Isn't it interesting that he took the mic away from his mouth and his voice could still be heard over the speakers?? Maybe he has the magical ability to throw his voice :P
It's vocal layering that is standard practice in professional recording. It is not the same as Lip syncing. What you're usually hearing is often "2 or more Charlie Puths" singing at the same time - sometimes the exact same melody, sometimes harmonised. Vocals are often recorded a few times and played all together at the same time, often milliseconds apart and panned differently. This creates a "choir chorus" type effect the makes the vocals much bigger/wider. When performing live, there's bound to be pre-recorded parts of Charlie playing while he sings live along it.
