    I'm not against oil for hair as I use it myself. But massaging your scalped daily enhance blood circulation and blood flow can cause hair to grow. So, it could be that and not the oils itself that got you the density. Not saying stop using oil as adding oil does make it easier to gently move your finger around, just that you can probably just pick 1 oil you like best and keep doing it too. Hair grows on average an inch a month and 100-days is 3 months so 3 inches is what you should expect. I think want this challenge did was help you be more consistent in taking care of your hair and that's what helps you retain length and keeps your hair growing. Keep it up!

    • @malaurie9825
      @malaurie9825 2 роки тому +117

      @@malaurie9825, I should of said, some people's hair can grow an inch in month. My bad. I still think it's more from the head massaging and the fact that it was in protective style for a month. The less you do with your hair the less breakage. But I'm happy she's retaining hair and it's growing. I just don't want people thinking it's solely because of some special oil solution and because she actively and consistently took care of hair and scalp for 3-months.

    So I was having the same problem with the crown area of my head - breakage and dryness. I tried everything - every leave in I could find, castor oil to the scalp. I found out that I have an oily scalp - oil breaks through around day 3 or 4 after wash day ( thus needing to wash twice per week). The oil was doing more harm than good - causing excessive shedding. Also due to my high porosity, the summer sun was bleaching my hair and causing breakage. You'd think I would've figured it out when my hair turned from dark brown to a lighter brown in the summer, but alas, ya girls a dumbass. I hope this helps somebody struggling with crown issues.

    Not sure if you'll even see this, but you are rubbing your scalp too intensely and that may be contributing to breakage as well. Naptural85 has a video of when she was doing water only washing & scalp massages, how she would scrub too harshly out of habit and it would cause excessive shedding and promote breakage. The rubbing can also contribute to traction alopecia. The scalp needs to be stimulated in a way that doesnt disturb or pull at the follicles.
    I noticed the same thing myself when I oil my scalp early in my natural journey & had to take it easy. Harsh rubbing disturbs the hair follicles and breaks off hair, especially if it's fine, dry, coarse, or brittle. You want to do a soft circular massaging motion on each section, kind of like when you massage your temples to ease a headache, and then pick up your fingers and move to another section, dont rub or drag your fingers across your scalp.
    I love your content, but I wouldnt feel right if I didnt mention it & I have thick tailbone length hair. If my verbal explanation is confusing, consider looking up "Indian scalp massage for hair growth" on UA-cam and they'll walk you through it. Also, for an added boost, if you arent trying to keep your hair straight, at least once or twice a week, after you thoroughly oil your scalp add a little of your favorite leave in conditioner to the length of your hair, & sleep with a shower cap on overnight to really open the hair follicles!! I sleep with like 2 scarves over it trap in heat better. Your follicles open up without being disturbed at all & the oil penetrates the scalp deeply and the leave in mixed with your body heat helps add moisture to your hair from sitting overnight. Hair will be SOFT and you can just seal it in like a wash and go or put a styler or gel on top, and go. But you'll notice your hair growing way faster and thicker. It's called "the green housee effect method." Hopefully my comment doesn't get filtered out and you actually read it 🤞🏽cuz I know it'll help.
