    Hey Alice,
    I don’t usually leave comments under people’s channel but I must say your content is gems. I watched many videos of yours in a row because it was so insightful.
    Also your skin is all I need for me to even listen to you because I could tell your skin is very much working with the products you’re trying or using.
    I would love to see more Korean skin care video that’s more focus on fragrance free products for sensitive skin & real products that genuinely long terms helps keeping that youth/plump look that Korean/asians people have 😍
    Thank you for taking your time and sharing with us. ❤️
    I put out content & your videos have encouraged me to maybe upload my skin care once I try this new Korean skin care routine 🫵🏽

      I tried this too but it unfortunately didn't work for me. I have way better luck with dotting the tret directly on my face and then rubbing in. I put a pearl sized amount on my finger, then dot the product on both cheeks, forehead, nose and chin. The first method actually lessens the spread for me! By the time I get to my forehead after doing my cheeks, I don't have enough product on my fingers and end up using more. This then makes it more difficult to rub in somehow 😅

    I'm one of those people who had a reaction with the Anua toner. I used to think that my skin love it cause when I first start using retinoids, it really does calm my inflamed skin but leaves my skin with closed comedones. I realized that when I changed into the Abib heartleaf toner and my skin got better.

    My insurance approved me for tret for my acne so I switched to that from adapalene and that's been an interesting change. The tret is definitely more sensitive to what products I pair with it when I apply. I'll have totally different results the next day based on what serums and moisturizers I use. I get more peeling with bifida FL products but no peeling with lipid gold and Alpyn Beauty moisturizer. The nerd in me is really enjoying testing it with my faves!
    Also, I had to pause at "moisturizer so rich it got into college on a bribe" because I choked laughing. I love how often that happens when I watch your videos!

    "THERE ARE DOZENS OF US!" 😂 😂
    I love it. I will say, I've been watching you for years, and in truth, you're *probably* my #1 UA-cam/IG/Social Media skincare influencer/person.
    So, while I have stayed due to your loverly personality, (palpable kindness, not a hint of arrogance nor fakeness, GREAT sense of humor, etc.), I first found you because you were the only YT person I'd come across at that time who shared my very weird (nowadays I like to call it "niche") skincare type.
    So yes- I feel you. I actually have a large-ish bottle of the EL Advanced Night Repair, and I like it a lot, (I can tell that it helps with hydration, calming and healing). But when this bottle is done, I'm going to try your favorite Manyo Bifida Biome (sp?) serum.
    Oh I see you got a Lipid Gold in the new packaging! I got mine a few weeks ago....rn I'm almost done with my second bottle of Interface, so I'm excited about finally getting the new packaging (and from what Ally's said, slightly new formula as well!)

    • @AliceintheRabbitHole
      @AliceintheRabbitHole  8 місяців тому +1

      Aww thank you so much for the kind words 🥹🥹 haha yes, it’s a niche skin type - I love that lol
      I have the new interface as well but still working through my second bottle. Do you do the egg method? I still love that application; it’s bizarrely fun (and effective!)

    Eye cream is not a scam. Lip products are not a scam. I often use a little eye cream around the outside of my lips. Once a week I work my retinol around my lips. I don’t have acne. I do get ingrown hairs. I have to treat some areas of my face the same way. I do tend to get dehydrated and I have to baby my retinol application.

    • @AliceintheRabbitHole

    I bought, but haven’t yet tried, the Anua toner. After your comments, I’m going to be extra cautious. I have, use, and enjoy the bifida ampoule. I liked and used up the Byoma cream. It didn’t cause any issues (except with the pump), but I didn’t repurchase it despite the ingredients list being so good. It didn’t wow me. Everything else contains something my skin won’t tolerate. My skin is so reactive that the only skincare product I can use on consecutive days is cleanser. I have to alternate routines during the week and do my version of a spa routine once a week (with different products than are used for the rest of the week). BTW, pearls come in all different sizes, too.

    • @AliceintheRabbitHole
      @AliceintheRabbitHole  8 місяців тому

      Yeah, plant extracts are soooo tricky. They contain much “more” than the plant on a molecular level, and it’s hard to predict with extracts as the method of extraction influences the final composition. Meaning: you could be getting all these really great calming ingredients (for example, the “cica actives”), underrated compounds (like ginsenosides!), but…you could also get allergens? Maybe?? So hard to know 🥺

    Prior to you introducing me to the Manyo Bifida Biome Complex Ampule, I had tried four or five other bifida products. I love it and I have backups. My mature, dry/dehydrated skin, made more sensitive by rosacea, does very well with bifida, but the Manyo does a little more for me.

    I have never heard of Lion Pair Acne Cream before, or that type of product. How cool. Leave-on benzoyl peroxide as a spot treatment isn't very ideal, since it can "bleach" shit, but also it doesn't blend into skin colour super well (I have a tinted one, but even still).
    This stuff looks super interesting. It's clear, and looks like it won't dry the absolute shit out of whatever skin it's touching. I'm excited about this one!

