online. I mean, this was one of the key points Microsoft was pushing with the reveal of the One. This also isn't the first time Xbox went down and the games stopped working.
My home internet has been crapping out a lot lately, and when I was offline, I was able to play Elden Ring in offline mode after attempting to connect two times. It was funny because, I was in the power leveling area, and I imagined getting banned for gaining 40 levels offline then popping back to online as a super knight.
From experience, when a company is silent on why a service is down, it's not good news. They would have to disclose a breach if that's what happened (again) but I wouldn't be shocked if emails suddenly went out after investigation and closure of any potential vulnerability. Either way, Sony has become quite the scummy company of late.
I wanted to play Elden Ring on my xbox series X. Couldn't due to the outage. So I was like "hey, this is a cool moment to use one of my physical copies of games again!" So I popped in Sekiro. Then I saw that I couldn't even play my physical games! Not so sure about my console anymore now, even though the whole "polished plug and play gaming environment" really, really appeals to me.
"Polished plug and play gaming environment" 🙄 Console players will say crap like this while getting butt tickled more and more every generation, DRM being added to virtually every aspect is a joke, far from "convienant plug and play" The EA PC launcher actually handles offline mode better, what a joke. Learn to hook an hdmi cord to tv and computer. And boom. A PC gaming library, despite being on a device most associated with internet browsing, has less drm than a home console. Its a tipsy turvy world. I know the idea of dragging files into folders might be scary to you, but when you use an iota of brain power, its actually not so bad!
Bro I can play elden ring offline but im on PlayStation its hard to do because there isnt just a option to go offline but it certainly plays when im not online. Does the xbox not allow this?
I wonder if Nintendo will be banning switches based on who bought a Mig Switches. From the lawsuit they say they are asking information about who bought the Mig Switch from moddedhardware (email, names, shipping address, etc.) It looks like they want to know how many were sold, but I wouldn't be surprised knowing Nintendo if they were to. from the Lawsuit page 23: "Requiring Defendant to provide NOA with any and all invoices, purchase orders, shipping confirmations, receipts, and any other documentation reflecting revenue received by Defendant in connection with the Circumvention Devices, Hacked Consoles"
Nic all star brawl 2 is actually pretty fun, probably the best smash bros clone I’ve played. The single player mode is set up like a rouge like and is a great time to play thru
Speaking of physical, where's all the physical pc games? Those still exist? How long since they've been on store shelves? Xbox was fine for me last night. Searches and downloading were slower, but otherwise, there were no issues. Unless you are game sharing, there's no reason not to have your xbox set as home console.
11:29 You haven't heard of Golden Idol?? Oh man, you're in for a treat. Just a fantastic detective adventure game with a unique approach and a killer visual style. Has the kind of "Aha!" moments that other puzzlers can only dream of. Highly recommended.
@@lemonlime8949 it's a joke. but nintendo still doesn't care. they went after the people who sold tools that allowed you to mod/hack your switch. that was some years ago.
Dead Rising's different release dates just sounds like how movies go on sale digitally before physical, and they promote that with, "Get it before bluray." Other games, like Alan Wake 2, at least gave some reason about cost and sold it a little cheaper, even though it will have a physical version later this year. Capcom isn't even bothering to make an excuse. Companies want you to buy digital, and they know that all it takes is customer impatience to convince people to buy that way.
12:50 that is the main reason why i started to download cracked repacks of my games to saved them in a 12tb hdd, also because i noticed some games don't play well with Linux while a cracked version works flawlessly through Wine.
Spotted the guy who either doesn't know what he's doing or doesn't own an Xbox. You can play gamepass games offline completely fine so long as you setup your home Xbox.
It’s not as simple as using ROMs. It’s if there’s a certificate mismatch. Meaning it’s not the cert for the game. When pirating you never know what you’re going to get so don’t do it if you don’t want to be banned.
Saying "against modders" is a bit disingenuous imo and looks like engagement bait, they specifically go after people that were Switches with pirated games pre-installed, they're first and foremost pirates, not modders. Same for people that get banned.
@@bern9642 still pirated games, no? Based on the lawsuit they were selling hacked Switch consoles with different games pre-installed including a lot of retro ones, lawsuit mentions that this list "includes" tonnes of GBA, NES and N64 stuff, but doesn't say that it's all they have there. I just think it's a really weird thing to do when they know how Nintendo reacts to people getting money on their stuff, especially pirated. Tho that's kinda pedantic, I just feel that it's weird to put it as "poor modders being targeted" when it's not the case.
I'll never get why even buy those pirate cartridges, like if you want pirate games just get a modded switch, that way you still can play online, why risk it so much when those cartridges aren't perfected like the R4s?
