I test rode a Super Chief Limited at Elkhart Indian Motorcycle Demo Days! My new Favorite bike!

I ordered the Super Chief Limited in black. I plan to run it without windshield and bags mostly, and it looks amazing without them. Those beer can front forks, fat front tire, and spoked wheels look absolutely beautiful 👍 Bags and windshield on for long weekend trips, though I'll need the tall one as the mid buffets my helmet (I'm 6'5"). This bike rocks!

I absolutely love my Indian Super Chief! The windshield does a great job. I'm 5'10" and wearing a helmet I get little buffeting. It's a neat nimble bike! I'm about to install the Stage 1 intake and just installed Dean Speed Custom Rampage Exhaust! It's perfect for me! Cylinder deactivation works pretty well and I do notice it being somewhat cooler on stop-and-go traffic in Chicago. I have also raised the bars, which solved the problem of the longer distance.

Was wondering when you said you raised the handle bars for comfort, did you find the bars were too low for maximum comfort because of your height of 5'10". I'm 5'8".

@@erolyalim2911 I raised mine up for more of my riding position. Though manageable at the original delivery adjustment, I am more used to semi aggressive position, hands higher, in between upright and leaning forward.

I'm going to check out the Super Chief Limited this weekend. Have you been satisfied with the single disk brake up front? And have you ridden it two-up? How's the passenger comfort? I like the bike overall.. from what I've seen in my online research, but I question why Indian went with a single disk up front.. and only a 4 gallon tank.

@@randomstuffwithjoe I haven't ridden 2 up but I think it was TwoDigbys channel did. They liked it. I ordered a sissy bar for when I do 2 up. Front disc and rear do just fine. Plus ABS does help. Comment back to let me know what you think 👍

I like the vintage fender can it be added at least to the front?

I love the look of this bike, but it has a lot of issues. The rear travel is only 3in compared to the 4in travel on the HD Heritage Classic, which is the closest comparable bike in the HD lineup. The HD also comes with locking saddle bags and a 5 gal tank. The chief I rode didn't like navigating turns at speed. I felt like I had to fight it because it always wanted to stand up on me, but that could be a tire issue I suppose. This is the first model year for the Super Chief, I think I'll wait for Indian to refine some of the rough edges and see what the '23 or '24 bring to the table.

Honestly they need to have the option of the TFT display on all the Chief bikes not just dark horse or limited!

Was there any excessive heat coming from the air-cooled engine? Did you notice any engine vibration. Also did the 3 inch rear suspension travel give you any issues over bumpy roads?

I love this bike, i had my eye on the harley ST and now this is the bike, what a look that motor is just a god sent design. I will have boxes no bags. I can drive 100 miles and then i have to go get a piss, or abreak. Dont get them you kids.

I've got one of these and it's absolutely sick.
    Love it to death.
The air cooled engine does get a touch toasty at stop lights but it's not the worst in the world.
Got a 24" slim side sissy bar so I can keep my bags and add extra storage or fuel cans.
    6'4 and it's very comfortable.

I'm 6'5 and found it a little tight on a test ride. Ordered one anyway because I love the bike, and ordered a factory "long reach" saddle for the tall guys, which I'm hoping helps a bit.

My wife can handle our 2018 Roadmaster with no problem. Indian has done their home work.

The reason you need a range of more than 120 miles is because if you have a full tank and ride out of town to see the countryside or to visit somebody on a 30-mile trip, you come back with 1/2 a tank. So, suppose you want to do another one like that. That means a trip to the gas station, and for what? for a 30-mile trip.
