Dude, I am really enjoying your channel. I broke my ankle and been watching your channel to pass the time on my couch. What an incredible shop you visited. Cheers from Utah.
Thank you!!! I am sorry to hear about your ankle. Hopefully, you can get back in the shop a little soon! But I'm ok if you keep watching videos hahahaha
Wow! What a shop, dude!!! 😮 Thanks for sharing this! But hey, right in the beginning... You scared me with the mouse cursor! 😂 Anyway, stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
Such a well thought out shop and complete (couldn't wish for anything else). I wouldn't put planes in windows because UV damage. They'd be toast here in Australia rather fast. New Zealand are our next door neighbours, and a frigging long from Brazil.
Ah I didn't even think about the sun hitting them. I should have watched to see where the sun hit that window. I didn't know you were in Australia! Explains the good sense of humor tho :D hahah
you were definitely geeking out! That was some shop! Thank you for the tour! As far as the Incra fence goes, I don't find mine to be finicky at all In fact I have two incra fences both with the Wonderfence attachment. I think where it gets a bad wrap is the steep learning curve or multipart instructions to get a task done. IE half blind dovetails double dovetails etc etc. It is a process and you need to do it at least semi routinely so you don't forget how. (but that is pretty much true of most dovetail jigs) Their instruction manual is top of the class. Very thorough videos to get yourself back up to speed if you need to. I have an incra fence on my router table and I have it paired with a MLCS (now Hvalley out of philly) Power Lift Pro which to me is in class all of its own. its a digital router that you can set the height by .001" digitally via a mechanical step motor. So between the the fence and the motor I have the next best thing to a CNC or at least I have CNC precision! ( I do own a shaper origin but thats another story all together) My other Incra Fence is on my table saw and again, repeatability is the key here. It is soooo sweet to be able to make a cut move the fence then come back and make the same cut as the first and have it dead on each and every time. Plus I have a 2nd router table in the side wing of my Table saw so the fence acts as a router fence there when I need it too! I live outside the DC metro area in VA. if you are ever in the area, you're more than welcome to stop by. Im more power tool than Hand Tool but I do have the required set of good quality hand tools that every woodworker should have. Oh and that G700 yeah it was the bomb! I had one in my old shop in the attached garage. Had to have something that didnt disturb the family. But Now that I'm in my new stand alone shop, I went full cyclone. The two negatives with the g700 for me was the small capacity(always emptying that thing) and having to lug a hose to every machine in my shop. It is so nice having dedicated ducting to each and every tool! You could duct the g700 as well but it simply isnt as powerful as my 5hp Clear Vue.
Thank you! This was awesome info!! Your shop sounds awesome too we may have to plan a shop tour! I go to VA a few times a year not ro the DC side but next year Plane Wellness is gonna have a satellite location close to there so I'll be out that way more frequently!
Remember when BlueSpruce made a coping saw? They took it away right when we widely realized it was fantastic and worth the money. The Fear Of Missing Out is so intense sometimes. I mostly ignore it but dang some of them sting so much.
I didn't get the vibe from him that it was fear of missing out. I know what you mean tho! (I fall into that sometimes haha) He likes supporting small makers and custom makers and sees hand planes as a useful form art he enjoys seeking out and collecting. He has a plane collecting hobby on top of his woodworking hobby. Not that I think about it... I do too just not of this caliber haha my millers falls collection is nothing compared to this hahaha
@@BatCaveCreations I saw the Blue Spruce coping saw hanging below the Knew Concept saws. Reminded me of not being able to get one now. He won’t be missing out on it, because he has one. Haha
My Incra bends and twists. I have it on a Powermatic. It’s mounted poorly. It’s trying to suspend to much weight for what it is. Wood Pecker or Jesson will eat them for not continuing to innovate. He is buying quality and high resale value. Nice job. Buy the biggest bandsaw that you can jam into the shed I say
I deff agree about woodpeckers and jesum. They are innovating things almost every week. Incra will need to keep up. Breat point about the band saw too, Thank you! I hope you are well!!
KIller shop tour! Mine is no where neat that level, but I love a mix of magnets and decorative but usable display as well. You should do well with a Laguna 14" bs. I already had a Grizzly so I just added a riser kit for $135. Only 60 amps in my shop, gotta watch the HP, maybe upgrade the motor one day.
Thank you! I really am thinking the 14bx, everywhere I look peope have then and love them. I'm currently working with the smallest Wen band saw with a resaw of like 3" hahahah
Hi Jamie. Beautiful tools, for sure. An enviable shop. But I would be more interested if this was balanced with examples of what have been built with these tools. Otherwise all it takes is money - taste as well :) ... so money and good taste in tools. Furniture? Regards from Perth, Derek

Windows face north, and are heavily shaded by trees. Only brief morning sun. Does worry me though. Will make sure the wood stays oiled.

Oh oh haha sorry misread that! Lol that saw is boss but changing from coping to fret is rough :(
Geeeeees the amount of money in tools there is incredible. How does he like the Kimmons drawknife?
He loves it! But blames me for the purchase cus I told him about Kimmons hahahha

Hey, he built the 2 live edge workbenches shown but it would have been fun to include his other projects. Thank you
