Here's a question since people only get 10 referals. Is there a way that normal people can added their codes to UA-camr comment section to be added to the next video description? It seems spammy and bad manners to post our referal codes in the comments without permission, but this way people can easily get access to a referral code after a content creator hits their max of 10 for the Year

I purchased a Model Y earlier this year and want to exchange it for a performance Model Y with the Quick Silver paint job. Do think it would be better to wait until 2025 is out? I was hoping the put the same screen the Model three has in the back.
You guys are so lucky with all your government incentives, while over here in the UK we have none, even Tesla dropped the referral scheme in April and next April all EV's will incur annual road tax of £190 ($250) and any car with a list price over £40,000 ($52,500) will incur an additional luxury car tax of £410 ($540) and a MY long range with blue paint and tow hitch retails at £55,380 ($72,720) and just to top it off there's 20% tax on electric via public charging stations compared to only 5% on domestic electric. Our government say they are committed to going green etc but then offer 0 incentive schemes to help the public to change over.
Yep, Tesla’s just overpriced here both to buy and to lease. I’d love a Model Y as my company car (due to be replaced next year) and even with the tax incentives as a company car they are just too expensive. Unless they get them down under £40,000, the luxury car tax from next April is only going to make this worse. Praying Tesla get a smaller/cheaper Y out by mid next year, otherwise I’ll have to go with a non-Tesla Car (again!).
Sales tax exemption in NJ ends 10/1/2024. The rate will be half of gasoline cars for a while. NJ also started a $2,000 point of sale tax credit starting 7/1/2024. The $2,000 credit is worth more than the sales tax exemption.
I would much rather see a smaller Model Y than a stripped out model 3 as a lower priced car, the hatchback is far more versatile than the saloon, but the current model Y is a bit big for the European market as a small family car.
Put a hatch on the 3? It has a pass through from the trunk when the rear seats are folded. Seems a lot easier than creating another car. Or did I miss something?
Would love a proper hatch version of the 3, but with a decent boot (trunk) height for cargo (the Y is already steeply raked). Much more likely to do a smaller Model Y IMHO or even a more basic Y and the existing Y’s get more range.
They should make the os modular, or like Linux. Then you could pick package versions or features individually. Then Tesla could see what features are most popular by how many people run them.
@@why6212 Interesting topic. So I did some digging and asked about the UA-cam app on Tesla. If the info I found is correct Tesla currently uses a fixed image on the infotainment computer. This is far safer and easier for Tesla than to allow programs/app loading and unloading on the infotainment computer. It prevents error like when A and B are loaded but not..etc Tesla shares the infotainment computer with navigation and most everything that was once controlled with a knob, switch or slider. The EU tariffs are designed to compensate for government subsidies to Chinese auto makers. The tariff is different for each brand, based on calculations for each brand. Tesla didn’t negotiate down to 9%, they got that because they are less subsidized than others in China - especially the local automakers like BYD, Xpeng etc.
Point of reference about the Xcel Energy program for CO. Tesla may not be eligible for this since it mentions the vehicle must be a buy/lease from a COLORADO BASED CAR DEALER. Has that whole dispute over Tesla being or not being a "dealer" ever been settled, in Colorado? I guess it only matters if Xcel considers Tesla as a qualifying purchase.