Xbox Live didn't go down for me. Not in any way I noticed, at least. I downloaded The First Descendant on Xbox last night while playing it on my PC, where I had it pre-loaded already. (I main Xbox.) It downloaded just fine. When the download was done, I played Control for a few minutes for Reward Points, and then hopped over to Resident Evil 4 for a short while before heading to bed. Xbox Live didn’t go down for everyone.
@@jackoski__19 So those of us who were already logged in before the outage... we were the ones that were fine then? Because when I was playing The First Descendant on PC, I saw a lot of Xbox and PlayStation Gamers playing along with me. (It is a cross-platform game, if you didn't know.)

I had to reset my Series X yesterday, because It was having a heart attack. The whole Menu's were glitching out upon Booting my Console. Today I was able to log back in. But still having issue's downloading games. The digital future sure looks great.
Wassup Jon(SW). The New Ys Game is looking pretty decent. Really cool find finding that Kiosk Switch Cartridge, i do like these kind of Stories within Gaming. Neat Dreamcast Sonic Skin for Sonic x Generation. Yh it's not looking good for the MIG Switch right now. Definitely strange situation why PS Stars has gone down without any real explanation. No real big hitters for the first batch of Games on Game Pass in July but some very soild Titles nonetheless tho guys. An All Digital Gaming Future is gonna be fun lol. Really good Poll, if a Digital Version of a Game i really wanna Play comes out first, I'll get that Day One and then get the Physical Version down the line when it is Cheaper. Nice Comment, RGT 85 is a Good Sport 👍.
I'm not surprised about the situation with Nintendo and the MIG. I would guess the PS Stars services was down to make some back end updates. The whole Xbox Live down situation is finally making people realize how bad it is in regards to your actual 'ownership'. Maybe now people will understand why digital/streaming has its huge risks. I buy the physical version later. Not announcing a physical version only to release a physical version months afterwards is a dirty move and definitely they're hoping for a double dip purchase.
The xbox thing yesterday was dumb but next time it happens people need to “go offline” then restart xbox and can play offline. So happy xseed is localizing memoires ys oath in felghana, it’s one of best ys games and most challenging. I imported switch version from japan so getting ps5 xseed version
I think labeling them as Nintendo modders is generalizing and makes it seem like the average mod/fan-game developer is pirating Switch games. Pretty stupid. I'm glad I unsubscribed a few weeks back, your video titles get really clickbaity and sloppy multiple times a week.
I believe in two things: CFW modding to be available for all consoles & preserving physical media game discs. Digital is good, but leave physical games alone, please!
this is why i don.t like all digital. to much depends on internet. nintendo switch you don.t need to be connected to internet to play your games. you stay signed in if your console is offline or online. xbox sieres X if the service gos down you get signed out. i rember when i 1st had xbox one. i had slow internet so i said im gonna get a pysical game because my internet is to slow and this game is 80GB so i buyed it pysical and i had to install the game and download!!!! a update that was big!!!!! and im like omg. had to wait 12 hours for the update to download. i was thinking i was better off buying it digital. i miss the days were you buy a game and just put the game in and play. they don.t do that no more. thats why i liked pysical because i wanted to save on space to. so its no use anymore. your better off just buying digital for xbox sieres X or ps5. they sould have made xbox seires X like 360 were you can get a choice to install the game or play from the disc. now were froced to install the game.
kiosk "switch" dartridge found - huh, very odd. nintendo bans mig "switch" owner - more like nintendo threaten them to stop producing the mig cart and dumper and also the mig "switch" dumper could create roms of it and play on emulator. i'm sure nintendo would still find a way to strike the mig "switch" creators down. poll - wait and buy the physical one.
Not al switches are modable. The mig switch alows somoene with no skills, if they can find the roms, to just put ont here and play, Way easier than moddind and also no mod needed, of cours ei tmakes sense for pirates to do it with mig switch.
I can’t even login because it says I’ll need internet when my Xbox is literally connected to the WiFi and nun is wrong with my WiFi at all, can’t wait to get my ps5
I have a feeling the fact if xbox goes down and lose ownership of games you bought is likely why they are trying to move most games to xbox game pass xcloud. Its just a way to cover their tracks.
My guess with Playstation Stars being gone for so long is that they discovered some major exploit or bug internally and quickly pulled down all access before any users were able to abuse it. Could very well have been some security issue as well, and its been down for so long because they are checking everything and making sure that the new update is secure.
