Lyrics
I’m upset, she don’t know why
She don’t know why I’m so high
I’m depraved, too far gone to save
She is fast, I will never last
I’ll never make it through the night
She is playing with my heart
But that’s the way it goes.
I’m depressed, she don’t know why
Wanting more than a ticket can buy
I’ll go in, and face reality
Watch her burn, but the fire is in me
I’ll never make it through the night
She is playing with my heart
But that’s the way it goes.
The way it is
Don’t you know

Epitaph Records is an artist-first indie label founded in Los Angeles by Bad Religion guitarist, Brett Gurewitz. Early releases from a variety of punk heavyweights helped launch the 90s punk explosion. Along the way, Epitaph has grown and evolved creatively while sticking to its mission of helping real artists make great recordings on their own terms.

Im really diggin this new song milos vocals are different aggressive sounding i like it.
Thats because this and the rest of the album was made right before Milo Goes To College
@@vegasthunder4208 written before 1980….guitar, bass and drums recorded in 2002 I think and Milo’s voice last year.
Apparently this song was written by Tony Lombardo, the bass player for Descendents. It's about another bass player that Tony had a crush on. Wholesome.
Dianne Chai of The Alley Cats, an incredible bassist.
Epitaph... for the love of god, just release the fucking record
This honestly might be one of the best punk rock songs of all time
For real! 🤘
I love Tony Lombardo on bass! This is awesome!!!
The guy should be credited as one of the most influential punk bass players. He paved the way for later bassist like Alvarez himself
One of the more underrated bassists of the last 30 years.
Watched Filmage and saw that he regretted leaving the band and wanted to get back in. Amazing to see that not only happened, but with new stuff like this 🤙🏼
Everything sucks meets Milo goes to college, amazing song! I get goosebumps every time I hear backing vocals
One of the best bands of all time is back. Rock on🤘
I’m so excited to hear the whole thing. This is so good.
It sounds a lot like this band we used to listen to, huh. Milos voice finally went through puberty.
Holy fucking shit these dudes can still do this.... greatest punk band of ALL TIME.
Sick. Nostalgic vibes, can’t wait for the new record.
Wow, really captures their old sound. 👍🏼💯
Needed this after the week that just occured.
Hang in there mate, we only get 1 life, hope yours is blessed 🤙
I have to secondage that particular sentiment. Definitely needed this album to yet again lean on me some Descendents! ALL!
Man Milo's voice still holds up so well, obviously it's not 19 yr old milo but still mans Killin it
If you didn't know this song is about Diane Chai of the Alley Cats, she was an awesome bassist and vocalist. She was banging 😍
The riff in the middle sounds like a tribute to the Alleycats too.
@@michaelpawlowicz9377 I thought the riff had a bit of the sound of "Myage"
@John Doe I hear it too. That drum roll and the riff starts.
WOW! Milo's voice is sick here! As others have said very nostalgic. Very "Everything Sucks" esque and I'm loving it!
Increíble descendents sin perder su escencia hasta el día de hoy saludos desde chile amigos!!!!
This was played in Stockage 2002
Man they really like putting Age at the end of every word
@@theg.o.a.t3983 it's a socal slang thing popular in the 70's-80's
Essentially this whole album was played then lmao
@@NostalgiaCassetteCity It seems like it, I’ve been looking at the live footage.
Stockage was a good time!
Smooth like butter. Stoked to see these South Bay long timers at PRB 2021 !
This (along with Crepe Suzette and To Remember) is the song I was the most excited to finally hear since watching the Stockage 2002 footage and I was NOT disappointed
Which ones are Crepe Suzette and To Remember? I can't understand the lyrics that well in the Stockage video. Regardless I'm incredibly excited for the album, the wait has been killing me.
@@MrCreepyKitty I am incredibly excited for those too! Going to be amazing to hear Milo sing the first two singles for the first time ever, his singing voice is still so good even after all this time.
April 2021- The Offspring and their new album "Let the Bad Times Roll"
July 2021- Descendents and their new album "9th & Walnut"
Well, it looks like the punk is still not dead. 🤘
rise against, nofx green day new song and the artists like modsun jxdn, the new scene of pop punk
@@thibauttt3491 Thx for the tips pal, I'll check it out. :))
punk is dad
Hell yeah
The offspring(sellouts) is far from punk these days
This is the greatest song in the history of songs! I’m serious. 🤘
This is the best thing I have ever heard right now. I can't stop listening to this song. Thank you for putting this up. Cheers!!(A)
Great song...love the drum fills 🤘🤘
So old school!! LOVE IT!!
Sounds like it came straight off of Milo goes to college !!! So sick ! Can't wait for the rest of this to come out !!!!!!
Amazing teachers! Thanks
My daughter says I listen to this song way too much....I grounded her
omg, what a banger, i swear, they took a page out of AC/DC's book in honoring the original guitarist on this album, Frank was amazing
Indeed Frank Navetta was amazing. RIP. This particular track Tony Lombardo said was inspired by the Alley cat's bassist Diane Chai.
Love this!!!
