I just gotta say HOLY CRAP MILO KILLED THIS!
It’s always great to hear a tune that I grew up with…I must’ve been 15 or so when I picked up Two Things at Once on cassette tape…I’m 48 now…(ugh 😐😯🤣) It’s cool to hear an updated recording with modern production and Milo on vocs. That being said, I wouldn’t say I think it’s any better or worse than the original version with Frank Navetta on vocs. However it’s def cool that Frank is on guitar on both versions and 9th & Walnut is def a treat for us old skool Descendents fans. The original line up playing old, unreleased/“lost” tunes!!!
The record that could have been as a direct follow up to Milo Goes to College had that line up stayed together and kept it going. At least we have it now. Better late than never!! Cheers
Actually, I think this is the album we couldv've gotten before Milo Goes To College. Bill said they wrote these songs between 77-80 before they knew how to play instruments and before they knew how to write songs. He said this songs didn't make it to MGTC because they weren't good enough.
@@punkxxt yeah I was just referring to that time period and line up in general. It obviously couldn’t have been their first album as MGTC was…along with Fat EP: Hectic World & Ride the Wild.
My point is that it’s cool the different directions each line up wound up going. All of the first 4 Descendents albums had a pretty distinct flavor while staying true to their signature sound, energy, and intensity. Goes to College, I Don’t Want to Grow Up, Enjoy, and ALL (featuring their final and longest running enduring line up). It’s rare for a band to pull these things off and Descendents did it (do it) flawlessly. Cheers 🍻

To be honest I prefer the original recording.
This is great. It is more aggressive than the original.
The original was the band at the time. Everything after that is based on that core principle.

I always wondered what ride the wild would have sounded like with Milo. It fucking rocks. I was able to pick up the green vinyl of this compilation and it fucking rocks.

In hindsight, the main riff from Blew by Nirvana ended up sounding a bit like the bass intro from Ride The Wild
