Hi Jason, sorry for the slow reply bud. Thanks for the great feedback 🙂, really appreciate your kind words mate 👍. 4-1 is too strong mate. Why don’t you spray the softwash solution on rather than brushing it…here in Australia we spray it on with our softwash pumps, then rinse offf…I’m interested to see why..looks fantastic
Hi abate1936, thanks for the great feedback 👍 It's mainly due to the high risk of overspray. In the UK, most of our houses are built very close together, so the risk of spraying into other peoples properties, killing fish in ponds, killing plant life, spraying kids, pets or anyone just walking about is too high. Sure, applying by brush takes longer, but overspray is kept to an absolute minimum, plus I find that agitating the surface can use less chemical and give a better finish.
Looks good. Q1. 130 degree water? A kettle boils (water turns to steam) at 100. How do you get 130 degree water? Q2. I see Hypo but no mention of a biocide after?
Cheers 👍. It's not the same mate, it's all to do with the pressure in which the water is delivered. The term steam cleaning in our industry is factually incorrect, what's coming out of the end of everyones nozzles who are "steam cleaning" is actually super heated water that just gives off steam from the water that's coming out the nozzle. All this info is online on steam charts, I had one saved but I can't find it. To produce actual steam at say 100 bar of pressure, you'd have to heat the water to something like 300c, I can't remember the exact figure, but it's definitely something high like that. We all call it steam cleaning, including myself but it's actually super hot water, hence why i said 130c hot water. Hypo is a biocide bud, but if you mean bac50 or ddac biocide, why would I biocide after? you can't kill the organic growth twice.
Have watched several of your videos and am amazed at your work. I am wondering when you talk of "8 or 9 to 1 hypo", exactly what do you mean. Is it 8 or 9 Litres of water to 1 Litre of 5% Sodium Hypochlorite. How much of what strength "Hypo" to how much water please. Also what is the surfactant and how does it affect the mix.
Thanks very much Larry, really appreciate that mate. Yes 8 or 9 litres to 1 litre, but with 15% SH. The surfactant doesn't do anything but help the SH stick to walls or surfaces, it also slows down evaporation 👍
@@PrestigeExternalCleaning Thanks for the reply. Can you say what you use as a Surfactant. How much you would add to a mix of 1 Litre 15% SH and 8/9 Litres water.
Could you do a video or tell use how your mixing and pumping the solution , I'm currently painting it on with long reach brushes and dipping in buckets asi know hypo is bad for pump seals
Hypo's okay on pumps for quite a while, as long as you rinse it out with clean water after every use. I'm currently using a Gardiner backpack to apply, they only last around 6 months before the hypo kills them. But the thousands that have been earned from that £100 backpack makes it well worth it
Hi Carl, yeah it's okay to wash down using cold. The main aim of wash/rinse down is to remove the dead organic growth. The only down side to using cold is that you need to use more pressure than if using hot. Ideally you want as low pressure as possible when cleaning render, which is why I prefer to use hot over cold. But cold is fine, you just need to be more careful not to damage the render 👍.
@@PrestigeExternalCleaning new to the soft wash game! Thx for the help!💪 one more question though… do you know any type of renders that can get destroyed by hypo?

@@mazman8343 Not in my experience mate, if applied properly, in conjunction with steam the render will look clean for years. Benz is just label compliant hypo or biocide, bit of a waste of money in my opinion. 👍
@@mazman8343 What do you mean 40? 40 years experience? Or 40 years old? Sorry, but you don't seem like you've got much experience, with the amount of novice questions you ask. The biocide you're telling me is a game changer is Bio Cleanze by Benz. It's just another DDAC biocide that's no different to Algoclear Pro, GK Pro or any other number of DDAC based biocides. I Would have thought someone with the amount of experience you claim to have would know that 🤷🏻♂️. So many people in our industry think that biocide like bac50 or DDAC is residual, but none of the companies who sell it will answer how long it actually lasts for. I've used hypo and bio, over the last 10 years, and my actual real life experience tells me that bio's not as great as some people and businesses make it out to be, and actually hypo works just as well, if not better on most occasions.

Cheers mate, hypo bud 👍
Hi friend it's only a quick fix the red comes back after a few months . Benz is a game changer 150pounds a gallon
It's expensive but the mix is 25/1. Hipo is only bleach quick fix. 🙏
@@mazman8343 Not in my experience mate, if applied properly, in conjunction with steam the render will look clean for years. Benz is just label compliant hypo or biocide, bit of a waste of money in my opinion. 👍
@@PrestigeExternalCleaning what would I no I'm only 40 at this .
I've used hypo and bio, over the last 10 years, and my actual real life experience tells me that bio's not as great as some people and businesses make it out to be, and actually hypo works just as well, if not better on most occasions.
thought it was a bit of a shit house to start with but at the end wishing i lived there lol
🤣👍
Wonder how many neighbors are thinking about having theirs done now.
😆One did come over while i was working, when I gave them a price, they made their excuses and left 🤣
