Come on guys, Kratos has been through a lot. and the dlc was based on him finding reconciliation with himself. especially when at the end he saw his old self who was all rage and hate now Kratos is much stronger, smarter, and very experienced in battles therefore they begged him to be the general in the battle who else killed him Heimdal knew what he was doing....he was measuring the moves and the punches he was eating. that's why in the third phase he grabbed his right hand and ate the punch without even realizing that he was going to anticipate it, I was very happy that shot his ego and made him lose control. respect to the old State!!! power.. he has a lot to lose now for this son, friends...

I have almost 400 hours on gowr and am a beast at killing berserkers. Yet Tyr just gets me so damn nervous when I fought him each time. Once i passed the dlc for Valhalla i noticed how smooth and more relaxed i was at playing the game.
I think that when Tyr uses long weapons like a spear, you should use your short, faster and more flexible weapons to make the best use of Tyr's slowness due to using a large weapon and defeat him, but when Tyr use short and fast weapon, you should use your long and big weapon like a spear or hit him with arrow from a distance and keep your distance so that it cannot rotate quickly and hit you!
It would have been a cool minor detail if when Tyr uses his 'Blood for Blood' move he actually does like a tiny amount of damage to his own health bar sacrificing his blood for the attack.
It a very big contrast with Kratos. He isn't as rage filled as before, but Krafos still yells, fights loudly. Tyr is a gentler creature, but dangerous non the less. Even the most peaceful of folks, when provoked enough, will kick your a*s if they need to. Tyr keeps his cool always, because that's the way he is. He's a calmer, strategic type of war gos.
In the germanic version of the gods. It was thought to be Tyr as the most powerful god. Not Odin, and it was Tyr in power. The Germania was the country that actually invented the "Norse gods.", and the norse expanded upon them. So if they base it on that. It makes sense why Tyr is a much harder boss than Odin. Tyr is the rightful ruler.
If I remember right they say it in game or in a text somewhere. Apparently, Odin had to send an army of monsters and minor gods to capture him or leave him open long enough to get sneaked up on by Odin. The fact that Odin didn't send thor or came himself shows me that he was scared to face Tyr himself or lose his best asset at the time "thor"
After this story I'd be at peace if Kratos just retired happily in the Nine Realms helping rebuild them after Asgard falls. If anything the next game should be Atreus/Lokis adventures imo.

We know the next game is taking place in Egypt, but my knowledge of Egyptian mythology is lacking, so I don't know if there are ideal candidates for a protagonist in their pantheon or if they'll have to come up with someone entirely original.

It's an old Aztec weapon, and Kotal Kahn takes inspiration from the same era, hence Kotal's other name "Buluk" (Rain calls him this in the MKX story), and Tyr's weapon looking similar. I can't remember what the thing was called, but it's a war weapon nonetheless.
I like how tyr has a similar style to kratos in his weapons as he uses a shield, spear, a heavy weapon like the astek thing kinda like the axe, he uses 2 blades and also a sword object like the blade of Olympus if that's a thing in the game or a mod
The final Týr fight notwithstanding, I loved these SO much more than every encounter with Promised Consort Radahn combined! Valhalla feels just so much better than Shadow of the Erdtree!
I can't help that Tyr is preparing for an even greater danger/battle to come. And someone far more dangerous he may have encountered in his travels. Fans on here keep assuming Kratos will leave and visit other parts of the world. But he just pledged to stick around and help rebuild. They should also be getting closer to the modern era....and a strange new monotheistic religion appearing in the realms. One that Tyr is very familiar with.
I have a theory. So Tŷr obviously went through the door like he said. But I think it's because the Tŷr that Odin was playing as? That WAS Tŷr at some point, and what Odin remembers him as, a pacifist, abstaining from violence and only using it as a final resort. And after he went through Vahalla, the became the Tŷr we know now, and Odin through all his wisdom didn't see that.
All other greek artefacts except the blades of chaos which is more of a curse has no more magic in them because of the death of the gods. If anything, the golden fleece is the most broken item Kratos can have from the greek world. It parries almost anything and makes Kratos return twice the damage. It's like his Royalguard.
From that day forward throughout the rest of time wherever men found redemption, they were watched by kratos the God of war who became the God of Hope, peace, the new all father
At this point in Kratos' story, his immortality is gone. He says the line that he'll make due with "the time he has left", and he's still got the strength that lets him go toe to toe with gods in... arguably their prime, while Kratos is out of his. But even then, he's still gonna be around for awhile. :)
