Russia has been meddling in Ukraine’s politics for years. The propaganda machine has obviously been working overtime to the point where you see these ordinary people being oblivious to what’s going on outside of their country. The EU and North America amongst other developed regions are slowly closing that door on Russia. It’s current administration’s belligerence and dishonesty have sealed it’s fate. It’s targeted victim, Ukraine, will hopefully soon be accepted into the EU, despite some “so called” members’ wishes. Perhaps a shake up of current members’ status is in order?

      - make sure that society has little time to reflect (a lot of work for little pay)
      - create lasting doubts about the credibility of others
      - sell worldly progress as a purely Russian product

Like Germans before WWII. We were an empire, we are an Empire, we deserve an empire and we deserve glory and acknowledgement. Glory lost, lives lost, nothing gained. Viktor Orban has the same rhetoric in Hungrary. The nostalgia over "The great Hungarian empire" , the hate for Trianon. The dissolvement of the Austro-Hungarian empire and formation of Czechoslovakia and other countries, calling my country Slovakia Felvidek (the upper lands) . Pushing for friendship with Russia and communist China...so pathetic. Russia (USSR) crushed Hungary in WWII, brutally crushed the Hungarian uprising in 1956... And often times I can understand them, I know that they feel the same way we feel about people "on our side". Russia is the most obscure country in the world, in my opinion. People there seem to have always been treated as slaves. And that's what kept Russia from breaking up into small pieces.
I don't believe that they're 'slaves' genetically and they will always be... but there has to be some kind of expalnation of how, during the same period of history Germany couldn't unite into one single country, Russia at the same time was the biggest country in the world with hundreads of different nationalities being kept and treated

I'll actually be delighted to answer and correct your faulty view of history.
Firstly, the Boris Johnson story is old and long debunked. There was never a point that this happened. It's a total fabrication. As if Boris Johnson had that power even if he wanted to! Sad and desperate propaganda.
Secondly, let's talk about the Donbas, but more specifically Igor Girkin and Donbas ...
Mh 17 passenger airliner was shot down in Donbas in July 2014. A Dutch court found three ruSSians guilty in absentia of that crime and those russians are wanted by the ICC to stand trial in the Hague for war crimes. But guess who one of the russians was?
Igor Girkin! Former FSB officer (now in jail in russia for criticising putin). Girkin has admitted in several published interviews that the FSB invaded Crimea and Donbas in 2014. It was not a popular uprising, and russian speaking Ukrainians were not under threat. Girkin has admitted that the mess russia created in the Donbas has led to hatred of russia in the Donbas. He has gone on record saying there was no civil war. Just the FSB causing provocations that were then backed up by the russian army in neutral uniforms. putin has since invented the figure of 20,000 civilian deaths, offering NO EVIDENCE whatsoever; no cemeteries filled with bodies, no names, no eye witnesses, nothing. Yevgeny Prigozhin (naturally before putin had him murdered) has also admitted very publicly that there were no Nazis in Ukraine and that Ukraine had posed no threat to russia before the invasion. He openly blamed elites in Moscow for launching an unnecessary and unprovoked war designed to make themselves rich.
This is called reality. This is called the truth. This is not what you are used to hearing. This is not the narrative you are paid to promote. But this is all a matter of record and history.

A lot of Russians (esp those who live farther from the capital) most certainly do not think like this. The overall understanding is that war is awful and that Putin is awful and that this all needs to end and fast. The people interviewed in this video are brainwashed by the government and can’t really get a grasp on the reality of this, but most others know that this is wrong.
