    How do you do all of this while also flying the aircraft? Autopilot?

    Hi captain tnx a lot for your explanation
    If you don’t mind I have a question to ask
    As we know while extending flaps the AOA will increase and therefore the lift will increase
    So why when we extend flaps the nose goes down?

    • @PILOTCLIMB
      @PILOTCLIMB  Рік тому +1

      Because the lift increases, if you keep constant AOA with more lift you will climb...

    • @amirhoseinmahdavi2453
      @amirhoseinmahdavi2453 Рік тому

      @@PILOTCLIMB But it’s vice versa while climbing right?
      I mean after take off while retracting flaps the nose will come down therefore the climb rate will decrease

    Another great instructive video 👍🏾 . What if one flies for example at 180 knots with flaps up, the faps up maneuvering speed was at 192 knots and the amber band on the airspeed indicator was around 166 ~ 167 knots ? What are the consequences ?

    • @PILOTCLIMB
      @PILOTCLIMB  2 роки тому +3

      I'm glad you like it!! Well you should not fly below the minimum maneuvering speed because you get close to the stall speed for that specific flap setting, the Aircraft won't fall from the sky if fly momentarily below the minimum speed because you have a margin before reaching the stall speed.

    Why do some pilots/airlines skip flaps positions?
    For example Southwest Airlines has company rules for flaps setting.
    Their flaps setting is more agressive.
    Also why do many pilots who take off with Flaps 5, select flaps 1 instead of Flaps 2 first?
    Is there a rules of thumb at which speed you have to select flaps 1 from flaps 5?
    I mean rules of thumb like V2+20knots or V2+25 knots.
    Thank you for your help!

    Could you explain please, how do pilots determine the moment when they have to decelerate to extend flaps? You could either extend flaps too early and fly too slow for a long period. Or you could extend flaps too late so that there will be no time to adapt to the new configuration of an airplane. So how could we understand the perfect moment?

    • @PILOTCLIMB
      @PILOTCLIMB  2 роки тому +1

      The perfect moment come with experience... Check the videos regarding descend management i made to know more about this topic

    Question, Could you go from, say 210 Knots and just set 200 Knots and drop flaps 15? Or do you have to drop flaps in increments per the speeds on the Airspeed indicator

    • @PILOTCLIMB
      @PILOTCLIMB  Рік тому +1

      It is best practice to extend the flaps incrementally, in order not to stress the flap mechanisms top much

    instead of going to flap 1, 2, 5, 15... Why not just go to directly to flap 10 since max speed is 210. then from there, go to gear down 15 then 30 passing the FAF. So you don't have to go through so many flap settings.

    Hey captain i have a question, the speed reduction comes from the flightplan or ATC instructions or can we manually manage the speed reduction? And how will that affect the schedule of the flight?

    • @PILOTCLIMB
      @PILOTCLIMB  2 роки тому +1

      Usually during the approach the ATC will give you speed instructions that you should respect, however the commander have the final authority and responsibility regarding safety and stabilization of the approach.

    Hi captain thanks for lovely videos... can we extend flaps 15 without lowering gears?
    Just in case if we wish just to reduce speed without further drag for example speed restriction by ATC and you are still flying level yet and want to delay lowering gears

      @@PILOTCLIMB That's why we have to verify 3 green lights before touching the flap lever because the gear may not go down 100 percent of the time. We may one day have a gear failure. Try it in the SIM and you'll see why Boeing tells the crew to verify first

      I dont know how it works in a real 737. Im just a simmer. But in MSFS 2020 with the PMDG Boeing 737-800, if I extend the landing gears while at flaps 15, I will have a configuration alarms that will go off in the cockpit. The only way to prevent that is to extend the gears at let say flaps 10 and then, after they are extended, I can go to flaps 15 and continue the flaps extention. But as I said. Im no pilot hahaha
