Thank you so much for capturing and sharing this experience! Your hair looks amazing and your stylist did a great job explaining everything....I also prefer scarfs to bonnets. Great Video
Your hair and shape looks beautiful and I can’t wait to continue following you on your journey! 😍Since Spring I’ve also decided not give myself curly cuts anymore. Just for shape up. Now I’m back to my old routine of getting it cut on blown out hair. I’m retaining much more length! 😊
Rabielle ❤️ thank you! I’ve been loving following your journey as well. Your videos are so informative. Yes! I’m so excited to get my next blown out cut next week and see what kind of difference three months can make for me. 🖤
@@BrittanyMia I’m excited too because your hair has grown so long already! 🤩 I’ve started stretching my cuts to every 6 months lol. Next trim will be in Spring. I’m going the extremes when it comes to hair cuts now. But will do a little trim here and there when I see SSKs or tiny splits. 🫣
So many Wonderful things to say about this video, but I don't want my comment to be too long😄 I will say thank you tremendously for sharing your truthful experiences❤ Also it's comforting to see that it's professionals out here who do care & put love into their work. Go👏🏼 Breanna❤ No sloppiness with her, no forcing the brush through your strands, just Amazing! I love how thorough she is with her conversations, her neatness & organization. I could go on & on but I'll just end it with saying You & your hair is BE👏🏼YOU👏🏼TI👏🏼FUL
It’s my pleasure to share my experiences with you all. I’m so grateful for having found such an incredible stylist because she’s been imperative in my hair journey this past year. And I’m beyond happy that these videos are helpful or at least informative and insightful. Thank you 🖤❣️!!!
This hairdresser is boss!! Woa! Your hair is soo wow!! You look amazing! You're beautiful! All you shared in your vidoes are my experiences over the yrs also its why i subcribed to you before i can relate !! Thank you.
Your hair is beautiful! When I first started using mousse for my wash n gos, I also noticed that it would dry out my hair and only last three days. I’ve been pairing my mousse with a leave in and now my hair last a week. It’s help with moisture and longevity. My fav combo is Pattern beauty leave in with either the doux or design essentials mousse. Maybe try a leave in that pairs well with your mousse
Breanna is going to make me book a flight!! Your hair is gorgeous and the shape is chefs kiss!! 😱She used moose on dry hair and not on the roots! Your skin looks great… I’m currently using this sunscreen and once it’s finished, I’m returning to La Roach-Posay Anthelios for more moisture. Looking forward to removing my braids next week so that I can try this technique! 💕
Do it! Thank you. The Isdin can be quite drying, which is annoying. Lately i've been trying some Korean sunscreens that I love and that don't dry me out. I hope this technique works out for you!
Absolutely Beautiful. The stylist was so thorough and detailed. I Loved the way she took her time. I watched both video's. Thank you always for sharing

You are very inspiring to me and I'm learning so much from watching your videos. And my hair is flourishing just as well because I'm learning a lot from watching your videos and others... My only problem is finding a good natural hair salon & stylist in Houston TX, I found 1 but she disappointed me. I can't go back to her. Period! I'm glad to be a part of your hair journey. Sorry you had a bad experience with a local stylist. That can be frustrating. Breanna's information is located in the description box. She's located in Lawrence, Kansas.
Your hair looks AMAZING! Makes me miss my long(er) hair. This tapered cut I got a few months ago can’t grow out fast enough 🥲 Dry/damn near dry wash-n-gos are the GOAT, for me. Been doing them for years, and the combo of the elongation and definition I get is unmatched.
😮 wow your hair is growing more and more in every video you can see the difference omg I’m trying to get my hair to grow more I’m on my 2nd year since I shaved my head I have length but sadly my curls shed I keep it in a bun a lot and I have high porosity hair that drys quickly. If you have any tip’s please let me know. Thank you for sharing beautiful!!!!
Love it! I have a Dyson but I find myself only using it on occasion for a silk press. My Revair is my goto and Ive retained so much length drying my hair with the Revair and doing dry flat twistouts. Your hair looks amazing!❤❤❤Come thru Revair, give my gurl a unit!
@@curlynella1011 Right now I find myself reaching for my Natures Little Secret Irish Moss Styling Cream but really any thicker styling cream or butter will do. I like more of a carefree beach wavy look so I apply very little to each section.
Yes! I have a Dyson, it cost me $400.00 at the time I purchased it. It's worth it ... I also got the lifetime warranty on it. I will never buy another hair dryer in my life. Make sure you get that. If it breaks you will get a replacement. I love My Dyson Blow dryer. I love the Diffuser attachment the best. It dries my hair very fast. Your hair is amazing!!!!
