I think god armor shouldn’t be in the game because it’s just to OP, like imagine full Netherite god armor turtle pots and and golden apples, you would be unstoppable, if they stayed, the more enchants the more durability the armor needed to use imo

I remembered this change before upgrading my survival to 1.16, so i stayed in 1.14.2 and made every type of armor a god one, leather, gold, chain, iron, diamond and another diamond for netherite. And now they sit there being useless, but it´s pleacing to see leatherarmor with 9 enchants.

On PS3 i forced players to play a game I called mob fights ( it's players vs mobs with digging off and mob griefing turned off ) what was I the merchant they traded the drops for gear with outrageous prices and goods to trade ( at least repairs where free 😉 but no refunds ) 2 years later of the players grinding for loot they got the few op weapons and god apples I had for sell ( one god apples had lvl 5 smite and they ate it accidentally I lmfao so hard ) but a year after that my data got corrupted and the next day the PS3 fried the PS3 was over 8 years old when it kicked the bucket

Man, I remember being able to make god armor getting removed as a big thing that happened recently. yet its already been two years. and, like you said at the start of the video, has largely been forgotten about by the player base...

You you know what, I think a perfect compromise would be allowing god armor to still exist in the game but only on golden armor. The reason would be because golden armor already has more inherent enchant value but due to its lower stats across the board, no one ever uses it. Allowing gold armor and only gold armor to achieve god armor status would give it a value and even more just bling potential and personally I would think that would be really cool and I would make god gold armor in my on worlds just to have it and maybe even to wear it. And it would add more variety to the kinds of armor and game players might wear. Which is a huge bonus because see everyone at the end game with the same goal gray pieces of armor is kind of boring there’s no variety at that point. No customization ability
I think thats a great idea. I wish there were more things to differentiate the armor and tool types. Like in 1.17 leather boots don't fall through powered snow.

I think copper armour can have it the developers said that they wanted each armour to be unique so they can add copper armour and make it the only armour to had god armour status
You know the warden mob? I think that mob should be only killable if you have God armor, somewhat of a late game advantage, assuming they allow God armor to exist.

I remember on WiiU on creative worlds you could add all types of enchantments on armor and sword. For some reason you could also add Sharpness V, Fire Aspect II and other kinds of enchantments on your armor pieces
Same with all the legacy versions i tried it on ps4
You can do that in java creative mode also. Not sure when that feature was added but it's been there for a while
and sharpness actually increases the damage dealt even on armor (if you use it in your hand like a sword)
OH How I remember those days! Back then I didn't even know what all of them even meant, and we didn't even have internet back then, so no help from google then. Man those were the days. ;)
Yeah I went back to my old world a little while ago and my sword had so many enchantments on it that the text would lag the game 😅

I think god armor shouldn’t have stayed in the game because the game is already too easy with netherite being added. I remember in one of your old videos you were talking about how the game may have gotten easier and I feel as if god armor would be too much.

@@TheMisterEpic But god armors are only as good as normal maxed enchanted armors. And players have to grind hours just for showing off.
@@PhantomShibe nope, you will gain extra protection from different type of protection, like your getting 4 hearts from creeper explosion with full blast prot 4, and if you have god armor that also have all the enchantment, you will only get 1 heart of damage from creeper, this also work on projectiles, Lava / Fire. So god armor isnt the same as normal max enchanted.

since protection reduces damage by 64%, you can combine it with a turtle master II potion which gives resistance 4 (-40% all damage) for almost complete damage immunity (your armor will still take durability damage)

Pretty sure it’s not additive. Which means that say you had 100 Hp and reduced damage by 64% by prot then you would take 36 damage. Now reduce that by another 40% for the turtle master thing you would take 21.6 damage
If I remember correctly, resistance IV gives 80% damage immunity, and resistance V makes you immune to all vanilla methods of receiving damage

