I just bought a re-manufactured Getrag/Muncie HM282 that appears to be a 1987. GM listed P/N 1052931 fluid (in 1988 specs were changed to P/N 12345349). Amsoil website shows this fluid compatible with either GM number. So this Amsoil fluid should be ideal for this trans-axle, correct?
Now what would happen if I put this stuff in an 88 Cavalier Z24 with the 2.8L V6??🥴 a 35 year old transmission with 114,000 miles on it, bites through all the gears🤷 should I flush out and use this stuff??
AMSOIL MTF is the correct fluid for your transmission. Now whether it will cure all of your shifting problems is another matter, but worth a try. If you have a mechanical problem, such as worn synchronizer, worn or broken gears, bearings, shifting forks, this fluid won't perform magic tricks and fix those issues.
I have a T5 Borg Warner transmission. I have been using Amsoil 2000 and have never had a problem in twenty years. I drained the T5 to simply change the oil and then found out the 2000 gear oil is not made anymore. Can I use the Severe Gear 75W -90 W. Will it hurt the syncros? II don't want to use the Manual Transmission Oil I want to use a higher viscosity weight oil.
Would this fluid work well in a Mazda M5R2 transmission? My specific application is a mid 90s F150 and calls for ATF but It appears the front seal is leaking and I thought perhaps a thicker fluid might help. Last time I changed the fluid I used Motorcraft Mercon V which I believe is synthetic.
Hey I have a 2008 mercedes c300 manual transmision and I'm having a small gring on 5 but only ones the car is warm. Could I use this and would it help?
The NV4500 (Gas Engine) and NV4500HD (Diesel) both hold 8 pints of fluid. AMSOIL recommends Manual Transmission & Transaxle Gear Lube 75W-90 (product code MTGQT). You will need 4 quarts. Please use Referral Code 1302686 if you place an order. Contact me directly at (678) 787-3028 if you have questions.
i have a 2006 Honda accord 4 cyl and Honda says only use Honda mtf factory fluid but i feel like my 1st to second shift is sticky in the cold. i was looking for something better than factory to smooth out my shifting is this product okay for my manual transmission?
Yes - AMSOIL MTF is the recommended fluid for your 2006 Honda. I had a 2007 Civic Si w/6 speed that had the notorious 3rd gear problem, and this fluid improved shifting greatly.
Most likely AMSOIL Severe Gear 75W-90 (product code SVG). This gear lube meets GL-5 spec. Check your manual or online search to see if your vehicle calls for GL-5.

Unfortunately, AMSOIL does not have a product that meets the GM spec for your transmission. Due to liability concerns, I can't recommend something off-spec without significant personal experience - which I don't have with your car.
Most G56 transmissions in Ram truck use automatic transmission fluid. I would recommend AMSOIL Signature Series fluid, product code ATF. Most of them hold about 10 pints (5 quarts). Call me directly for more info and to get wholesale pricing. (678) 787-3028
Will this work well with a 04 Acura rsx type s? My third gear tends to pop out of place at times and some say this helped with that problem along with shifting . Thank you in advance
Anthony Cruz Yes it will work well. Several years ago I had a 2007 Honda Civic Si with the 2.0 engine and 6-speed manual transaxle. I too had 3rd gear problems (it would not go into gear all the way, and then pop back out under acceleration). The AMSOIL MTF fluid greatly improved the problem, but didn't completely fix it. The real problem is a design flaw with the gear and synchronizer. The AMSOIL MTF fluid is the best solution short of a complete rebuild, and then it would be the best fluid to use after a rebuild for long-term protection and easy shifting.

Unfortunately, AMSOIL does not carry a transmission fluid recommended for the MT82 in the Ford Mustang. Neither the MTF fluid in this video, nor AMSOIL Dual Clutch Fluid, meets the Ford spec. I have 2010 Dodge ram 2500 6.7L with G56 6-speee manual and I used to run ATF+4 (What dealer recommends) but I switched to AMSOIL synchromesh manual transmission fluid and regular capacity of G56 is 6qts according to what my dealer told but I over filled 2qts so total of 8qts and did amazing for me, I put 60,000 miles and now my truck has 250,000 miles and I'm changing my original clutch and doing fluid change and I noticed that with AMSOIL there's not as much metal shavings after 60,000 miles of heavy towing.
No. The TR6060 transmission calls for ATF. Best choice is AMSOIL Signature Series ATF (red top bottles/bags). 7.4 pints w/o trans fluid cooler / 10.4 w/cooler. On an SS model, the 1LE package cars have transmission and rear diff coolers.
My Ford Ranger is hard shifting. I use Amsoil Transaxle gear oil 75w90.. Is the Synchromesh a better manual oil as replacement?