My speculation on what the Switch successor will be: A new SKU Switch with upgraded graphical horsepower (minor) and a few quality of life upgrades to the joycons. The real "upgrade" is in the dock/home-console (where the real graphical horsepower uplift resides). And here's the twist / gimmick I'm not seeing anyone else consider: The handheld switch does not need to be docked to play in TV mode. In fact, you'll have a "new" controller option of using / pairing ANY SKU Switch (Switch-2, or original / oled / lite) to the console and use it like the Wii-U gamepad. You'll be able to pair up to 4 switch's simultaneously to 1 console for multiplayer games. The Switch-2 compatible game cartridge goes in the console (TV connected side) and the paired Switches just become A/V connected controllers that don'tall each require the game cartridge. So imagine the best parts of the Wii-U, the 3DS, and the current gen Switch, all wrapped into 1 ecosystem. This also solves the backwards compatibility vs DRM dilemma. They don't abandon current gen games compatibility on the new hardware (combo of hardware), and they give a reason to keep selling their current gen/SKU Switches right into and beyond release day of the Switch-2. Nintendo always creates a new gimmick. I think this is the most plausible one they can pull off for maximum "new purchases + previous gen maintenance".
My newest owned gaming hardware generation is the xbox 360,PS3,WII. I saw the writing on the wall and did NOT like what I saw. We are now up to 3 console generations that have varying degrees of ownership and playability issues. On the PC you never know when the blatantly forced all digital only environment will bite you! GOG gives us some breathing room due to the DRM free nature but best to backup everything you buy on GOG just in case. Modern gaming REALLY SUCKS!
Nintendo fans only buy Mario Pokémon Smash Zelda stuff and rarely third party games. Even MH stories and SMT v flopped on Switch with 142m install base not to mention other third party games like harvestella or disney illusion island etc...once gta 6 drop next year ps5's will be flying off shelves and come for switch all time sales its over sony win generation! 2025 will be sony's year, switch 2 will be no threat whatsoever
With the makeshift switch thing, that is why I never buy marriage stuff because it’s always gonna get patched later on the company. Nintendo is going to get pissed off and then they’re gonna find a patch to fix it so you won’t be able to use it and then you just wasted your money. As for Xbox, Game Pass I hope that the new version of seven days to die that is supposed to come out July 25 is coming to Game Pass day one because I kind of spent all my money on steam for the summer sell. And yesterday when Xbox live went out, I didn’t even notice because I was on my steam deck all day yesterday still trying to get mods to work. I got on my steam deck and then I was trying to get cyberpunk 2077 it’s on Vortech so I can manage it, but I downloaded the mod yesterday and then I went into the game played it for a bit. Tried to get the simple menu to pop up and then left the game went back to vortex and the stupid mod deleted itself for some reason, so now I have to download it again and put it in there again and figure out why it’s not working. I hate Lennix. I didn’t know. I was gonna hate it so much before I got the steam deck because I never used it for regular gaming it works, but trying to download mods or cheats on Lennox is a pain in the ass. I like how windows does everything for you. I did get mods to work on my state of decay two on my desktop computer, but it’s not made for gaming and it’s slow as hell it kind of runs state of decay too, but slow and laggy, but it does do mods on it. The windows program does everything for me and I don’t have to switch files around as much as I do with Lennox. I don’t know what the hell I’m doing really I’m just falling videos on UA-cam. I am a console gamer, not a PC gamer really so that’s why I don’t know what the hell I’m doing a little bit.
Sony was planning on connecting Sony Rewards and PlayStation Stars but they scrapped that idea a while ago and decided to just close Sony Rewards. The main reason why Stars has been down is someone screwed up the data tables that tracks the customers data. This was pretty serious and they had to take time to rebuild those databases.
I would have thought the 23 day PSN outage of yesteryear would have been evidence enough of the risk of an online only ecosystem. The paradigm was different so the damage not as severe but there's literally only one logical step to reach "oh, if the back end is down I lose everything". Don't pay companies for products that they don't SELL to you.
No john It doesn't depend on the game, I'll wait either way for a physical release. Alan wake for example, waited for it then skipped when it was only digital. I'll buy it if it releases on disc. I buy digital games if they're free (plus/gamepass) or if they're HEAVILY discounted, as I'm paying for a license not a game
I have a theory as to why ps stars has been down so long: A lot of these quests allow you to download the demo of a game to get your collectable or points, instead of having to own or download the whole game. I got Clouds Buster Sword just by downloading the FFVII Rebirth demo and launching it. Didn't even need to own the full game. Also got some points that way from downloading other demos. So I'm betting they're trying to fix that. Seems like a reason it would be down so long, cause they were trying to figure out how to stop it. Hopefully I'm wrong, but we'll see when they roll it back out.
1) there is no unique identification for games 2) Nintendo don't care if you have your own non pirated copy they just want emulation gone full stop. 3) stop trying to keep making Nintendo great just so your stock price goes up, we weren't born yesterday. 4) your physical games are broken and useless without day one updates. 5)Not all the game is included on the physical media.