I think that having some restrictions as to how armor works is good for the game, because it forces players to learn the mechanics of enchanting, however convoluted they may be. I consider myself a pretty veteran player, and even I didn't know until a few months ago that if you had one piece of specialized protection along with a set of normal protection IV it would act as if you had a full set of specialized protection.
I do think that maybe there should be a few more enchants, the newest one is Chopping for the Axe, maybe we can get "Lifesteal" for the sword, where every time you attack a mob you can have a certain chance of getting one health point back or something, but the caveat is that if you hold it and a mob attacks you, they can have a chance to steal your health too.
I have personally thought of a melee enchantment I call "Revenge" - damage you're receiving is stored and then dealt in your next hit, meaning that you're rewarded for receiving damage, so high risk high reward.
I've thought of another enchantment. "freeze". A mob can be stopped in place for 2-10 seconds (depending on the level, which can go up to V) but it only works on one mob at a time.

I think any long-term project addition in Minecraft is good. It would be really cool to have on my 1000+ day hardcore world. But imagine how broken this would be in multiplayer combat, your only chance would be entity cramming.

I was a brand new Minecraft player during 1.14 - I had god armor. I remember spending a lot of time figuring out which books to combine and then lots of trial and error getting them onto my armor. How cool! I also remember when the next patch came out and I died and went back to recreate my god armor, I wasn't able to.

For yall wondering, yes this bug (multiple of the same enchantment) still actually exists on the Wii U side of things. It probably still exists on all legacy editions. Though, I'm pretty sure that if you add the same enchantment but higher, it removes the second. (so lets say you have two protection III's on the same helmet. Add another protection book and you only get one enchantment on the helmet and the second enchantment disappears.)
On ps3 you can still enchant tridents with sword enchantments

I recall very soon after enchanting was added you could have all sorts of enchanted items. Pretty much anything could be enchanted but if it stacked with a like item it would strip the enchant. For this reason people would enchant a Smite 4 music disk and enjoy a tool without durability costs.
I still think we should be able to combine a chain mail or leather chest plate to an elytra for increased health and protection. Like those are unused armors and offer no real purpose so having an ability to combine them with en elytra would give them more purpose.
I would say only chainmeal but yeah good idea

I remember some kids at my school used to talk about "god armor" in Minecraft and how tricky it was to obtain. I didn't start regularly playing the game until 2016, so this was a pretty cool video to watch about it's history.
yeah Mojang needs to make more slightly grindy things for late game (after the ender dragon or wither) like a full beacon for example you can do it if your in the early stages but if you want haste 2 then you have to show dedication.
a beacon is really ez just kill a wither/ have an iron farm (even a 3 villager 1 zombie is enough) and ez beacon

Oh yeah, I was playing on my single player world just around the time when 1.14 dropped and god armor was obtainable. I rushed to get it because I had a strong feeling that Mojang would revert that change
you can also get axes with fire aspect and knockback,looting.also you could put fortune on armor and stuff like that(in 1.14.2)

Go check out ph1lza. He knew about the bug and made sure to make a set of armor before the update. He is on year 4 I think of this HC world. He may have retired it, I remember him talking about how it felt too cheaty even in hardcore.
It would trivialize the game even more than Mojang already has.

Ok hear me out. Giants spawn in structures. You kill them and obtain giant flesh. Which is used in a smithing table, to upgrade armour to limit broken armour. Which allows the other enchants on it

I was messing around in MC to explore the new updates and decided to max enchant a sword. Turns out you can Put other Enchants meant for other tools into other stuff (I.E, Tridents enchants on a pickaxe.)
Now I have a Efficiency 5 Netherite sword and a God Netherite Hoe.

