New Orleans Police is six months, or about 24-28 weeks. Not an impressive amount, especially with low training standards, outdated practices and a lack of hours needed for mental health training and other various aspects of policing. It's quite disappointing for sure, even more so when you take in the Academy format it uses, they're there 24/7, they stay within the academy itself and training becomes their life. That way, the academy format can use as much of that 6 months as humanly possible without many breaks in between So seeing all that squandered with subpar training is such a waste.

@@g.w.k.y6869 well after the academy you are still considered a recruit and have to do 4 months of on the job training it’s actually a lot of time if you go through it
@@TheRealSupremeBape not more than 3 years man. Not saying it's easy, any police academy/FTO is difficult, but there's good training and bad training, both equally hard but different. 3 years is just more
