    Part numbers for the brake lines please. I heard that swapping OEM 4 pot brembos to ST, you need to buy RS brake hoses/line. For rockauto it states “Front Left BRHF154” the other one only states “Front BRHF55” I’m confused and not really wanting to spend 200 for a SS lines

    • @dham99
      @dham99 Рік тому

      Brembos from the RS are an upgrade, doubling your piston count and rotor surface area..and they're cheaper. Of course a high end 6 piston kit is going to be even better..but personal experience on a track, even stock ST brake calipers (single piston) with Hawk DTC-60 pads and Motul high temp fluid work great..but theres def no reason not to upgrade. Id say unless you really plan on doing a lot of high speed track days, the Wilwood would be overkill and could spend the money on other stuff. The Brembos would be perfect paired with a dedicated set of track pads and Motul high temp fluid. I have two sets of rotors/pads/wheels/tires, i swap out at the track, then swap my street set up back before leaving the track.

    Does this still maintain factory brake bias?

    • @VikVaughan
      @VikVaughan 4 роки тому

      Within allowable deviation, yes. Keep in mind the RS and the ST have the same rear brakes (but the rs rotor is very slightly larger). It's a Ford approved mod. The RS Brembos are not noticeably stronger than the stock ST front brakes from my experience driving them for a few months. It's mostly for looks.

    • @zerorocks1
      @zerorocks1 2 роки тому

      Does the RS have a different proportion valve I guess is what he means

    • @dham99
      @dham99 Рік тому

      @@VikVaughan this isnt really true, daily driving you may not notice...but if you drive hard on the back roads or especially on a track, the stock ST brakes are TERRIBLE. You have to upgrade pads, and even then the single pistons are not that great, but will work. Its pretty much a given if you drive hard and brake a lot from high speeds (like a track day), you at minimum upgrade pads and swap with high temp fluid. But these provided a significant increase in stopping power and distance with dual pistons and slightly more rotor surface. Of course wider tires also helps with braking performance.

    • @brockwalls1413
      @brockwalls1413 7 років тому

      Larry Richelli ST brakes are a direct bolt-on to SEs, so these should logically fit. All 3 Focus models use the same hubs. The dust shields will be a problem though.

      @@VikVaughan yeah, if you drive in traffic. Ive literally MELTED a front set of brakes driving the ST beyond its limits and using less than high performance pads....upgraded pads and higher temp fluid will be good for most people..but once you up your speed (usually from a bigger turbo), you NEED better braking. These work good paired with a set of DTC-60 pads and high temp fluid. Its all in how you use the car. Most cars even with FBO and an ethanol tune still never see a track..just street racing and parking lots lol