That eye cream looks so lux - I can't wait to get it. Stratia liquid gold is another product on my list - looks interesting. I like your technique with getting the Adapalene evenly on your fingers to disperse evenly over your face - I am a "scooper" and then slap on dabs and then blend and massage. oooooo - that Byoma moisturizer - is a must try for me! I have old, normal pretty hardy skin. I wanted to add tret after using an ordinary one for a number of years. My dermatologist said it’s really expensive you should use differin! Use it on dry skin. Of course I really didn’t read the directions and instead of using a pea/pearl size I used the amount that toothpaste commercials use of toothpaste! It only bothered my collarbone (that was in the beginning). I do not have acne but I do have this tiny blackhead that just won’t go away! Sigh. I’ve been regularly on the Differin since last Oct (I got covid and went off it for a week but had only used it about 6 months prior. I usually start with it let it sit for 10 min, use 2 toners then use azelaic + tranexamic acid, then go into my toners, peptides, moisturizers. In the am I swap vit c for the Differin and add a stress serum and caffeinated eye cream…. I wonder if I should do my routine, let my skin dry then do the Differin then moisturizer? Hmm I might have to try that. I do take 2 nights off a week where I use my exfoliators and geek and gorgeous retinol instead of the Differin….. I do everything on the back of my hands (they love it) and it’s easier to see the azelaic + tranexamic acids do their magic. My hands also love my vit c! I’ve had someone tell me she started checking out my hands to figure out my age cause the story I was telling placed me at being in my late 60’s but my hands place me in my early 50’s!! Hahaha

    Thank you so much for this video. I’ve been told I have dehydrated skin. I’m 36. I also don’t struggle much with acne but I do get it around my mouth area. Would these products still be something you recommend?

    • @AliceintheRabbitHole
      @AliceintheRabbitHole  8 місяців тому

      Yes adapalene in particular. Make sure the rest of your routine focuses on hydration (toner and essence options abound here) and calming/soothing, and I highly recommend the sandwich method I did here. Light moisturizer-wait a few min-adapalene-wait a few min-heavy moisturizer. HTH!

    I'm using a very similar routine. I bought the RNW 4-terpineol serum based on your recommendation, but I'm not sure when and where to incorporate this into my routine. Do you use this only occasionally, or do you layer it with the manyo serum?

    • @AliceintheRabbitHole

      Occasionally! I use it when pimples are coming in through the healing process ☺️

    Ive started using a Benzoyl Peroxide cleanser since thats what i finally could tolerate, learning from your videos (like finally, i could actually use BP) - but i was wary with using it with antioxidant due to BP's 'pro-oxidant' properties (please correct me if im wrong), so i havent used it with antioxidant products or with fermented ingredients. Should that even be a consideration or i could just use anything soothing and non-potent/non-irritating with BP ?

    • @AliceintheRabbitHole
      @AliceintheRabbitHole  8 місяців тому +1

      You’re correct BUT the impact is going to be minimal. Think of it this way: it’s 4% in a wash-off formula. That’s enough to fight acne and yet have a very minimal impact on the rest of the routine.
      I think a lot of the concerns in skincare stem from thinking about the pure ingredient vs the ingredient in a formulation. Applying 100% benzoyl peroxide would be a very different story from what we are doing!

    what if u have acne prone skin and adapalene worked for you for years but then suddenly your skin can't tolerate any retinoid at all? I didn't know your skin can switch up overnight to what it does and doesn't tolerate anymore and I've been using adapalene daily for years. I went all the way down to retinal 0.05% after a break that lasted a month and my skin was still getting angry over it so sadly I have to give up on one of the best skincare ingredients. The moisturiser I've always used stopped working for me too, and started clogging my skin. My skin went from combination acne prone skin that responded well to retinoids and didn't have much clogging to very clog prone skin and inflammatory acne in places I've never had before like my cheeks and chin. It's truly horrible because I'm getting a lot of physical scarring from these pimples.

    • @kae2678
      @kae2678 7 місяців тому

      I switched to salicylic acid 2% twice a day and glycolic acid 7% every other day and it helps with clogging a bit but not fully. I don't have sensitive skin in terms of any redness or stinging after using a product. I've ordered Pair acne cream in hopes of tackling the inflammation 🙏

    Does anyone else actually gently pat and VERY gently massage their products in like Alice shows in this video?
    I feel like I'm the only one who doesn't! I can't pat in most of my products; especially my retinoids (adapalene and tret) nor gently massage it, because it doesn't spread and doesn't actually absorb/settle onto my skin. It's just there.
    Am I doing my skincare wrong? 😭

    That cleanser is one on the Benzine list girl 😮
    I really need to try the lion pair cream . I been using the Egg 🥚 every night for the past month especially sense I'm trying retinal again using the Medik8 so far so good 1 month in and 1 day a week but it's like the low 1 strength and I'm working up to 2 days a week. I'm not making the mistake of sensitizing my skin again. I have never even been able to get through a month with any retinoid products. I'm also sandwiching 😂

    • @AliceintheRabbitHole
      @AliceintheRabbitHole  8 місяців тому +3

      Lab Muffin put out a great video on Valisure! And that’s a good way to start a retinoid. I had results at once a week with adapalene, which is kind of a wild thought - but I guess it goes to show how strong retinoids are!
