Hey folks! In preparation for another new album I've been giving the once over for my past few covers, during which I've made some changes to my choral/orchestral arrangement of "Night Train." My older version is okay, but it just sort of droned, and sounded like it was missing something. (Even the original TV series version had a punch to it that my cover didn't have at first. haha) This new revision is now more symphonic with more expression and dynamics, and greater contrast between the sections of the song. (which fits better for a symphonic arrangement.)

@@paveloleynikov4715 that whole bit “driver Checking, gauging, peering fireman stoking by his side” is also very good. Gives the imagine of driver , fireman and engine working in perfect unison .
@@welshboi2228 Those were some of my favorite times in Original Thomas, zooming in to the little wooden men who ran the engines.

He could ask Henry, but he asks the guy in charge of tending the fire. Without his driver and firer, Henry is a cold engine, fast asleep.
The engines need their drivers and firers, and they need their engines.
It's a huge missed opportunity to relegate them to the background. I've often felt it would be nice to see a bit more personality from the crews. We get glimpses of it at times.
Even now, I doubt there's ever really been an episode about an engine fighting a temporary driver. Which is a shame cause that writes itself.
Jame's driver being shifted to Toby for a day, how confused would he be? Would he complain at Toby? Who blames their engines, rather than realizing the fault is with them, needing to adjust to a different engine?

Hearing this with George Carlin’s voice made it feel like a caring uncle was reading you a bedtime story. It’s why he’s the best narrator to date in my opinion.
George carlin has his satirical act routine at times but when he narrates thomas and friends, it's like all that vulgar comedy disappears and all I hear is a gentle man telling a story that many people have heard for decades. Funny huh?
It's great how the classic series songs were made to match the beat of the puffing engines.
Some HIT Era and Miller Era songs continued that rhythm like “Hear the Engines Coming”.

I just noticed the whistle in the beginning wasn't no ordinary whistle, it is HENRY'S whistle, or more accurately, his whistle from The Railway Series books 😁
Its a whistle based on the Stanier hooter whistle which was used on most LMS locomotives designed by William Stanier including the Black Fives which is what Henry is based on.

I loved this version better that the last one. And knowing how much I liked that one it’s saying something!
The drums sure add that military feeling if you're marching to this version. Good show. :)

Honesty have a big smile on my face, though I'm long past this show and overall fandom. The memories and wonder I had for the original 1-5 seasons came rushing back. These songs from these seasons will always stick with me

I loved the previous version, but this one's much more epic! It's got more of a beat to it and sounds like an arrangement for a theatrical film. I can clearly see the night train segment from the series playing in my head as I listen to this! Bravo!
Thank you! Yeah. My original vision for this cover is how the song would have sounded if Hummie Mann orchestrated it for TATMR. So I reworked the arrangement into something more cinematic, to better reflect my original idea. Glad you enjoyed!