I'M not home right now , I'm traveling for work , let me look at my warranty I will give you more details. I purchased my Dyson a long time ago, I will advise once done
So beautiful and full. Thanks for the tip on using mousse on a blow out to help with elongation after blow drying. I will be getting some of that smoothing cream. I have a dyson and have had it for about 2 years now. I use it to diffuse my hair after styling it. I hate sitting under the dryer. It takes about 30 minutes to diffuse. I also have a RevAir. Can’t wait to try this. I always liked your thick, beautiful, natural curls. The clumps were pretty too. I Loved it!! Thanks for sharing.
I absolutely love this. Great job keeping it for 4 days. ❤❤ I want to try this way too. I had a bad experience with wet wash and go's and my hair broke off so badly. 😢 This makes me want to try again.
It’s beautiful. I love the shape and dry wash’n go. I like the doux and get better results on damp/dry hair. But I don’t use it often because of the pvp ingredient. It causes buildup for me and I need to clarify more often than I prefer. Oh, my old hair dryer recently went out and I replaced it with a Dyson. I see what the hype is about especially the diffuser. I still dry under the hood for 25 minutes and finish off with the diffuser.
Your hair look looks fabulous and so healthy ! I have a Dyson and very glad I purchased it . I also use that same sunscreen it’s been my go to for two years now
I would never have thought of doing a WnG on blown out hair! Amazing. It came out great, but I can understand not making it a twice weekly routine, due to over drying. But nice for special occasions for sure.
I think it is the entire bgc method that is the issue, before this trend I only know one youtuber who says she doesn’t need leave in but what she does need is deep conditioner. All those staples that were removed alongside curly cuts which can’t accurately take off damage and possibly heat damage from dryers … a mess 🤦🏾♀️ it’s great that you followed your intuition even as subscribers were apprehensive and some unfollowed
I got a Dyson for Christmas last year and it’s the best thing I’ve done for my hair. I rarely blow out my hair but I use the diffuser attachment to dry my wash and go’s and it’s phenomenal. I always start with cold air and then go up a heat setting and my hair always looks perfect. I’ve only ever blown out my hair with it once and it was a breeze. Worth every penny!
Thanks for sharing!! do you ever sit under a hooded dryer, or do you strictly diffuse? And how long does diffusing take you if you don’t mind me asking?
@@BrittanyMiaI strictly diffuse simply because it’s what I have. I also feel like diffusing allows me to get my roots dry quicker and better. It takes me about 30 mins to an hour depending on how dry I want my hair and the airflow setting. I always diffuse with my head leaning sideways (I switch sides) and the dryer facing up instead of straight down. That gives me volume and better access to my roots. But different people have various methods so you can play around with what works for you if you decide to go for it.
Your hair is BEAUTIFUL! 🥰💙.. Great video and stylist is amazing! 💙.. I just started doing wash n gos (however this week went back to a twist out 😂) .. but definitely got some tips💙
Yes I have a Dyson. Just got it this year. Before I bought it I remember reading an article saying how it is not needed, and while I agree it is not needed, I would buy it again in a heartbeat & am mad I did not buy it sooner. Money well spent imo.
I have a Dyson that I use for blowouts and diffusing after sitting under the hooded dryer but I plan to buy the RevAir for christmas. After watching a lot of videos on it the RevAir seems to be much less manipulation for a sleeker blowout. I've also seen people use it to stretch their wash and go's. I don't like the constant brushing and then using the comb attachment with the Dyson since I have fine strands.
I appreciate you sharing your experience and insight with the Dyson. I was thinking the same as far as manipulation goes. I really want both of them to compare.
I really can't advise you on that, but if that's something you want to do just pay attention to how your hair is reacting and make sure you're caring for it properly!
Your hair turned out good and usually I don't like mousse wash and gos. Could be because you did it on stretched hair but they usually don't last long so I give up and prefer leave in and gel wash and gos 💯
So your hair looks beautiful, it's giving! Following your journey is so encouraging! Your hair in the 3 years didn't show the split hairs that a couple of the UA-camrs were showing even with your hair blown out. This tells me that perhaps (and I can't say) something else was happening (it's never seems to be just one thing but a combo of things that show up in the one thing). If this is the same stylist (who seems very talented and knowledgeable by the way ) that has been trimming your hair in the curly cut and when it was blown out that there was minor damage to the ends (if any, I can't tell from the video), I can't see that it was the curly cut that's causing the issues (my view only-please don't come for me). You both have brought much to the table! There seems to be much communication between you! With all this being said, your shape still has a 3-D look and it looks great! What we as curly hair people should remember is that our hair is so versatileThanks for the reminder about mousse! So true! Thanks for sharing!
