Thank you! I've been seeing various UA-cam tech reviewers saying that the action button was essentially useless to them because they couldn't assign double-tap or triple-tap actions to it. And I kept thinking, "I bet you could do more with that button with shortcuts" but hadn't had the time to look into it. You've given me a big leg up with this.

@@beardfm I made a shortcut using the volume to execute commands. thank you so much, that has helped me so much on customizing my Action Button, I just with the Action Button was either lower or on the power side.. so stupid to make it hard to reach for small hands.
You’re welcome! I agree it’d be nice lower especially on the Pro Max. Here’s a follow up video with 13 more ideas! ua-cam.com/video/opw5u7L3x6Y/v-deo.htmlsi=htbDt8lR-SyhulHr
Amazingly helpful video. I was able to create a menu with a few alarm toggles since l like to do about 7 alarms spread out in 5 minute increments starting at either 5am (workout), 6am (normal work days) and 8am (weekends)
Exactally what I was looking for. An easy way to get a list of websites and open the chosen one instantly. Great video.
Oh that’s a great idea too! And thank you 🙏🏻
Love the "Minas Tirith" wifi name. And a great video, too! It is exactly what I was looking for! Thanks!
Haha thanks for noticing, and watching!
I made a shortcut based on orientation of the phone thanks to the actions app. It’s very handy but it can be a pain trying to remember all the different available actions
Yes the orientation stuff is very cool, but I'm sticking with my menu 😅
Is there a way to do a automation that when is morning the acrion button behavior is câmera , when is after 19:00 the acrion button choose torch light?
Absolutely! Just start the automation with Get current date, format for time, and then use an If statement for when 19 or after do X, otherwise, Y
Amazing tutorial! Thanks a lot :) The action button + shortcut is an amazing combo!!!
You’re welcome! Thanks for watching
And it's the only thing you will ever need, lol. Shortcut can already do everything the action button can be mapped to and lots more..
Hey I’ve been trying the advanced action with focus, it’s not working the way you showed in the video
Are you on any of the iOS 18 betas? There's been a number of Shortcuts bugs
This was an amazing tutorial. Thanks 🎉
Glad you enjoyed it!
Great video!
Appreciate that!
I just did this about 2 days ago. I was like how can i get this button to do more than one thing and I recently started playing around with shortcuts. I have no clue why I have never used shortcuts before but then I decided to do exactly this lol
Shortcuts are super fun! I listed 13 more here you can download: ua-cam.com/video/opw5u7L3x6Y/v-deo.htmlsi=IAfLsMzgAHrJDksT
Idk what i am doing wrong. It opens the App for the „work“ Mode and also the flashlight for the sleeping mode in same time
I'm trying to toggle mute and hold for camera(or flashlight depends on what i need the most) but for the mute i dont want to go to the menu i want a direct toggle mute but i am having a hard time with the if statements etc
Will work on that!
@@beardfm just to reiterate tap/push for mute and hold for other applications
Wow great video and comments. Thank you all.
Thanks for watching 🙏🏻
Stephen !!! 🎉❤ thanks a million for sharing your shortcut and also making this video. You have taken my iPhone 15 Pro Max Action Button experience to another level.
Nice! Glad I could help 🙂
There wont pop up anything ”one” or ”two”. Only next action suggestions?
Any chance you could share the shortcut you made publicly?
It’s in the description! I also share 13 more here: ua-cam.com/video/opw5u7L3x6Y/v-deo.htmlsi=qnissmqyYZc9VYV_
Ok I got it working but I have it set to if not on focus mode turn on flashlight. Works on my iPhone but not on my watch. I have it to set directions if on. Flashlight if off. It’ll give me directions but won’t turn on flashlight. Any help?
Dude, I got addicted to your channel, damn it!!!
The best kind of addiction 😏 thanks!
Will this work on Apple Watch Ultra too?
How to add the screenshot in the action button? thanks!
I was able to build my own custom menu thanks for this video you make it a lot easier to create these!
Glad I could help!
AWESOME VIDEO.
Please help me understand, why You‘ve had these 2 actions (Mute & Camera) 2 times in Your shortcut?
At first at the top with the emoji and the red circle to delete it and than a second time under these 2 options again???
Greetings from Switzerland 🇨🇭
I was testing out multiple menus and Shortcuts, that's all. They performed the same action.
This is a great video, shortcuts are so powerful and easy to follow with your guide. Please keep them coming!
Appreciate that! I have more coming soon!
Great shortcut however just noticed the shortcut won’t run when in DND. Any fix for this ?
GREAT video. I am learning so much here. I would love to see if we can make a shortcut based on orientation of the phone. Pressing the action button to toggle screen orientation lock while in apps like photos, while watching UA-cam or any streaming apps. I would love to see more shortcut based videos
Thanks! Seeing from others it looks like you *can* do that, but it requires a third-party app to add that Action to Shortcuts
@@beardfm I see. Do you happen to know what app it is?? Would love to see you make a video on the app. Your action button video is very powerful. I’ve been using it everyday now. Thank you
Best tutorial video by far
Appreciate that!
Very nice video! Thanks for the shortcut. I have an iPhone 14 Pro so I have linked the shortcut to the double tap on the back function in the accessibility section. Not as straightforward as the 15 Pro but it does the trick
I used the Back Tap often on my previous iPhone models, good call! Also, I posted 13 more Shortcut ideas here: ua-cam.com/video/opw5u7L3x6Y/v-deo.htmlsi=0L-wn_XIucrtbWBE
How do I make it toggle on and off my Philips hue lights? I did it where I name it lights in the main menu, after clicking it it brings up another menu which has on and off, then that turns the lights on or off through the home kit app, but when I do it like that is says accessory is out of resources.
This is a great video. Thanks for posting. Is it possible to embed a menu in the Action Button menu you created? Thanks again.
You’re welcome, and absolutely! That’s how the HomeKit scenes work
@@beardfm Thank you. I tried what you did but for some reason could not get the “Open App” command to function the same way 1 level down.
Not sure if it's because I'm on 17.1, but my 15 Pro Max does not give you a scripting choice of Set Silent Mode, but if I download the entire shortcut from your link it will work
Strange. May be a bug
Can you create a short cut that actually toggles BT and Wifi(or celular) off... or on.. when im home.. i only use wifi.. when i leave, i activate those things for watch and pairing to my car.. it'd be great to download
This was so great. Got your download and built on it. Now I can arm/disarm the house and even set airplane mode on flight that also opens Spotify and puts my battery on low power. Well done.
Haha love it! Thanks 🙏🏻
Ya know if you could use the apple and the action button as on screen taps you would have a pretty good gaming phone. Useable for a lot more quality of life in games.
SOMEONE HELP!!!
Is there any way to make a shortcut that does this:
1. Open settings
2. Open battery
3. Open battery health and charging
4. Open charging optimization
5. Set charge to 80% (would also like to make a separate one to select optimized battery charging)
