It's lovely to hear you enjoyed your special anniversary trip to England. You spoke with such sincerity and heartfelt warmth about the people and the places you visited which was nice and also interesting to hear the reasons why you went to certain places. The picture of you looking over the moors, evoking your childhood dreams, is stunning!! The beginning of May is a lovely time to visit, tourism not yet in full swing, the countryside blossoming, wild flowers like the bluebells are flowering, just hope the weather was kind. Your packing was a great idea and would love to know what you bought back for the grandchildren.
+Jan z Jan, it was magical. It truly was. I really tried to live in the moment and take it all in, if that makes sense. I didn't want the events to pass me by in a haze. The weather was absolutely gorgeous. But Doug and I are always so lucky that we bring good weather with us when we travel. I have five granddaughters and two little grandsons. For the boys, British ambulance, taxi, double decker bus, tee shirts, some "slime" stuff, a pen that writes in several different colors, a little pinball machine, books, sticker books. For the girls, lots of books, Harry Potter things when we went on our studio tour, cross necklaces from Westminster Abbey, miniature jewelry boxes, some pens, notebooks, and more things that I can't think of offhand. It was a suitcase full! lol. Mostly lots of books because their parents like for me to do that. For my daughter a metal frog that sits on her front porch. My son in law a wool scarf from the Bronte parsonage. My daughter in law is Chinese so I found some beautiful chopsticks in a gorgeous case for her. My son and daughter had to grow up listening to Beatles music so I got my son a tee shirt from Abbey Road and my daughter a tote from there. Lots of love! Melissa

oh, thoroughly enjoyed this video. My hubby is from Wales, small country under England and on one of our trips to his hometown we carved out time to take the train into London. I fell in love, we only spent the day but he managed to take me to to see a lot, Buckingham Palace, and we got to see the changing of the guards, we did the eye, Big Ben, Parliament Sq., Harrods, ate a pub lunch near picadilly, had tea near Harrods, and had a Chinese dinner in Chinatown, I could on and on...it was spectacular....it's been 7 years and hopefully one day we'll be back....I loved the inserted photos. 💞💞💞

It was glorious but I have always wanted to visit England and the UK.... your vlog brought tears to my eyes just seeing how much you enjoyed it and loved everything you did and the people.....that is really the best part of traveling. seeing that people are very much the same and are just going about their lives like we do....but the history there and I have always wanted to check out Jane Austen sites and I hadn't thought of the Bronte's, so that goes on my bucket list too!!! Melissa... Luv your "Mind The Gap" pins lol and..... Because my hubby is always traveling to London (his daughter lives there-I often tag along) Abbey Road was one of my first "Have to Do Before I Die" things.... I don't think most people realize how many locals live in the area and how busy and you literally take your life in your hands to take those darn pics!!!!! Lol. I actually met a Producer of The Live at Abbey Road series outside and he took us INsIDE (which is closed to the public) and warned we couldn't go very far...... But we did see where the Beatles actually recorded and some of the actual equipment!!! Cool.... Very very cool !!!!!! And..... I NEVER check a bag..... You gotta take your stuff with you (until u r ready to fly home) sun you did it right!!! ❤️❤️❤️

I went to visit my aunt who lived just outside of London by myself one year. Of course I brought a huge suitcase. I got on the train no problem, but I knew when I arrived in St Albans I was going to have to take it up a flight of stairs. I had no idea how I was going to make it. As we approached the station I looked around and there was a young couple, and me. That was it. So I looked at the young man and said "I will give you a million dollars if you would please help me get my suitcase up the stairs"! Ha ha He was so sweet, and obliged. I understand the hassles of trying to travel with lots of luggage. Lol. So glad you enjoyed your visit to my homeland! It is a beautiful country. Love you