This makes me happy. Descendants still kill it
That's what I am talking about!!!
Love this
かっけー!!アルバム出るんだー!やったね
Holy F**king SHIT! I've loved every Descendents album but I love these old songs remade. This one has me scratching my head as to why it didn't make its way onto Goes to College. But IDC because this album is gonna slaaaaaAaap!
They cut their teeth on these amazing track's and then again hell yeah! Worth the wait Still my favorite band besides ALL! Thank you for playing the way you play!
Everytime I listen to this band I get goosebumps fucking love you guys
Awesome!!
Can't wait for the new album 👌♥️
I just feel right listening to this
This is awesome! What a treat!
Hell yes. New Descendents!!!
"New"
@@isetmfriendsofire New Old Descendents
Awesome
Awesome 👍
frank and tony!!!! oh man!
Amazing record! Just wish they'd released it before frank passed. Amazing stuff regardless. A rare miss was ride the wild and it's a hectic world. I liked the milo versions well enough, but those two songs are epic on their own in the original release. The rest of the record was mind blowing.
Like the way I know was also a bit of a letdown because even though it was the same tempo as the original the chunky guitar tone made it feel a lot more slower and labored. The original recording is phenomenal and should’ve made it onto Milo goes to college
Hell yeah!!! Can't wait. Last saw the Decendents around 1995 for their Wearing Out Our Welcome at the Whiskey in Hollywood.
I saw em in 2017ish and broke my ribs, best show
@@garfsexual6999 Dude, you're more punk than me! Hurt in the pit is the price to pay. :)
I saw them in Santa Barbara in the summer of 96
@@PinstripeJim to be fair, at the time I was a drunk and an addict, so I didn't feel it till the next day when I was sober haha
@@garfsexual6999 I was just drunk. 75% of all punk shows I was nearly painless in the pit. DD the other 25%
Awesome.
Super rad!
Sounds cool
This is Crazy
Genius.
Hey you! You are always welcome here! Brighton uk
D.E.S.C.E.N.D.E.N.T.S
What is it an acronym for?
Also...Frank Navetta is the FUCKING man
amazin'
Idk what it is about the chord progression during the chorus but it just _slaps_
hellllll yes
This is badass
I can feel "The Last" influences here.
Definitely and this is just what these amazing guys do for ALL of us💯
Best track from this 'lost' album
Esto se va a descontrolar!!!
Gracias Gracias Gracias Gracias
Thanks
WHOA!!! GUATEMALA
this so much of a signature song like "Hope" i just wish we didn't have to wait 40 years to finally hear the finished product
I told somebody about this a few months ago, about how this song took over 40 years to get released.
For those not familiar, the song was written sometime between 1977 and 1980 per Wikipedia.
The initial recording sessions took place in Fort Collins, Colorado (with Frank Navetta and Tony Lombardo) in 2002.
Milo later added vocals to the song in 2020.
didnt know this was a thing hell yeah
Oh sick new descendents album dropping
they're back
Nice Melodyne
Should have 1000000k likes !
That bass 😍
SIIIIICKKKK!!!!
Fucking great, cant wait for the album.
Awesome song .. fuck tony was the man but listening to those early records we all knew that right
yes. oh yes.
The vocals on this song remind me of the way Wendy O Wiliams from the Plasmatics sang. The Plastmatics could have covered this.
1:56 Play that thing!
Oh badass…
🥺🎶
Cannot wait to see them with rise against
Epic, and early too
I agree 💯
I'm so fucking pumped for this record
🤘😎
No se mueran nunca!
Rolón!!!! Gracias descendents🤘⚡
Que nostalgia por favor
Anyone know what's being said during the guitar solo at 1:56 ? It kinda sounds like Tony
"play that thing Frank, play that thing" c r i n g e
@@elipsage2194 def what's being said
@@elipsage2194 I'm not saying every song should have background talk during the solo, but I'm willing to give it a pass.
a) it's buried kinda deep in the mix. it's not like he's yelling it over the guitar. Unless you're really listening for it (like we are), you never really notice it.
b) I wondered if this is a bit of a tribute to Frank, who never got to see this song officially recorded and released. They could have easily taken it out of the mix but chose to leave it in.
Bonus comment: I never thought I'd see the day where I hear Descendents while waiting for my lunch at a fast food chain. But sure enough, Nightage was playing over the speakers at Jimmy John's as I was paying for my food.
Way better than the last lot of songs
PIONEERS.
💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💛💛💙
I can feel the resemblance to Myage but this slaps so fucking hard
Fucking perfect

1:51 RIP Frank Navetta
"Play that thing Frank!" and playing that thing he did, what a legend. Too bad he's not around anymore.
have pride day have good day everoyne i love this song its amamzinf
👊🏽🚫
The lead sounds like an ALL lead.
Wheres milo?
Is that a Navetta solo??
According to the credits. Sounds like Stephen, especially his signature slur bends at the end
@@peteralia661 nope that is Navetta recorded in 2002, this is the OG line up
People dislike this!? 😒
that’s what i’m thinking
@@Dewitched I know the newer albums get more hate but honestly if it's descendants I'm there.
Haters gonna hate
holy fuck, is it 1985 again?
Only song I like on this record always prefer the original line up though