Thank you! I'll be making a video on this, but my takeaway is: 1. Going to a knowledgable and talented stylist who is educated in cutting curly hair. 2. Never stopping deep conditioners 3. Cowashing when I stopped using a leave-in temporarily. Then keeping cowashing in my routine on a once-per-week basis. 4. Going back to the leave-in's and creams. 5. Paying attention to what my hair needed despite others opinions (stylists included).
I wanna fly all the way to Kansas to sit in Breanna's chair because 😍. And absolutely agree with mousse not being hydrating enough. I learned over the summer from doing only mousse wash and gos. Love the volume and how easy it dries but it left my hair dry by the end of the summer. My theory is that mousse does not hold as much water as a gels or some leave ins so the water evaporates faster. I followed your tip and started using a leave in underneath. I also will use a non alcoholic hairspray over top before I sit under the drier and 🤌🏿. Volume, definition and hydration.
love your videos and watching your journey.❤thanks for bringing attention to two midwest salons. i live in mid missouri and have struggled with finding quality salons that specialize in black curly hair. i was going to make an appointment with tippy’s salon after watching your salon visit there but now i see this video and think i might start here with this salon😂 they both seem amazing but i do want to get my hair cut and shaped straight although i only wear it curly.
Absolutely! I’ve also been on that struggle of finding natural hair salons that I feel comfortable at here in the Midwest. Tippy is amazing, and I even think about scheduling appointments just to get my hair shampooed and styled by someone else sometimes since she’s so close to where I live. However, I travel to Breanna because I’ve built a relationship with her this past year and trust her with my hair over anybody else. They are both amazing options ❤️
Also the curl separation yesssss. What really helps is taking sections the width of your curls that way you can get the best clumping and separation for your hair type. Also a cream and mousse really gives omg. I love the shea moisture curl enhancing smoothie and my base cream. The ingredients are actually really good in this particular one. Then I add a mousse on top and brush it through and rake and the softness and definition really gives. Cute date night hair
I did a cream and mousse combo this past week and 🤯 it’s giviiiiiing. My hair is so soft and moisturized. The hold, the bounce, and the movement is everything.
@@BrittanyMia so once my hair is completely dry, I start sectioning with clips and I reapply the mousse similar to how I styled wet, I just tried this with the Curlsmith in shower style fixer and it worked pretty good too
Ditto to what everyone else is saying❤ Love seeing your hair and your channel flourish! I know that Dyson is the truth and i want it... But my wallet says no 😂 like how the Revair looks too.
One of my biggest pet peeves is when a stylist is constantly touching their dirty phone and then my clean hair. We all know our phones have been everywhere from the bottom of our purse to our bed to the floor of our car. Bacteria and fungus can contribute to hair loss too.
Tbh, I have low porosity 4B/4C hair and the only way for my coils to be super defined is doing the DRY AND GO method. I tried to do wash and gos for the past years but it just doesn't work for me.
@@Imanixo2it's isually the other way round. I've seen a lot of hairstylists explaining how mousse is a great sealant. I usually use eco slay on dry hair or a thick curly cream and the doux mousse def on top of it. It gives me great results 👌🏾
She doesn’t have split ends. It’s not the cuts. It’s the way people take care of their hair. She still used leave ins and deep conditioner. honestly idk
This. Also my stylist does her own method of curly cutting. She teaches, and is the founder of Curlology Curl Academy in Lawrence, KS. I knew I couldn’t go without leave-in, deep conditioner and creams. That in conjunction with having an educated stylist who believes in nuance and not a “one size fits all perspective” is what aided in my hair retaining length. Also, I was getting curly cuts for health, but mainly shape. I learned I couldn’t retain real length with them long term. That’s just me though. Some folks can but I was obsessed with trying different shapes. Now I’m focused on just retaining length for my wash and go’s. I can shape it without having it cut.
I agree with you about the cuts. It does matter how you take care of your hair (especially since it lives with us 24/7). It's on our heads everyday and at the stylist once we see them! However, it is imperative that stylists take care of their tools (sharp scissors, brushes, combs, clips, etc.) because that could also lead to problems (just my view). So much involved in our natural hair journey.