We will never have cheap cars in the USA . Even if for sale in another country our government will tax them to sell here and we will end up paying the tariffs and the car will end up being expensive as all others.
We need to keep legacy automobile factories alive as long as possible. If Chinese EVS make it to America for sale, the ICE cars will take a big hit. Only Tesla we'll be able to compete against Chinese.
I’ve armed friends with my referral code on 3 separate occasions. When they test drove the vehicle at Tesla, and then went to purchase, they were told it couldn’t be used. That was disappointing. But between that and all the other little annoying things that have happened over the last 5 years, I’m growing increasingly dissatisfied with Tesla. I no longer recommend Tesla to people who ask my opinion. Further, I’m keeping my eyes open for an EV alternative when I purchase a replacement for my M3.
@@gsmith2520 First, I probably won't be buying a new vehicle for at least another 3 years. So my timeline is a bit further out. Regardless, Tesla has given the charging network advantage away. Honestly, I was happy to see that. It puts EV's that much closer to being a mainstream product. (Which we need for the sake of the planet.) But in 2-5 years most, if not all, manufacturers will have NACS integrated into their offerings here in the US. Second, I have FSD. It's nice. I use it regularly. But I'm really beginning to question whether it will truly become autonomous within the next 10-15 years. After running their cars in the Vegas Loop for 3 years, they can't go autonomous there. If they can't do that, in a simple and controlled environment, what confidence should we have that, after years and years of promises, it will be truly autonomous in public roads any time soon? The rest of the world is catching up to Tesla. Nobody is there yet... but I'm seeing the lead eroding. In 3-5 years, when I'm ready to buy, I think someone will be offering an EV that's comparable in value, fits me better, and cares about their customers as owners and drivers a lot MORE. We'll see how it all plays out I guess.
@@gsmith2520 In 3 years or so, when I'm ready to replace my M3, most major EV players will have NACS charging. I would miss FSD. But other systems are getting better. And, I wouldn't miss it so much that I'm willing to continue putting up with a "Tesla first, customer second" mentality that seems to come from Tesla's customer service. Lastly, as an owner and investor, I'm about done with Elon and his antics.
Too bad the poor folks in Colorado have to deal w these immigrant gang crimes Instead of just enjoying their cheap new teslas 🤦♂️😅 what world do we live in….
It’s not hard for me to imagine that Tesla will make a larger model Y in China and not bring it to the US. A larger model Y will increase Teslas sales in China. A larger model Y in the US will only hurt Teslas profits because it would cannibalize model X sales. What would make more sense in the US is a model Y juniper, a smaller model Y juniper and refresh the model X with lower cost manufacturing to bring the model X price down $10k or so while incorporating the new design language of the highland and juniper. A cheaper model X would still sit at a higher price point than the larger Chinese model Y, but would get more buyers because there are more affluent customers in the US than in China.
This is very FALSE "average ICE vehicle at $49,988 and the average EV at $72,240" How is this false? It does not account for the volume of sales. It does not account for the dealership markups. It does not account for the planned obsolescence and parts mark up. It does not account for the price of the $2.5 million dollar super cars.
There should be a channel taking your 20min videos and compressing it into a 1minute video with almost the same amount of information. Definitely possible!
X is such toxic bullshit these days no matter which way you look at it. I removed it as well, I had to unfollow Elon a few months ago when he started being quite unhinged.
I like the idea of more affordable EV's, but a lot of these discounts seem like they're geared towards those with not a lot of annual income. This means they likely arent going to have at home charging either. Supercharging is great and all but if that's all you have available it certainly isn't as great of an overall ownership experience which them makes fewer and fewer folks prefer an EV. As great as these cars are if it's a hassle to own then not enough people will want to own them. I mean, what would you expect when you highly incentivise a product, then dont have the right infrastructure to support it.
For the 'here and now' OP is correct. The even near future negates the comment. To wit. San Francisco with the lamppost chargers, the many state that require apartments et al to have a 220volt plug at each parking slot, improved battery tech and charging times and MUCH more.
@@harriettanthony7352 I agree over time it will improve and maybe even be a non-issue. In most places across the US though it's going to be a problem for a long while. Especially in the Midwest where I am our policy and regulations are not so EV friendly.
i don't get it, If there are 2,000,000 Teslas that are capable of being a robotesla, but aren't because the software isn't available, why would anyone get excited about a "robotesla" and software that isn't available. If a robotesla becomes commercially viable before Tesla owners that paid $15,000 for software that still doesn't exist, in the hopes of making many times the purchase price per Elon, I would expect Tesla to be served with more than one class action lawsuit. Whatever Tesla produces, I hope it has entirely different styling queues than what is currently being sold. Tesla needs new "blood"
Tesla has only increased prices in 2024. No lowering of prices yet. Hopefully soon but as the government increases what cars get the 7500 tax rebate, Tesla takes advantage and keeps prices high. Tesla wants that money instead of allowing it to benefit the consumers.

@@danharold3087 yea I see your point it’s just kinda strange model s owners say that the model 3 performance 2024 is a better buy than the model s, which makes me believe they don’t know what they paid for or they feel like the car they bought was over hyped other than the speed. Let’s not forget they also sell a option to have better brakes for 20k that should of came with the car at launch which give people the mind set to scratch their heads. But the model 3 doesn’t need it even tho it has a quicker 0 - 60 Other than the plaid.
@@suku6413 You know, the Model S is much bigger, faster, better interior, better sound system, much longer range, than the Model 3 and the Flagship of Tesla?

What about the Tesla charging Network you will miss which is big?
What about missing Tesla autopilot or full self-driving?

05:44 for the actual news on Model Y, everything before is pretty much a paid commercial for Mando :(
It’s not hard for me to imagine that Tesla will make a larger model Y in China and not bring it to the US.
I want to see you play the bongos
Ryan is a top level pro jazz drummer, FYI!
This is very FALSE "average ICE vehicle at $49,988 and the average EV at $72,240"
How is this false? It does not account for the volume of sales. It does not account for the dealership markups. It does not account for the planned obsolescence and parts mark up. It does not account for the price of the $2.5 million dollar super cars.

I expect it to be very different. Regardless of what it looks like the haters and media will not like it.
Tesla has only increased prices in 2024. No lowering of prices yet. Hopefully soon but as the government increases what cars get the 7500 tax rebate, Tesla takes advantage and keeps prices high. Tesla wants that money instead of allowing it to benefit the consumers.
