THE LIMITED VERSION OF SUPERMAN that appeared in the 1986 Post -Crisis NEW EARTH comics was actually my favorite. Although I can appreciate the cosmic-level Superman, I very much like the one limited to Earth shown there. It only lasted a few years, but the idea that he is ONLY the most powerful man on the planet, not the galaxy or universe, making him "The WORLD'S Greatest Superhero" was very appealing. Rough estimates show that he could lift maybe a million tons, a billion if he flew with the object such as a small mountain. It would take him time to fly to the other side of the planet in about 30 seconds or so. His superspeed was limited to maybe Mach 10 "faster than a speeding bullet". Even though no conventional handheld weapon could hurt him, a nuclear explosion could send him flying hundreds of miles, being possibly stunned unconscious for a few minutes. However, his versatility with using and combining his powers was almost second to none, allowing him to take on beings several times more "powerful" than him. The most important thing I like about him was that he seemed to be the most relatable and HUMAN of all the versions. Actually born on Earth from a Kryptonian spaceship gestation matrix, and the Kent's and him thinking that he was just a mutant shot into space from another country as a sick experiment was good story telling. He, Johnathan, and Martha thought up the name and costume, and he had no idea that he was from another planet until after a FULL YEAR of him going public as Superman! Even though he appreciated his real Kryptonian parents sending him to Earth, and the powers gained thereby, it was the Earth that made him human, being just a "down-to-earth" Kansas farmboy at heart. That and his almost peerless morals and character made him the most renown and revered hero in the world! 🙂
ADDENDUM: To be specific, he was only able to fly several THOUSAND times the speed of sound, nowhere near lightspeed by his own admission. He could hold his breath for a LONG time (he actually had to breathe), take about 10 minutes to fly to the moon, kick the dust around on the surface for an hour, and fly back to Earth without him being tired much. Interplanetary travel on his own power was not even attempted until much later in the comics, and time travel was not even thought possible then. His flight and superspeed being different, he could catch bullets if he knew they were coming. His super-hearing was limited to his ears picking up sound only as fast as it could travel at Mach 1 to reach him. He could not really regenerate much at all, but he had complete healing, so a rare broken bone would heal completely without any handicap. Not to mention Kryptonite, magic, and other renown vulnerabilities that he naturally had. His powers were on a level somewhat comprehendible. I really liked that.
I remember the first time I realised Superman's strength was in Darkseid Of The Moon, See-And-Read Superpowers audiobook when I was about 8 or 9 years old... Darkseid basically tries to steal Earth's Moon... and Superman just flies in, and does a handstand on the Moon and simply pushes the Moon back into orbit.
In short outside multiversal beings that warp reality and have nigh omnipotent power, Superman is the ultimate superhero, which is what he is all about. Its all in the name... Superman
Currently Superman is alot more powerful than his Pre-Crisis/Silver Age days and that's saying alot lol.. That shows just how powerful Supes willpower (mental fortitude) and emotional strength are then combined with all of his New 52/Post-Crisis powers and abilities makes Superman a skyfather level being!! why didnt you include the punch to phantom stranger the one that made him bleed and the one that shattered his body.. On the speed feats you should have inculded the time he was insde the source wall and moved where there was no time or distance and even though he was going as fast as he could it was shown he wasnt moving and final crises speed feat as well combat speed he has 3 good ones on the flash one where he flicks wallie another where he grabs his arm as he is running and lastly one where he cloths lines reverse flash. You guys should go over his amped state and story of superman showings too on your resistances video. Also he absorbed source enrgy on war world and also when magog ought him later blasted him with his source staff and he just absorbed the blast and flew through it smiling. I guess him negging the antilife eqution in dark knights mettal is resistances as would be his fight with bizzarro and him absorbing the magic of creation and amping that up to use magic on superman.
Mainly to save time. Trying to keep videos between 10-15 minutes now to keep people engaged. But all the feats you mentioned will be used in other videos or vs battles we do with Superman.
World Forger already confirmed Superman was a threat to him reguardless that’s why he had to devise a plan to even contain him and then try to kill him while he was powerless in the first place. Plus later in the Dark Nights death metal run after he negates the anti life equation which is something both Alpheus and Mar Novu was shown to NOT be able to do he was able to one shot Barbatos who previously killed the World forger.
So Superman can beat World-Breaker-Hulk then ??? Or any other version of the Hulk ??? How do the team of writers come-up with worthy foes for Superman to fight ??? He's pretty-OPed,almost nothing can hurt/harm him,thus making him and his stories very boring for the readers of Superman.Supes can do almost anything or everything,where's the challenge for him ????
That’s what makes Superman stories (and most other powerful characters’ stories) so great. They do have some villains that can fight on their level, but the real intrigue is the ideological battles that take place. Not every story should be who punches harder, but rather what are your heroes standing for and why

Superman villains are almost as strong, of not stronger than superman himself
