Looks like your stable might be similar to mine, 2018 Focus ST-2 and a 2015 Mustang GT Prem PP. I'm 71 yrs old now so not too much into the mods these days. My wife has a 2020 Fusion titanium with the 2.0L front wheel drive and it's not a bad car to drive either. Nice video covering your mods!
very cool tutorial, not 100% but if you've done brakes you really dont need all the uninstall/install details. Ive been to many track days and lots of intense weekend back road cruises, and the stock ST brakes are terrible. They will fade very quickly if you're on them for consecutive corners. I have Hawk DTC-60 pads, ss lines, and Motul 600 high temp fluid, and it made a DRASTIC difference on the track. I have a separate set of rotors/pads/wheels/tires for the track vs daily...so I just swap the Hawk stuff off after racing. Im picking up my buddy's Brembo RS calipers for the front with SS lines and some rotors.. you do lose the dust shield but the brake performance increase is well worth it. I'll prob keep the rears as the stock ST set up since i already have good rotors/pads for it.. but once they're shot i'll look into the RS rotor/Mazda bracket like you did here. Cars on its way! Lots of improvements others wont notice until they see how well you perform and wonder 'what all you've done to it' ^_^ I get asked a lot on the cruises with high powered V8's and supercars at the track (ZR1's, GT3/GT2's, etc) what all i have done, and i tell them its a stock turbo and stock motor with just FBO and E30...they cant believe it. These cars really do very well on a track with a good driver, and braking/cooling are your biggest enemies. Get yourself a quality oil cooler too..temps get real high on the track.
I see that you needed the retaining springs. Does the front caliper come with retaining pins and bleed screws? I figure if the springs are separate I need to be sure about the other parts. Also, did you keep the rear ST pads or upgrade to RS pads? I figure the RS pads make sense for the same friction properties. A grabby rear might not be wise... The red paint was very clever. I didn't think you could DIY and have it look so GOOD.
Thank you! Caliper comes with the bleed screws but not the pins and spring. That's a Caliper Hardware Kit as per Ford. RS and ST have the same rear pads if that's what you mean,
@@SeanMcGuigan so did you also have to purchase the pins for the fronts. Im slightly confused. You mention the retaining spring but not the pins under the list.
@@Symbiote_3vo8 just buy a new hardware kit for the calipers you're looking to get/or have...new hardware is literally super cheap and insures you have all new, long lasting rubber/metal parts from the abusive heat they'll be getting. Amazon, Rockauto, AutoZone/Oreillys/etc, Ford, should all have the hardware kits for a few bucks (pins, screws, springs, grease, etc)
Nice vid. I see you had the 'Premium' wheels sitting by, not the snowflakes. That said, you mention using 3mm spacers for clearance, and put a caption stating 'for snowflakes'. So, do your 'Premium' wheels fit without spacers? thx in advance
I was told they are the same master cylinder and booster. Being a 4 piston caliper I don’t believe there is a big volumetric difference. For example on my Boss 302, when going from the 4 piston Brembo to the S550 6 piston I did experience a difference in brake pedal pressure. This is solved by changing the Booster, master cylinder and hard lines from master to ABS module.
Do you know what color code the factory paint is on the stock calipers? When i do mine I think I’m gonna paint them the Ford oem Race Red color. Awesome video man, and very helpful.
Thank you 🙏 I’m not sure what the factory Caliper paint was. It was slightly lighter than the paint I used. After I got the wheels on it’s hard to notice though.
@@SeanMcGuigan get a chance to try out the brakes yet? Gonna do mine over the winter. Where you get the quick jack? (I think that’s what it’s called lol)
I have a RaceRed 2016 ST, the paint code is PQ/M7236. You can check the inside of your door for the paint code. Take the paint code to a Sherwin Williams or something and they can get you some spray cans made up with the exact paint from the factory, and dont forget the clear!
can tell if you're trolling...or.... but for some reason if you're serious, why would you want to do a massive downgrade in both size and performance? to maybe clear 17" wheels on an RS? lol
@@SeanMcGuigan 1. ford took the STs and refunded the core charge? 2. You used the Mazda 5 rear caliper bracket to run the RS rear rotors? 3. And the rear calipers Rs and st are identical except the color correct?
By far the best tutorial in the web to upgrade the Focus ST breaks. You saved me a few bucks man, cheers!
Thank you! I'm glad it helped
Thank you so much for the part numbers and the forum post!

Where did you get the Brembo stickers from?? Can’t seem to find authentic ones
Im going to do this swap to my MK2 ST/XR5i ..
Buying these in the US because its sooo much cheaper.. and let them send them to Germany.
Where did you get the spacers from? I'm assuming those are hubcentric

Hi Ted. Ya, I was wrong they didn’t fit and I ended up having to get RS wheels for winter and aftermarket wheels for summer/ Track
Where did you get the brembo decals?
Did you have to swap to an RS master cylinder? Or is the volumetric flow rate pretty much the same as ST calipers?

question bout the front calipers... do you use the ST front caliper bolts or RS ones?
Bolts are the same for the ST and the RS.
About how long did the install process take?
I keep finding the stoptech stainless steel braided brake line part numbers being the same for both the ST and RS. Anyone have experience with this?
RS front lines are different than the ST. Rear lines are the same.
Are the rear brake pads for a Focus st or Mazda? I don't think I heard you. Thanks
Focus ST. The pads and Caliper and the same from a RS and ST. Just a larger rotor.
Oem RS rotor if you use the Mazda BPYS-26-28XA caliper bracket.
Link for the wheel spacer???
Haven't watched your vids in a while...what's the status on the boss?
Hi Chris. Nothing yet, plan is for spring 2021. I will try to make updates as they come up.

No they were returned to Ford for the core charge from buying the RS Calipers.
