Here is a rare treat for fans of the movie Thomas and the Magic Railroad. On May 13, 2017, renown film composer Hummie Mann uploaded the full version of Neil Donell's cover of the song "Shining Time" from TATMRR on his SoundCloud account (the link is down below). This version of the song was heard for only a minute in the final film and despite being played again during the end credits (covered by Maren Ord), this particular rendition was never released on the official soundtrack. Special thanks to Hummie Mann for sharing this rare piece of Thomas history for all to hear.

OMS I have literally been looking for this version since I was a kid. I can hear my 8 year old self crying tears of joy somewhere in the distant past.
I actually loved this movie as a child and the music was really heartwarming, especially this one. It may have flopped in the box office, but it’s an important part of Thomas history

This movie was one of three movies that I watch nearly everyday when I was kid. It made up one-third of my childhood.
Flash-forward seventeen years and I still love this film. Not just for being a huge part of my childhood, but for being an amazing film that I still watch, to this day, whenever I get scared or sad, and it cheers me right up.
Same Dawn. I started crying. I also watched this movie nearly every day of my childhood.
I watched it everyday at one point. Once the director's cut gets released, I shall make sure my kids grow up with it.
What's the latest word on that, the director's cut being released? Anything promising?

Last year, I managed to get into contact with Neil Donell and this is his response to me of his recollections of doing Shining Time: "Hi. Unfortunately, I don’t have a great deal to contribute in terms of the sequence of events leading up to the recording session as it took place during a time of great upheaval in my life. I have been a session singer for many years and have more than 10,000 sessions to... my credit. I got a phone call and was booked on the session not being all that aware of what it was actually for. If memory serves, they were looking for a voice that could evoke the sound of James Taylor and as I am a bit of a chameleon vocally, having reproduced the singing voices of well over 100 other singers, I got the call. How much they used or did not use of my version of the song in the movie, was irrelevant at the time. All the best to you."I know 2019 will be a great year if we keep up the support for the lost edition of Thomas And The Magic Railroad. Let's #RestoreTheMagic!

Thank you so much for uploading my friend. So cool that after these years Mr. Mann released this song for all the Thomas and the Magic Railroad fans out there. I guess he decided to wait till that generation grew older for this song to have the nostalgia it deserves.

I watched this movie almost everyday as a kid! I started crying when I heard this (as strange as that is). This movie was my childhood. Go forward to present day me (Age 21) and I still listen this song whenever I feel sad or afraid!