@@pameladavis895the skill level of the stylist is also very important. Remember everything they learn in beauty school is on straight hair. They have to put in the hours through continuing education to learn and become highly skilled at maintaining HEALTHY natural hair. Once upon a time they used to say you can't see damage on blow dried hair and would recommend flat ironing for cuts. I think eventually we will get to a point where they are able to do trims, cuts and shape, everything with the hair in its natural state. Especially for curlies who do not ever blow dry or flat iron their curls. As for right now, not all stylists are there yet.
I am always falling in love with the versatility of our hair!!! It's the range for me!🎉🎉

Much like me suggesting the Kazmaleje Brush, that Tymo AirHype will get you right - just like the Dyson ❤️
I love them both, to be honest.
Oh, Tymo AirHype? I'll check it out! Thanks for sharing this info!
I've had my eye on the TYMO. Thanks again for sharing!
Absolutely love it! I have a revair hair dryer. Would you say using it once a week for blow out is ok?
Thank you! I'll be making a video on this, but my takeaway is:
1. Going to a knowledgable and talented stylist who is educated in cutting curly hair.
2. Never stopping deep conditioners
3. Cowashing when I stopped using a leave-in temporarily. Then keeping cowashing in my routine on a once-per-week basis.
4. Going back to the leave-in's and creams.
5. Paying attention to what my hair needed despite others opinions (stylists included).
Wonderful! Looking forward to you summation! @@BrittanyMia
It's beautiful
thank ya!
Your hair looks amazing! I want to try this technique soon, but with a different mousse. My hair is not a fan of the Mousse Def.
Your hair looks sooooo good. Amazing! Making me want to revisit mouse but my hair usually feels extremely dry by day 2😩
Omgggg the cut is givingggg. I’m going for my 3 month trim this coming Friday so my hair is braided up until then
Also the curl separation yesssss.
Love
I love The Doux on semi wet hair not damp but not soaking wet either lol 😂 and I have started re casting my hair once dry
How do you recast your hair once dry? Similar to how Breanna is doing it (using a holding spray) or differently?
@@BrittanyMia so once my hair is completely dry, I start sectioning with clips and I reapply the mousse similar to how I styled wet, I just tried this with the Curlsmith in shower style fixer and it worked pretty good too
Yes for mousse def, I get a spray bottle and DAMPEN my hair, that soaking wet doesn’t work for everyone all the time.
mousse def needs to come out with bigger bottles. mousse alone on my hair makes it dry. i love my creams but i will try a liquid leave in
❤❤❤❤ it
❤️❣️❤️
I think the Doux Mousse Def works better on my hair when it’s damp.
Beautiful! So you wash once a week and co-wash in the middle of the week?
Thanks! Yes, I do a midweek cowash on Wednesday evenings and reset on Sunday.
Ok, I’m going to try that. ❤
Ditto to what everyone else is saying❤ Love seeing your hair and your channel flourish! I know that Dyson is the truth and i want it... But my wallet says no 😂 like how the Revair looks too.
I got the revair and only have used it a handful of times over three years. I should have gotten the Dyson. I see myself using it more.
Hey Dgirl22s 👋🏾! Thank you❣️ I’m saying lol. From the comments, I know it’ll be a worthwhile purchase, but still 😫💸.
Sending 💝!
💛
One of my biggest pet peeves is when a stylist is constantly touching their dirty phone and then my clean hair. We all know our phones have been everywhere from the bottom of our purse to our bed to the floor of our car. Bacteria and fungus can contribute to hair loss too.
Do you have a mid week co-wash video?
I don’t, but it’s in my planner to create one. However, there is a chapter in almost all of my recent videos showing my midweek cowashing.
what is she spraying on your hair right before she blow-dries it?
Glamsculpt. I have a link to it in the description box.
Can you do a dry wash and go with gel on top of the mousse? Will that mess it up
Good question. I think it depends on the gel and if that gel needs water to activate. If not, it'd be worth a try.
Tbh, I have low porosity 4B/4C hair and the only way for my coils to be super defined is doing the DRY AND GO method.
I tried to do wash and gos for the past years but it just doesn't work for me.
I’ve never heard of this until this video. Can you layer gel on the mousse with the dry method
I'm glad you have a method that works for you! Thats what's important.
Ooo good point. I never really thoought much about tha, but absolutley true.@@pameladavis895
Thank you for your comment! Very insightful! @@thingsilove18
I’m sorry did we not use a leave in or cream?
The Innersense serenity smoothing cream was on my hair prior to blow drying.
Why am I about to try a dry WNG my next salon visit
It’s a game changer ✨
