A little tip for Loach pilots if you see a friendly helo taken down but the pilot survive, you can pick em up. You are small and fast enough to take em to base. I am an active loach pilot and whenever I see a downed cobra/Huey I try to pick up the pilots. It usually makes their days.
Absolutely, love being picked up by a loach or HUEY to be taken back to base. :D Very movie like.

He is still hitting shots that should be impossible.... there's something in his brain that just understands the geometry of the shots. I've seen him do it in other games too lol.
A week ago when I was playing Rising Storm 2 Vietnam at Song Be I was the Machine Gunner and The Enemy Poach was like on my right side and I quickly look down on my right and shot burst fire with the RPD onto the cockpit, killed the pilot, and he crashed very hard. Back in the old days. During the Vietnam War the Huey's and many Helicopters didn't have the best Materials from 7.62mm ammo and many more.

"20mm minigun" isnt really a gun. the minigun evolved from the vulcan, which is also a 6 barrel machine gun, but chambered in a 30/20mm cartridge. the minigun is a vulcan essentially, but chambered in a rifle round, or 7.62, making it a mini version of the vulcan, hence the name "minigun".

One correction (as of 2019), commander abilities (like SAM) cooldowns are set by each maps. It's not a fixed 180s.
Decent video but I play very differently.
When I use the cobra Im always sure to launch all the rockets right in to the largest masses of my team mates, then for good measure I crash in to the main spawn point.
If that fails and I accidentally crash land, I will be sure to camp with my handgun to guarantee your team is missing out on having a combat pilot for the duration of the game.
I think the vast majority of combat pilots employ these strats

Felt great knowing I saved a Huey pilot from impending doom by popping a dushka gunner by the head when flanking as a solo pointman

20mm M61 Vulcan is not the mini gun. its the full sized one. M134 was the scaled down version for 7.62x51 Nato round and called Mini-gun.

how come you have those settings in Aircraft options? I only have 3 options there: collective controls (jump/crouch keys) - Invert Aircraft Y axis - Advanced Flight model (I have it on).
But I don't get the rest of the options like your screen. Is there a way to enable them?
its an older version of the game the ones missing are basically in key bindings in the helicopter section.
ve been practicing helicopter landing for several days, still difficult and fails many times.

Trying to tell your average "fresh out of cod/analfield" Rising Storm player team-killing is a thing and is annoying is like screaming at a wall. Pointless, exhausting, it erodes at your sanity and in the end it's still going to be there.
