This is a great question - I'll assume you mean the Best African Music Performance category. There are many variables to consider here including possibilities such as artists from those countries not submitting for consideration. We simply wouldn't know. Since that category is new and presented for the first time this year, what we will see over time with the nominees and winners will be trends that may point us to a worthy answer.
This doesn't make any sense to me, if this award category wasn't rigged for tyla then why wasn't 'calm down' or 'love nwantiti' nominated.... afterall i dont think the time the song was released was considered, it was performance right and as long as it was big. Love nwantiti was just as big a hit as water, on tiktok, spotify...everywhere, it even had a cute dance too. So why didn't it even get nominated....cuz then tyla wouldn't even have had a chance, LOL😅
Did any of those artists label submit their songs for consideration? Ayra Starr was already nominated and from what I understand a label can only support one artist at a time and Marvin records had already pushed for Ayra so they can’t push for Rema also

The problem is that Davido, Tems, and Burna Boy are simply not good singers at all. Tyla is barely halfway decent. It's like these folks are tone deaf and when you hear them live, it's not good. Afro beats is certainly about the beats. That's another issue, Afro beats is heavily driven by programming and not live instruments and that could get repetitive and boring.
