    Steve I used to watch you all the time but as I've gotten busier and busier I haven't been able to watch regularly in years. I check back every once in a while and I'm always glad to see you're still doing good and still onrey as always :) thanks for all the entertainment over the years and for never changing. I hope one day to be in mass to buy you a beer or lunch 👍

    So I'm a female homeowner with a copper elbow leaking from the ceiling .The pipe is exposed just over the doorway (no door) in-between my kitchen into the laundry room so drips onto the floor. I see the green corrosion and very small hole but the corrosion isn't bad ,house built in the 50s been here 14 years 1st leak ever. Lol..The small hole was a tiny sprinkle months ago but now a drip. Oh Lord, I think the elbow needs replacing. Just watching to see how yall fix these leaks as I place a bucket under the leak 😂. Lol....
    ( will send out an S.O.S. to my brother in law tomorrow as the sound of the drip is driving me 🤪)

    What a complete fraudulent plumber installing "copper clad" steel. Stuff like this is why homeowners should be able to sue for damages because of the city code inspectors approval or signing off on this crud. I presume it is not acceptable for meeting code.

    I know you don't let the jerks bother you Steve - still - it's annoying that there are video surfers that don't have a life of their own and try to get attention by making smart ass comments - there's masses of people like me that enjoy every moment of all of your videos - I think you're the most "unfake" person I've ever seen on YT. I would guess that sometimes it must be a pain for you to keep up with your channel so thanks a ton for keeping the videos coming - I liked all of the JD stuff too (when your truck was down). Thank you 🙏

    I had a small drip coming from a copper elbow. The weird thing is that it would only leak when the upstairs tub was running.

    • @GJPBall
      @GJPBall Рік тому +2

      Water is going to follow the path of least resistance
      It may seem at the elbow but it could be up above and running down the pipe.
      Just seems weird only while it’s running
      Water is in the pipes regardless if it’s in use or not

    Very highly likely Type-m copper, and-or pipe side not reamed. Vortex within water will burn pin-holes within fittings themselfs, as well as pipe runs. Save 7.00 bucks differential per stick copper pipe, only to lose half day doing twice, cutting/patching included. 7.00 dollars, I'd follow there seminar advice.

    Flux keeps it from oxidizing heat has nothing to do with capillary attraction space does take two sheets of glass sandwich to get her a place end in a glass of water you will see capillary attraction with no heat

      "Soldered joints depend on capillary action drawing free-flowing molten solder into the gap between the fitting and the tube. Flux acts as a wetting agent and, when properly applied, permits uniform spreading of the molten solder over the surfaces to be joined." That's from the Copper Development Association. Seems Steve is right - again.

      Turn the shutoff valves so the handles are pointing slightly away from each other. This will ensure the handles do not bump into each other when turning the water on or off.
