My opinion is, that an OTF is (especially double action) an great edc for "usual cutting things" but not a heavy user - and sorry for my English... love my deadlock - and i use it of course-and it makes me angry if i see people touching knives with gloves - at the end of the day its still a tool in my eyes
great video! Point of interest though, I don't think the changes are just Model A vs Model B. I think Gavin changes a little bit on every batch or every couple batches. I just got a batch 9, and it is slightly different than yours. It has the same pieces in the blade, but the cone pin is bigger in diameter and has three holes as opposed to two slots like in yours.
According to Gavin Hawk, the lock mechanism pieces in the blade. DO BE CAREFUL to not over apply lube. Any extra drag on these parts can overcome the tension of the spring in the spring hook and the lock mechanism may not fully engage. I personally prefer to keep my knife completely dry inside as the parts don't seem to actually wear against each other that much in my opinion. I prefer rock solid lock up every time.
Great video!!! ? When I point my deadlock towards the ground and activate it then try to retract the blade while keeping the handle pointed downward, the blade doesn’t want to retract back into the handle.... have you had any issues like this with yours?
I'm pretty sure they don't sell blades. Seems many who buy the double edged blades sell them. Rarely see single edge bladed Deadlocks on the newsletter for resale
Subscribed, I liked your video. The only improvement I advise is to try to better frame the camera in what you are showing, in several moments what you were trying to show was off the screen. A request that I'm hardly going to accept but I don't blame you is that I wanted to see the inside of Deadlock, maybe next time you're cleaning it. I would like to make a 3D model of this knife, but I need as much detail as possible from it. I'm learning English but I think it's possible to understand what I said.
Just got my batch 9, love it. Incredible quality.
Yessir, you really can't go wrong with one of these. I use the heck out of mine!
Thanks for saving me when my deadlock came back with new internals!
Let’s see a nail test like they do with the Microtech.
Lol, I'm into using but not abusing my knives.

Interesting and you are likely correct. Thanks for sharing!
Hello Ben, very interesting video. I have a question : wich part of the knife needs lubricant because a tube of lube comes with the knife ?

Never have had any mechanical issues no matter how it's opened or closed. I would contact Gavin
Great helpful video, Awaiting my 2021 drop. Was that gunsmith Jim Clark? if so... legend.
No, different guy. You'll love your Deadlock! I hope they come out with some more in all titanium again soon.

Why would you want a single blade Deadlock SMH
Maybe good to invest some time too in how to set a fixed focus on your camera.
Not that big a deal, guy. Upload your own shit if it matters so much to you.
I wonder if you could easily replicate a similar mechanism in an otf you already have
👍👊
DO THE NAIL TEST
Bad ratio blade to handle. Definitely not for me.
