BTW, the sky box in Quake 1 (showing the clouds sucking into or out of itself) used to scare me when I was a kid. Even now, I still think it looks somewhat creepy. lol
I actually made the sky Orange in my upcoming HD Mod-Pack called QuaHD. If you know about Quake Epsilon, you will know the deal. I chose Orange because I watched footage of Quake 64 and was instantly in love with the Orange sky it had.
It’s the textures being stretched out or scrolling a harsh angles, in this case is where the bottom and top sky box meet but you’d never see that in game. It always looked like glass refracting to me.
god this is an ancient video. i remember it from the Before Years, eons ago... Back then quake was a new concept. I remember late weekend nights staying up while my parents were playing pool and i was busy watching quake, learning, reading, absorbing all i could. it feels like a memory more distant than my own birth...
This is gold. Quake is gonna be the 1st FPS my boy plays when he is of age. Passing the joy to the next Generation. Good times. Thanks to Quake, my bros and I use Quake Mobs/domain names for our Usernames(Netfiend,ComShambler,GovKnight, etc.). Its just that great.
For everyone who's asking: This music track/song is a bass remix of the classical piece called "Montagues and Capulets" AKA: "Dance of the Knights" by Sergei Prokofiev from Act I, Scene 2 of the ballet Romeo and Juliet.
@@systemx9917 Dude I've been looking and have downloaded many remixes in the years. I've never found this one, never heard it without the video and background effects
armies of Quake has begin it's approach, again the strength of Shub-Niggurath's thousand of foul creatures oppose my will, must I destroy those to never see the light of day, I must preserve my slumber, her armies can be poisoned, thier strength will be broken, her destiney, I must shatter, be brave bold Ranger, use your arsenal, and keep Shub-Niggurath's army astray
I really have to disagree with you one that one, its not necessarily the innovations that make a game good, I played it when it was new and I play it off and through the years, the gameplay is still outstanding, it has hardcore gameplay, trying to beat this game on nightmare is one of the most difficult things Ive every had to do in a game, and you can customize this shit out of this game with mods. Still way up there on the good game list in my book. Why better then fucking MW2 Im sure of that.
Here in 2021. This is like in Quake 2, where in the previous map right before the final boss map, they show you the Makron, but when you start walking close to it, he beams up. But that was near the end of game. This one begins the entire game.
Wait a minute , this looks almost real except the fact that the Ranger figure out about The Black Goat with a Thousand Young between episode 2 and episode 3.
@esh325 You're kind of right, but it's a matter of opinion. I would agree that while Quake changed videogames technologically, and Half-Life changed how a game could be all-around, in story, characters, depth, etc. Also, remember that Team Fortress was originally Quake mod, then a Half-Life mod, and now a full-fledged game using the Source engine.
My eyes twitched when seeing all of those monsters enter those portals. Why not just lob in a huge bomb and then make the Quake missions a whole hell of a lot easier? A column of Shamblers? Forget it.
Actually, even by todays standards this game is pretty hard and intense, the multi-player was one of the best, and in my opinion still cant really compare to some games today. Just because the graphics arent up to par doesnt mean its not as good or better.
"What the heck" - Quake Ranger, 2008
@SteveMatheus I know, but thanks
Yes
Yeah
Darude Sandstorm

I thought this was red cabbage '-'
That's the point. It's supposed to make you feel uneasy.

Quake is an endless gift that keeps giving
Well it's called Quake Eternal for a reason
apparently so
That's really cool. I never really actually thought what the beginning would look like, but this painted it pretty well in my head.
She's restocking.
Quake Dude's looks like cosplaying Revenant
Just reminded me that the first time I played Doom, I thought that the revenant was wearing red pants.

Прошло столько лет, а я все ещё влюблен в Q1...
Prokofiev - Dance of the Knights
¿WHAT VERSIÓN?
is good intro. 10/10 would get introduced to quake again.
Even if it's a fake, it's convincing enough :p

Oh muchas gracias, después de una década del comentario que has subido
even a shambler loves a tasty bit of classical music, perfectly in time with that prokofiev
0:30 gotta love the shamblers walking on beat with the music
😂

Да, это именно то что я чувствую, проходя квейк 1 снова и снова..
and the vores or scrags?? where are them??
This is the intro to "Quake Done Chopped"
Then there comes one Quad Damage Ranger who bunny jumps in molten lava killing and gibbing everyone in his path.
That's the soundtrack to Caligula. Nice.
This aged like a fine wine

Jokamania i beat nightmare mode at age 9 x-x
The funny thing is that's not even 1/10th of all the monsters in quake..
Wow, this would actually have been the perfect intro for Quake 1 imo.
Cutscene from Warcraft 3 be like