Oh, trust me I do still have a Balan sealed copy for Shawn (RGT85) for switch to sign. One day, yep, one day! And I'll have a cash payment too for said signing (to RGT, if he see this). One day my man!... 😉👍
I find it odd that you said oh maybe we should keep physical games when you just described an issue with Xbox live were even people's physical games are working The point is we've become reliant on a connection to a web host whether the copy is physical or not. This issue will not be resolved by buying a physical copy. We need a solution much like g o g provides. We need a DRM-free or at least fully functional offline option.
Digital distribution is not the problem, it is in fact a way for many gamers to access games around the world vs the old days where only those privileged people could get games physically and others would either missed them or pay so much more for them to get an imported copy. Problem is XBOX execution of digital library , it is unacceptable that I cannot play a single player game that I own without being online to initiate it. Nintendo for example, if it is your home console, you don’t need to be online to start a game. I don’t mean to start a console wars discussion, I am a huge Xbox player as well, and with the All Digital Strategy Microsoft is preaching, I only can hope it will be different later, but zi don’t hold my hopes too high
Xbox servers going down is nothing new, anyone remember the disastrous xbone reveal and the “3 million servers” thing? Yeah didn’t work out to mean any better service did it This is why gamepass is a trap. You don’t own your games. They will eventually go away for good, as soon as they decide to pull the plug.
Mines was back on by like 8pm Well, we all just been through this with the PlayStation five like 6 to 8 months ago. People should know how that works now it’s unfortunate thing that happens. PlayStation Nintendo and Xbox needs to stop making everything online only etc. etc..
Down servers happen. Any intellegent gamer knows this and always has a backup. I just played on my laptop with no issues Play anywhere FTW. Can always boot up a 360 as well until outage is fixed. Its usually fixed fast. Not the end of the world.
Stars better start counting physical purchases from PS direct, shouldn't just be from PSN store for points, this guy makes huge deal about PS stars, but just blows off Xbox live a paid service is down, ridiculous, this is why physical is king
Even physical media now a days has an online check or barely any data on it cuz it's just used as a key to access the game rather than an actual copy of the game itself. We're screwed. Can't have nothing without sailing the seven seas anymore. Wth, man. >:/ buying is no longer owning. They shouldn't be surprised that people take from them when they take from people.
When Sonic Generations first came out, the only console I had that it was on was the 3DS, and so I never got the experience the 3D sonic generations (how ironic!). I'm very looking forward to the remake, and although I never heard of Sonic Jam before, I'm gonna sign up to get the email for a skin! my collector brain n e e d s it
I'm probably one of the lucky few that can play my digital games, THAT DON'T REQUIRE THE INTERNET ALL THE TIME, to be played offline every time the Xbox Live goes down.
We need a new term to encapsulate the idea of "dosconnected physical", or offline physical. Nowadays, physical discs and carts sometimes only serve as keys to digital games. So while we we need physical games to stay, we need a particular kind of physical game, the one that is fully playable offline. Offline physical. Maybe that'll work as a term.
Ok honestly, I don’t even care what Nintendo does at this point. I don’t even play on my switch so them banning crap for the switch I couldn’t care less. Pc handhelds destroy the switch in all categories with battery life (if you even care about that) being the only thing switch has over them. We live in a day and age where people don’t want games to be exclusive to a specific platform and they shouldn’t have to be but Nintendo is greedy and knows if they port their games on different platforms no one would ideally choose to play on their outdated hardware, let alone buy it as they probably could pirate easier if their games had a native pc port
Just got email that my ps5 BG3 physical edition just shipped and should have it by the 10th. Been waiting for about 1yr for this to show up. First time I double dipped on a game. Won't be opening the physical edition up. Just will sit on my shelf
You say people are excited about the digital future. Honest question, are there actually any consumers excited about the digital future? I’m sure publishers are excited, but not so sure about consumers being excited. It’s either just a current reality that consumers have resigned themselves to accept, or it’s all they know.

And by today they'll have largely forgotten about it. Gamers have the memory of a gnat.

Yeah I think this was outside too and I don't think it was for a reason any of us is thinking.

Idk why people fanboy for consoles in the comments, if you only hype one and want the others to die, guess what, if they die then your company has a monopoly and has no incentive to keep prices at what they are.

I think if you didnt talk a lot about the MIG SWITCH nintendo probably wouldnt noticed.....i said probably.
:V
This is why the older consoles are better. 😂
Yeah didn’t work out to mean any better service did it
This is why gamepass is a trap. You don’t own your games. They will eventually go away for good, as soon as they decide to pull the plug.
Mines was back on by like 8pm
Well, we all just been through this with the PlayStation five like 6 to 8 months ago.
Sony is the scummiest company there is.
This happens exactly 2 years ago in 2022 July. With Xbox everything even sp is drm hell why can’t they do like the Nintendo and Sony way. Even disc on Xbox is drm also not full on disc because greed
