You can actually detonate claymores without the clacker out. Just switch to your primary while you have the clacker out, shoot some Charlies, and then when you're ready to detonate, press G.

Eh... black being sneakier is kind of a myth, I find them to be less hard to spot when I play NV than you may think, black isn't a natural colour in nature, that's why armies stopped using black tones in camos
I absolutely disagree, the Stakeout with the No.4 Buckshot creates an unstoppable wall of pellets and is much more likely to kill someone before they can react in emergencies.
VeryUnfriendlySpoon all about preference. Personally i cant use the shotgun for shit, i just cant hit someone unless im shoving the barrel down their throat, so i have to go with the greasegun (which happens to be my favorite weapon in the game luckily).

ive heard the shotguns, particularly the double barrel, described as sniper rifles, and well they are by the standards of most games where everything is hitscan and thus suffers from decreased damage over range with shotgun pellets magically vanishing after a certain distance. typical effective range for a videogame shotgun is like 5-10 feet aka point blank, mostly because otherwise people cry it's OP, especially when shotguns are usually known for being found in the hands of campers that do nothing but watch one particular doorway or corner the entire game and not much else.
This must have been fun back in the day but I feel that pointman has been nerfed a lot since this video. Claymores seem weaker and it takes several seconds to disarm traps not instant disarms like in this video.
Or you take the juicy old man, give him the Cavalry hat and look him as South fan as possible. Nobody of your team will shoot you.....maybe the black cammos..

One time playing pointman, I made my character a black dude and got killed by a FNG. He said "I thought you were a charlie" and I told him last time I checked, Vietnam didn't have much black dudes.
Not only is picking up other rifles good for range and having pretty much endless ammo, upon firing, enemy vc may not be as quick to react to shots fired because they hear one of their owns rifle being fired instead of the enemys.
My dad trained to become a pointman before going to Vietnam. He had a lot of funny stories and a lot of scary ones too! And my grandfather was a medic and was a part of the big red one and took part and successfully completed 5 campaigns in ww2 from Italy, north Africa(Tunisia ), Germany, France including d-day , Europe, but unfortunately before crossing the bridge over the river Rhine a German mortar shell fell on his location and he was vanishing up another soldier when it fell and it killed him while my grandfather only sustained shrapnel injuries to his left wrist and a price of shrapnel about a quarter of an inch away from his heart. He never got the piece out away from his heart for fear of more injury and even death.

My family is rich with stories as with a lot of other families. But I'm very glad to be a part of this family. I'm adopted from Russia when i was 3 months old and I'm 20 now and this year!! I need to understand more about the Scout role in VC. They always say 'Scout Reporting; but I don't know how to report or what this really means except it shows enemies on the map. But how do I report it??
I personally like to roll pointman with a Thompson set to 150 meters (for clearer sight picture) and just tap with 3-4 rounds max. Flank hard and push to get 3-4 kills before dying. It works well to chip away at stuck positions and sometimes you can get even longer killstreaks, but it all depends. The game’s been whack lately with the influx of epic games store players. Already they’re getting better yet sometimes I run out of ammo first before we finish capping due to sheer quantity of FNGs. Lmao.

Experience taught me that the grease gun is actually very effective even at long range. If your target isn't moving fast, it's damn accurate whatever the distance. The trikiest part with this gun is to learn how to accurately shoot by the hip at close range. Once you get this, you are a deadly threat. Makes you want to never get back to the M16. Smoke is extremely useful to push through enemy lines especially when you're a squad leader. One thing that still bugs me though is that you can't use the grease gun in tunnels. Such a nonsense to me.

I place traps in the strangest places that nearly nobody goes, I barely ever have them disarmed and about 50% of the time I will get a kill when I usually wouldn't.
Worst part is getting picked off out of nowhere from a guy that's 100m away, you can't see where the fuck they are but apparently they see you clear as day, even when you're in heavy brush. It's infuriating.
I wasn't interested graphically, but my God does this game not have some of the most interesting mechanics. I get the mechanic idea behind not using standard primary weapons in the tunnel, but why not SMGs? I mean the stock on the GG even folds. I also love that Soviet SMG. One reason I adore Soviet sides being represented.

Yes the game has been updated and changed many times actually. Definitely more interesting gameplay now that defuses take a few seconds.

Pointman is my favorite class. Shotgun is good, and sometimes I like the .45 revolver because it seems more accurate than the M1911

I love this video, and also believe the M3 is a great gun, but sometimes shotguns such as the Duckbill can kill multiple enemies at one time

i always play the riot shotgun and im really good with it. the biggest pro for me is that hitting a target is easier.

One of the things I've been able to do with a shotgun is get multikills with one shot, especially with the duckbill attachment
Why are some of my enemies glowing red when I get close to them?
Having a skin tone similar to the VC as a point man and picking up an AK, you can cause mass confusion

If you're having issues with the shotgun, try using slugs. Turns it into a rifle or sorts, and can kill things past 10m if you hit.
My mistake. US gets 2 choices of buckshot.
Indeed, on the Hunting Shotgun for Vietnam they get slugs. Still buckshot is the best overall IMO. Can still snipe haha.

had a pointman next to me in my squad, he jumped in a tunnel before me, I died to a trap. He didn't bother disable it, or warn me.
