I read a few comments below saying this is 'basic' playing..
If you think that it's easy to play like this, you simply have not dedicated enough hours into playing this instrument to appreciate this stuff. To be able to say so much with so few notes is the epitome of a guitar player with mature phrasing. Maturity isn't something that can be rushed.
I hope I'll get somewhat closer to this level of sophistication in my playing in ten years or so but in the meantime, I'll continue to enjoy listening to and learning from players like Jack, Robben Ford and many others.

"I fear not the man who practiced 10.000 kicks one time, but the man who practiced one kick 10.000 times." - Bruce Lee
It might be 'basic' in a technical sense, but it shows a level of mastery over those basics that few can truly match. It's an excellent showcase of how much can be done once you get just the fundamentals down. Besides, it's not like he's playing progressive rock, right?

You absolutely hit the nail on the head when you said “searching for unforgettable lines, one note at a time.” That encapsulates it perfectly. For some, it’s about robotically showing off while playing fast etc.. or thinking that all that “feel” is somehow linked to hours and years of practicing, but the best players; it’s their organic connection to what they’re playing, expression, it moves them and moves us at the same time, it’s what special about those players. It’s something I’ve noticed playing drums behind a lot of guitar players over the years. Less is more. Great channel man 👏

You should check out this Italian "kid" Matteo Mancuso. His speed, accuracy and feel is incredible as is his unique fingerstyle technique. He's not really a blues guy but his jazz work is impressive.

Michael, you are the man! OMG Jack is awesome! Why in the world have I not found your channel before? I’ve found it now and so glad I did. I’m in transition but can’t wait to get back to my guitar and start learning and applying what you’re teaching. Thank you! Keep it up. Breathtakingly sweet. Such a fine touch and feel. Impeccable timing and soulful phrasing that gracefully penetrates deep into the heart.
Jack's sound is reminiscent of Denny Dias, Steely Dan vintage "Your Gold Teeth 2". Also puts me in the mind of Steve Kahn's work on My Rival (Gaucho).
racerx3065's Derek Trucks comment is a very nice analogy too.
Glad I found this channel. Thanks Michael.

Oddly enough, this reminds me of David Gilmour. I don’t have the musical education to explain in technical terms. But it’s the feel, the progression building up throughout, not a wasted or flashy note all constructing an intricate foundation without the need for a outsized cliche at the finish. Each note matters and is allowed it’s time in the spotlight.
    Delightful.

Yeah Gilmore is another master that people often under appreciate or simply don’t recognize how good he is at what he does. He’s a very musical player and doesn’t put a single nite out of place in any of his songs everything is placed in the best possible way as if someone fed the basic foundation of the song through a machine that comes up with the best possible scenarios with the notes given. Kind of like the chess machine AI they have that predicts the best move from a given match

Thanks Michael for alerting me to this wonderful guitarist who until now I'd never heard of. The hairs on my neck started pricking up as soon as that minor to major change came in and it blew me away. Awesome. I love guitar players who aren't in it for the number of notes they can fit into a beat, but instead play what's required, when required, awesomely.