This reminds me of the XBOX exclusive Serious Sam intro.
me and the boys off to take over the dimension of the damned
the reason why i started playing Quake
ay wsg g
everything is possible with winquake
I remember when I was little playing quake 1. But when Quake 2 came out it was all over. Quake 2 was by far the best,
Я если честно все ещё не понимаю почему. Quake 2 жутко медленный...
@esh325 HL1 wouldn't exist without Quake, it runs on Quake engine derivative.
I remember watching this 3-4 years ago.
The music in this is so epic, I like it
honestly once the shamblers left ranger probably couldve taken em all on
Wait a minute , this looks almost real except the fact that the Ranger figure out about
The Black Goat with a Thousand Young between episode 2 and episode 3.
Here i go!
2020 and still loving this what a classic
Heh, this is nice. I wish Quake 1 had a "proper" intro like its successor. The classical music suits this quite well, actually.
Music so on point damn
Whos that name the music used in this video?
Prokofiev - Dance of the Knights if i'm not too late

Lol the Admiral Ackbar quote! 1:47
Certified hood classic
Music name?
@00vitality00 Quake 1 CD version does have an intro. It's a gameplay footage.
@natasboy666 quake II did a good job, hey whats this song called???
@OlafTorkland, one word to your Quake intro: EPIC!
Whats the name of the background music.
Dance of the Knights by Sergei Prokofiev
Darude Sandstorm
Even when this is fake, I can picture John Romero doing an intro like this while drunk.
whats the name of this song i would really like to know lol
what is the name of the song in the video?
Whoah...that army would make for a nice fight..
Looks like the shotgun of quake II @_@
I don't know, but what I know that this was an huge troll with him xD
So, the monsters walk into TV static?
Wonder how many hours ive spendt on that game. A real classic. :)
What is the name of this track? I heard is in Quake Champions and can't find the ost
Who else thought of Ackbar when he said "It's a trap!". lol
"Dance of the Knights"
@RikarduJ I think it was in Beauty and the Beast or somthing.
But MUSE used it in their HAARP concert.
Certainly a real classic, kinda hard too like most really old school games :) good times...
how is this Dance Of the Knights version?. i want it
What is the music? Its soudns pretty cool
quake 1 rocks
Quake was best fisrt person shooter before halos call of dutiys and others
but still have players in quake 3, quake live and quake champions
No Quake itself was a mediocre game, but its 3d engine was a blazon stone !
Can you release this .dem file for download?
There is no Intro in the new version.
This game was 12 years old 13 years ago
bring back memory
The Shamblers got some rhythm
2021- the place of evil
The funny thing is,he could have got to the final boss by rocket jumping up.
So the soldiers are with the undead the whole time
well yeah, they were corrupted/resurrected by Shubby all the same way
Darude Sandstorm
Ive always liked this one
MARCH, MY OOGLIES! TODAY WE DESTROY THE THIRD DIMENSION! MWAHAHAHA!!!
Que saudade!!!
@SirDude456 Prokofiev - Montagues and Capulets xD
it is a remix ;)
What's the remix used here?
Darude Sandstorm
Where's Alan Sugar?
@OlafTorkland That was so funny... but then I realized Captain was higher than Lieutenant and was like D:
is fake no intro in quake 1,in the game is normal
why would you respond to a 1 year old comment lol
"When its old comment it does not mean its dead and it should not get respond."
"Grammar very good you."
LOL
Hey i'm rolando tv, my brother makes me pranks, one of that pranks is this, sorry for the cringe

Tonight on the Apprentice
cool! sounds like Noisuf-X - Dance of the Knights... now i get where they got the rhythm
This fits very good because Quake should have been something different than Doom, BUT fucking John Carmark had to show he had the bigger balls.
Is the music the remix of the theme from Sanxion?
Prokofiev - Dance of the knights
restocking the levels lmao
Great ! Always thought Quake1 needed a sort of intro :)
march of the kinghts
Damn, this is Prokofiev (Romeo & Juliet) - one of the most sinister pieces ever made. It's sickening. Makes you run like hell without looking back :))
very good work man !
Это от куда такой раритет? Я не видел не одной версии первой кваки где есть подобное интро.
Intro from a machinima series
ohh ok.. This is pretty good
What is Quake 5 making you do that you don't want to do?
But seriously, we could do with a Q5.
dance of the knights :D I like the song...but I can't find the theme with the chorus :(
Actually, even by todays standards this game is pretty hard and intense, the multi-player was one of the best, and in my opinion still cant really compare to some games today. Just because the graphics arent up to par doesnt mean its not as good or better.
nicely done.
lol
nice one brings back memorys ^^
@Thedarksnw No, it doesn't. There are only recorded demos, just like in Doom. I have the original CD.
Good Idea
@esh325 Hadn't it been for Quake, Half-Life wouldn't exist. Just letting you know a little fact.
Underrated