Philza has it in his Season 4 world. I got it in mine and still have it.
Considering we now have totems I'm gonna most likely start using proj protection to make up for the lack of a shield, since at the point most other threats are redundant if you have knockback/ good at keeping melee mobs back
Gotta love the way effectively every previous version of Minecraft is still openly available making glitches or exploits like this still obtainable, even better those versions can still be updated retaining their uniqueness (hell there's even a thing you can do on PC where you can overwrite your up to date world's Nether with a previous version's and it will even carry over Items you placed in Chests, found this out from a channel named Kolanni who also carried over a Water Filled Nether into a different world on the current version).

i remember i had an old world in console edition where i had weapons and general gear that had every single enchant on them, and in general the world had so much history to it, from builds to memories it was definitely a joyride for the 2+ years i used it, sadly my playstation that had it was a launch date playstation 4, and it got fried somehow
I used to have such armor on a server. Considered it to be a glitch and kept in my ender chest. Waited some time and changed it to Netherite God Armor. I was afraid that that process will remove the godlike enchants but it kept them

9:00 is a little misleading for people who don't understand the EPF system. there are good videos on it, but basically, protection 4 = 4 epf in all categories and the unique protection 4s = 8 epf in the one category, and feather falling 4 = 12 epf. so you'd get 4 + 8 = 12 in all categories but 4 + 12 = 16 in feather falling from one piece of god armor. therefore, you do need two pieces of god armor to max out all categories. with two pieces it becomes feather 16 + 4 = 20 and all prots 12 + 12 = 24. with 20 being the cap you have 4 unused points. just for information's sake i'll add the 3 pieces and 4 pieces info. feather 20 + 4 = 24 + 4 = 28. all prots 24 + 12 = 36 + 12 = 48.
you can also look at it like this to simplify it:
god helmet = 12 in prots and 4 in fall damage
god chestplate = 12 in prots and 4 in fall damage
god leggings = 12 in prots and 4 in fall damage
god boots = 12 in prots and 16 in fall damage
any combination is fine but you can get the max 20 points with god boots and one other god armor. or you can have god boots and two other regulars with prot 4 which also maxes them out but you never get 40 epf in one category with god boots alone.

With the new updates coming and new mobs, I believe God Armor should still be in the game. Restricting the enchants on armor and added protections is making it harder to get new people to play as they don't want death to be their future in minecraft. It adds that goal to work towards. I have seen so many people new to minecraft quit because they have seen videos of this god armor and find out that it can't be gotten anymore in the new versions. I have tried explaining that if that is what they wish to have, then play the older version or use a mod. Yes God Armor should still be in game. Long term goals are great to have.
God armor would be great against warden.
The truth is. GOD ARMOR exists in Minecraft new versions. However, you can not obtain them by using enchanting table but by searching chests in the Mansions specially in a hidden room under an oak tree.

I came from future, i tested god armor on warden, and its like having a normal armoe prot 4, he kills you on 3 hits.
Its crazy how this was possible and how rare it was to obtain it since it got removed which sucks
I still have a few sets of god armour and god armour villagers in one of my older worlds. It was a server where someone begged me to make the set up before the bug went away... I thought it was cheaty, so my set went in a chest. We eventually updated the world to include the patch to remove the bug, but the old gear and such stayed. The world still works in 1.18. Note, the server is no longer active, but I was given a singleplayer version of it when our server went down (pre nether update.)
yeah 6 years ago, God armor was such a big thing, I made tons of god armor, unfortunately, made in creative lol, it's sad you can't even add most of the enchantments now, thanks to the bedrock update on Xbox and PS4/PS5. Great video!

I remember putting all kinds of enchantments on armor and swords in my creative mode world I just messed around in. Sharpness and smite and bane of arthropods, all the protections, and all that good stuff. Then I when I tried it again a while later and it didn’t work, and I thought I was crazy.

I do remember as enchants were first added there was also a way to get all the enchants u want on anything u want. It was some time ago. Also i used to spawn items witch enchant on absurd lvl like 99999. And i was totally immune to anything, mobs touched with my sword wuld die instantly, burn, and "teleport" somwhere from knockback... So this EPF thingy was certainly not a thing back then.

in my hardcoer world i have some. i remember when teh snapshot was out, i grabbed all my enchanted books, upgraded to the snapshot and applied these enchantments. now it's on 1.18 and i still have these

5:44, Zombie piglins also have a similar bug. I have multiple helmets that have protection II twice and other glitched doubled enchants from my doughnut zombified piglin farm.