It must be hard to cart around a large piece of luggage. Better to travel home with the big suitcase full of goodies. That's fantastic meeting friends in England. I would like to go to Liverpool also. I'm so happy you got to see the moors. I adore the book & the movie Wuthering Heights. I want to walk on the Scottish moors among the heather. I've read many books by D. E. Stephenson who was a Scottish author. The books took place during the 1930's. The stories were about small little Scottish villages. I fell in love with Scotland through those books. When I read the books I'd have a cup of tea & some Walker shortbread. I'd also want to go to Carnaby Street. That was another important place I always saw in magazines. I think of the designer Mary Quant & the model Twiggy & Jean Shrimpton. I really enjoyed this video. I can see & hear how much this trip meant to you. I'll probably never get to England but at least I can see pictures & hear about it from people on YT. It's lovely to hear you enjoyed your special anniversary trip to England. You spoke with such sincerity and heartfelt warmth about the people and the places you visited which was nice and also interesting to hear the reasons why you went to certain places. The picture of you looking over the moors, evoking your childhood dreams, is stunning!! The beginning of May is a lovely time to visit, tourism not yet in full swing, the countryside blossoming, wild flowers like the bluebells are flowering, just hope the weather was kind. Your packing was a great idea and would love to know what you bought back for the grandchildren.
+Jan z Jan, it was magical. It truly was. I really tried to live in the moment and take it all in, if that makes sense. I didn't want the events to pass me by in a haze. The weather was absolutely gorgeous. But Doug and I are always so lucky that we bring good weather with us when we travel. I have five granddaughters and two little grandsons. For the boys, British ambulance, taxi, double decker bus, tee shirts, some "slime" stuff, a pen that writes in several different colors, a little pinball machine, books, sticker books. For the girls, lots of books, Harry Potter things when we went on our studio tour, cross necklaces from Westminster Abbey, miniature jewelry boxes, some pens, notebooks, and more things that I can't think of offhand. It was a suitcase full! lol. Mostly lots of books because their parents like for me to do that. For my daughter a metal frog that sits on her front porch. My son in law a wool scarf from the Bronte parsonage. My daughter in law is Chinese so I found some beautiful chopsticks in a gorgeous case for her. My son and daughter had to grow up listening to Beatles music so I got my son a tee shirt from Abbey Road and my daughter a tote from there. Lots of love! Melissa

oh, thoroughly enjoyed this video. My hubby is from Wales, small country under England and on one of our trips to his hometown we carved out time to take the train into London. I fell in love, we only spent the day but he managed to take me to to see a lot, Buckingham Palace, and we got to see the changing of the guards, we did the eye, Big Ben, Parliament Sq., Harrods, ate a pub lunch near picadilly, had tea near Harrods, and had a Chinese dinner in Chinatown, I could on and on...it was spectacular....it's been 7 years and hopefully one day we'll be back....I loved the inserted photos. 💞💞💞

Melissa... Luv your "Mind The Gap" pins lol and..... Because my hubby is always traveling to London (his daughter lives there-I often tag along) Abbey Road was one of my first "Have to Do Before I Die" things.... I don't think most people realize how many locals live in the area and how busy and you literally take your life in your hands to take those darn pics!!!!! Lol. I actually met a Producer of The Live at Abbey Road series outside and he took us INsIDE (which is closed to the public) and warned we couldn't go very far...... But we did see where the Beatles actually recorded and some of the actual equipment!!! Cool.... Very very cool !!!!!! And..... I NEVER check a bag..... You gotta take your stuff with you (until u r ready to fly home) sun you did it right!!! ❤️❤️❤️

I went to visit my aunt who lived just outside of London by myself one year. Of course I brought a huge suitcase. I got on the train no problem, but I knew when I arrived in St Albans I was going to have to take it up a flight of stairs. I had no idea how I was going to make it. As we approached the station I looked around and there was a young couple, and me. That was it. So I looked at the young man and said "I will give you a million dollars if you would please help me get my suitcase up the stairs"! Ha ha He was so sweet, and obliged. I understand the hassles of trying to travel with lots of luggage. Lol. So glad you enjoyed your visit to my homeland! It is a beautiful country. Love you

So glad you had a wonderful time on vacation. Shame about your dogwood tree, they're so beautiful. Happy 30th anniversary! A beautiful place to celebrate in. Good idea with the luggage. It must be hard to cart around a large piece of luggage. Better to travel home with the big suitcase full of goodies. That's fantastic meeting friends in England. You two are such beautiful ladies inside & out. That was very special & thanks for sharing it. Being at Abbey Road is a dream of mine also. I would have cried my eyes out, which I'm doing now. I would like to go to Liverpool also. I'm so happy you got to see the moors. I adore the book & the movie Wuthering Heights. I want to walk on the Scottish moors among the heather. I've read many books by D. E. Stephenson who was a Scottish author. The books took place during the 1930's. The stories were about small little Scottish villages. I fell in love with Scotland through those books. When I read the books I'd have a cup of tea & some Walker shortbread. I'd also want to go to Carnaby Street. That was another important place I always saw in magazines. I think of the designer Mary Quant & the model Twiggy & Jean Shrimpton. I really enjoyed this video. I can see & hear how much this trip meant to you. I'll probably never get to England but at least I can see pictures & hear about it from people on YT.