That's just a matter of opinion
To note is, that back then the 50 exp enchantments did result in higher enchantments than todays 30 exp enchantments, when the cap was lowered, many lvl V enchantments like power V became unobtainable, until the introduction of the anvil

I have something similar on Minecraft PsVita. That version was never updated past update aquatic. I have a trident with all the sword enchantments on it. Looting, fire aspect, sharpness, etc.
Tbh I only knew abt god armor due to Hermitcraft

ive found a mod that lets you use ever single enchantment on every armour peice, at the same time. you could have leggings with infinity, fire aspect, mending, prtection, blast protection, and more. it's pretty epic. also it removes the "too expensive" thing when using an anvil. it works with forge 1.19.2 (idk about 1.19.3)

i remember when using commands was possible in survival and you can still get the achievements. i thought ahead and i placed command blocks to ensure I'd still be able to use commands after the patch. its sadly on my Nintendo switch and its not letting me upload to realms where i can download it to my other consoles due to a export failure and its happening with all my worlds i try with

We need God Armor to be attainable by getting all achievements, killing all bosses three times, maxing out all possible gear, and through an insane amount of XP. Like maybe 300. That way, you have something in late game to truly flex, maybe if they added features like, hidden challenges at random you have to complete like ten. Such as trading with villages 500 times or braking bedrock. Something only committed players can do in mass. Making it a true challenge. They could also add to God armor elytra to a chest plate, and maybe even a backpack to boot. They should bring this back, maybe even amplify it’s ability!!!
honestly the following major update probably should be an enchantment update have every enchant (that makes sense) so that the max for everything is 5 or something like that or being able to add once conflicting enchants together + maybe some new enchantments as well and lock them behind obtaining some rare material or under lvl 50 enchantments

Yeah I very distinctly remember God armor and remember it being normal because I never really got that deep into enchantment until that happened, just by coincidence.
I wish we'd have something similar to the skeleton trap god armor where you have to dedicate quite some time (but preferably not years) to get some lucky armor
I personally want chest loot to contain armor pieces with conflicting enchantments, so you're rewarded more for exploring.

In the first few snapshots with anvils, there were no enchantment checks in anvils. This means that you could put any enchantment on any item or put conflicting enchants on one armor piece.

I remember before the god armor bug was removed, I would get every single max tier enchantment and I would put it on diamond armor and tools. It was good times.
I think I've heard of and seen god armor coming from end city chests. I distinctively remember finding a pair of prot 4 fire prot 4 diamond leggings in one.
A little comment on something you said towards the end of the video. Minecraft really does need more to do late-game. This is something that a lot of mods/modpacks do really well. Progression in Minecraft starts out relatively slow, punching wood, making stone tools, then after you build a starting base and obtain some iron progression speeds up a LOT. We need more to do than just gathering new types of resources, more mobs/bosses and more areas to explore, we need more content with actual substance. I think of modpacks like RL Craft and SkyFactory. It doesn't even have to be anything on the level of technicality or difficulty of modpacks like that. We need more real progression, more solidified goals and achievements besides "get this block" or "kill this monster". I want some more technical and satisfying things to do and create, I want items and resources to serve larger purposes, things that seem so far out of reach when starting out that take larger amounts of time to obtain that exist to provide meaningful uses and utility to the player. It feels like the only real late-game things to do are technical largescale redstone contraptions, impressive bases and structures or meticulous, monumental sculptures, artwork and things of that manner.

This is why fishing is sometimes good. you don't need to spend the points of experience to get some of these books, less consistent but it helps for short term, and beginning stage. There are some AFK fishing you could do also.
